    where did you get the magnetic to put in there?
    so i can use a universal washing machine motor to make power just by doing what you did ?
    but how do i know about the other items you using in the video?
    was it a transformer and capacitor and what else used ...?.......
    and was that to make the motor to have more rpm .?
    sorry female no knowledge at all and need to go of grid set up more power source to battery bank without buying more solar panels

    Because the windings on the walls act like a stater in AC and the sine wave frequency can have it running in both polarities and doesn't short since its not touching the magnets in any way but if you energize it with DC basically the stator makes the windingsin the coil a reverse magnet field wich makes it push away from the solid magnets which are already magnetized fields in N to S from each other making the shaft spin endlessly trying to repel same polarities

    It can run in dc because when dc is applied to the stator windings, the stator gets magnetized and basically turns into permanent magnets which the rotor can use to rotate.

    It is because the armature and the field winding are connected In series so the universal motor works on ac or dc supply

    I think it's cz the armature & field windings are connected in series that a universal motor can operate with either DC or AC supply. ... To reduce inductance in the armature, the current flowing in each coil of the compensating winding is in a direction opposite to the current in the corresponding armature loop near it.

    It is because the armature winding and field winding are connected in series
    So they can run on DC as well as single phase AC.

    It is common in unversal motors they keep stator armature and rotor armature those they will supply to both armature and it needs more energy. But instead of secondary armature you are keeping the magnets has we supply do voltage to rotor armature it becomes an electromagnet and works has DC motor

    Could I use a washing machine motor (brushed) for converting an electric motorbike? I've been searching and can't fine anything at all. All controllers. Could someone please tell me how could I do it or where could I find the plans or schemes? All controllers are meant for brushless motors :(

    This is a DC Motor with permanent magnet and brushes, with natural commutation.
    You may keep the stator windings and apply DC current for producing magnetic field, too.

This conversion is very beautiful and well done, but ive a question, if one had used 4 magnets instead of two, would the motor be more powerful? And if you got all 4 closer would it be even more powerful? Please share a response to this hypothesis.

    Firstly The name "Universal" it self tells that it can work with any type of supply(Ac or Dc)!Main thing is if we give ac supply to any ac motor it results of double field revolving in both half cycles which results to block(unstart)of rotor !so to overcome this we have to use auxiliary winding perpendicular to main winding! But Universal motors are specially designed without any auxillary winding so it can run for both Ac & Dc ,Due to Lorentz force action!!

      No, running it on ac would actually cause more harm than dc would.

    Universal motors can also run on DC because when the windings are excited, the motor shaft turns. This causes the commutator to turn, thus changing the contacts of the armature and the magnetic field of the armature. The field winding electromagnetic field is constant (in DC). This cycle repeats, which turns the motor.

    Just for anyone wondering, he could have not modified anything since the universal motor could be used by DC power as well. Probably less efficient without permanent magnets installed like in the video.

    You need to reduce the gap between the rotor and the field magnets. That way you can increase the torque many folds.

    car battery electronic speed controller then high speed bldc motor to run up an alternator 120 or more to the correct speed and then the alternator is excited by a battery. then the energy now on a different circuit is used in part to charge the main battery. this is a battery step up system and if the alternator becomes self excited or just uses the lowest common denominator of energy for the greatest effect. this is called a high effieciency restorative system. for the second battery uses the least amount of energy while the first one is charged (recharged in circuit like a car battery and therefore runs until excitation battery runs out. ) by the excitation gatherer. the question is of effiency and how much can you get. remember it has to charge the car battery and then power a esc and then another bldc motor to operate the scooter. this is not perpetual motion. this is not cheating. it has a limit. same thing many views but nobody shoots you maybe. just show exciter batter life as the batter life and efficiency if the answer.

    I don't see the point of converting it to a DC motor since universal motors will run on either AC or DC. You could have left it as it was and simply applied a DC current.
