Pretty good video, surprised at how good it is with a channel as small as yours, hope it grows. Good luck in youtube or wherever the video uploading journey takes you.
11:59 they did this thing in the military with a simaler idea. They made rifles have the ability to have 5 bullets loaded at once, but not automaticly load a bullet so the solders are more accurate and dont waste ammo. You could make the magazine work so of you are being rushed you can still defend yourself. I know the 1803 rifle has this but dont know about other ones.
Glad to see a vid like this exists. I agree on all points, made my own janky steam guide for this weapon last year as well :P I'm almost at 15k kills on my own Classic and seem to regularly infect others with the urge to try out this rifle. Hope you're still doing the same. 11/10 vid!
I feel like the weapon had a pretty good intent at first. Being able to see the whole battlefield, the fact that it is based off of the H&K G36 (H&K, please give us the G36, and not the crappy version you gave us). If you get rid of either the no headshot mechanic or less damage, it could be a pretty unique (all be it, an awkward weapon to use) sniper.
I feel like the H&K SL-8 variant would have jived better with the sniper. Seeing how "The Classic" is a G36, which does having a built in 3x power scope, is still a select fire 5.56 caliber assault rifle, not really a large caliber "sniper" rifle.
I think adding the Classic Automatic mode as a "press R to change sniper rifle to a 75 round SMG with bleeding and/or slowing on hit" as a upside could make it good. would making the Headshot minicrit when not fully charged be good or would it cause conflicts? maybe make it deal more damage(like 20% so -10% plus 20% for plus 10% more damage) to debuffed(slows, milk, burning, bleeeding) foes to make it better?
I love the sound of that gun, its an old HL ambient sound aswell. To the heat shot only work on fully charged part I dont remember in TFC version. The no shooting while of groud thing is sama balancing thig with the hutsman. They realy tried to prevet you to do hiding jumping kills with no scope needed weapons.
"I would'nt be supprised if most new players who unlocked it for the first time were just really confused and couldnt figure out how it works and dropped it in favor of their stock rifle." I played my first game earlier and did exactly this

A really funny thing to keep an eye out is how much the lazer effect wanders all around the gun, sometimes being completely separate from the gun model
This is my favorite rifle for sniper duels. Sure, the enemy might be smart enough to just aim where your head will be when you land, but usually bunnyhopping like a maniac results in them missing or at least missing your head, and you get to land a fully changed body shot for free and it’s stupid as hell and I love it.
The 10% less damage would be too good. I would just say give the Classic a slow down mechanic when you hit your enemy so you can finish them off with an smg. And make sniper faster while charging.
I guess they get mad when they get killed by it because it’s probably infuriating for them to get killed from the “worst” sniper in the game, especially when taunted after it or they just have anger issues.
i remember going on a killing spree in a x10 server with the classic, no one could stop me.... except for that w+m2 pyro that also kept spamming the scorch shot. Lord i hate that guy
well..both statements are true :V. if you pick sniper and willingly avoid countersniping or prioritizing medics, you might be top fragging, but you are not being useful to advance your team's game state.
I don’t really like the classic but it makes me happy to see this comment. I see so many people getting mad because he doesn’t like the classic but you have a different opinion and just state it without getting mad.
If making every edgelord Anger Sniper instantly ragequit whenever you manage to get the domination after 4 consecutive headshots is considered an utility, then yes it does have an excellent utility.
I think that, considering the source material, the gun should do mini-crit headshots at +50% or +75% charge. Then again, that could add yet another layer of micro-management to the gun when you’re trying to keep man eye on the battle field. Maybe there could be a different sound when you reach mini-crit range?
"5 dollars is too much for a game I'm probably going to play once" has a server clearing pro killstreak classic but only uses it to make a youtube video about how bad it is
You can see how different fish sounds since his fir bad weapon academy video. In this video you can still feel that "New teacher who has a smile on his face all the time" vibes and now it feels like he has been through it all and is waiting for retirement(in that teaching metaphor)
Fun fact: “The Classic” is based on the G36 automatic rifle, which does not make sense as a sniper rifle in TF2/TFC. It would’ve been better as an automatic rifle for soldier, engie, or scout. (Idk for scout since he’s a more shotgun guy. But idk 🤷🏻♂️)
I wonder if they changed it to "no headshots when not zoomed in", what would that do? The idea that you can charge up while keeping awareness of your surroundings, but when it comes to actually headshotting, you need to put the focus back in.
The Classic is a must on a Hightower plagued by market gardens, you can't let yourself get tunnel vision. Still needs to allow quickscoping or at least let crits happen after charging 1/3 of the way, and maybe improve movement speed while charging.
not sure, if I brought this up, but regarding the end: its not directly "ripped" from tfc, there it had two fire modes. the second one was pretty much the stock smg, but integrated in the same rifle- going to tf2, it would make backpack items more of a choice, especially with the charging shots and cozy camper synergy imo. Also in tfc you could slow down enemies with charged legshots for a few sec.
If I want slick ASF, I use the awper hand. When I got it though, I ended up getting it with a name tag/description. "My other AWP is a Deagle" Desc: "No seriously, it is." And I still have no clue why the last owner put it on there.
Probably a reference to CS:GO...? When you buy an AWP and deagle in a round...? Or either use only the Deagle for the entire round...? Definitely not sure but i hope i helped you understand, if what i'm thinking is right
I just use the classic because I'm more used to how sniper type weapons work in Splatoon, so for me it was the stock sniper rifle that took me a while to figure out how the controls work.
Uhh...I main this, I think the thing's God Tier. I'm not a great player but I got a 20 kill streak with this in my first match with it. It's better than anything else at killing scouts, since you can body them without scoping in for an insta kill. Also, it's amazing against enemy snipers, since you can stay out of scope and see the enemy's battlements, then just body them before they can even scope in.
@kevin wall you aren't us. i excell at killing real players with this thing. it's a fun weapon and works if used properly. try actually aiming and using it properly instead of MLG 360 noscope from across the map. there is a learning curve to it that you have to get use to. master this and you will dominate.
@UCdu6Qw4Rc9Rvk4A24yuFQCQ again, WE ARE NOT YOU. i have TRIED to master the sniper rifle. i just suck with it. the original allows me to see what i want to shoot before i scope in. let's see the sniper do that OH WAIT. and can allow me to be aware of everything around me so i don't get tunnel vision like you do with the sniper rifle and ambushes are harder to achieve on a classic because of the charge without scoping in mechanic. yes it has more damage, but putting it out faster? i'd argue no because of the faster charging of the classic. it can still one shot light to medium health classes because it can do 150 on a full charge. face it. it isn't garbage and you just like shitting on those that do better than you with a "superior weapon"
The Sniper Rifle in TFC was actually amazing. It could actually do headshots while not fully charged, the bodyshots did more damage and huge knockback, and in fact you could even use it on teammates with a fully charged shot to give them a huge speed boost or help them jump to high places. Naturally, with TF2 having a completely different pacing from TFC, this could not translate well at all, so they just sorta nerfed it everything good about it and basically missed it's point. If they wanted to give him a TFC weapon they should have gone with the SMG.
In TFC spy had a sleep dart and confusion gas that actually made enemies have audiovisual hallucinations. Scout could drop slowing caltrops, medic could either over heal, or use the med pack on enemies to give them an sti they showed smoking's the enemy ranks until a medic fixes it. All classes had two grenade variants, and medics and scouts and whatnot usually used the concussive type to leap across maps and steal flags or capture points. It's a meat grinder of a time and I friggin love it.
Tbh I usually bodysuit with classic just so the entire server know that this gamer got killed by this weapon And it’s easier so I am bad sniper, yes, do I care, no.
I started playing sniper and already had the classic. I liked how it looked and could nocope people, so I actually used it before ever touching the stock gun. I feel like it's almost a different subclass of sniper, similar to the huntsman since you have to play differently around it's weaknesses. It was kinda funny when I picked the default sniper and was like... "wait I thought all snipers worked the same"
13:55 Its not exactly like the riffle in TFC. Maybe if they could buff it to have 75 ammo as opposed to 25, readd the cripling mechanic in the form of legshots giving slowdown with duration based on charge (In TFC if i remember right, the slowdown debuff was permanent untill you died, but i think that would be too op for TF2) Maybe these changes would make it too good but it would bring it closer to TFC.
Thanks to you I finally found my entry point to sniper I tried so much trying to get into sniper but none of the weapons I was good at using however when I started using this I was hitting most of my shots and even got my first headshot in the air with this weapon. In my opinion this is a great starting rifle to get the hang of sniper
The classic and the cozy camper have really good synergy. When you are fully charged you won’t take any screen shake from direct bullet or melee damage delt to you, meaning that in certain situations you can get up in a heavies face as he’s rounding the corner and insta kill him if you hit him in the face, even if the heavy is being overhealed by a medic. This is assuming of course that he isn’t using either of the two mini guns that give damage resistance buffs like the brass beast or Natasha, and isn’t being Ubered by a vaccinator medic.

@@elecman748 The headshot hitbox was never scaled to the new character models, which are generally short than the old ones, so you have to aim higher for a headshot.
2:42 quite opposite for me - The Classic was one of my first sniper rifle drops years ago, and i used it so much, i had to re-learn that i dont have to hold M1 to charge
that's partly why people hate the classic. it's a hitscan that plays like the huntsman so the muscle memory really messes with your synergy.
I really love the classic, it's super fun and the gibs make it _so_ satisfying to noscope people. Though they need to either lower the speed reduction or allow headshot without full charge
Headshot without full charge would actually be true to the original game as well
Too bad even in that role it is outclassed. The Hitman's Heatmaker blows people's heads off and the Shooting Star atomizes them, wich looks way cooler.
@@joanaguayoplanell4912 I think gibs on classic are actually more satısfaying than hitman s hitmaker or shooting star tough that s just my opınon.
I have gibs disabled :(
Fucking no, quickscopes are already a totally broken, no way it will be added to classic. It is fine without it.
I find the Classic super good vs Snipers, actually; pop out from around a corner to have a peek at the battlefield with full charge, find them, and release
Yeah but you need to be fully charged. All the enemy sniper needs to do is headshot
@notgray88 that's why you charge your shot behind cover before peeking

1:32 the weapon is based off the heckler & koch g36,some of you may already know it,some of you dont and this goes for the ones that doesn't,in my opinion, one of the best looking weapon in the game being my favorite the detonator.
Was looking for this, as soon as I recognized that integral sight while playing tf2. I had the realization of oh this is a g36. Prolly never noticed because i am too used to the compact version of the rifle (g36c) that I just never made the connection. This is the closest thing I am gonna get to an automatic rifle in tf2 \_(•-•)_/
@@humanbeing4071 actually in team fortress classic (the game from where it was pulled from) the weapon has a full auto mode
Fun fact: you can jump while charging, you can’t fire mid air but still a funny feature
Interesting, I think Classic is slightly underrated... Thank you for the review and tips! You need more views.
I love these videos. They are great for background noise while I do chores, they are paced slow enough that I can follow them when I am tired, and fast enough that when I want a quick video to watch while waiting they are reliable. I hope this helps with your confidence and improving stuff in the future. Keep up the great work!
11/10 vid!
I love how far his channel has come, this series got me into tf2 technically, so thanks fish!
Albeit*
It is probably a semi automatic civilian variant.
5:10 "I promise I'm not a spy, I _am_ actually using the classic."
This video was the redemption to the classic i was looking for.
Kinda funny watching a small cargo line of snipers stepping slowly down the battlefield like they shit their pants.
Also I’m really impressed by the quality of your video considering your size.
Well done man
The classic was one of my first unlocks I used it unironically then and now
I love the sound of that gun, its an old HL ambient sound aswell. To the heat shot only work on fully charged part I dont remember in TFC version. The no shooting while of groud thing is sama balancing thig with the hutsman. They realy tried to prevet you to do hiding jumping kills with no scope needed weapons.
That was the most whole hearted "fucked" I've heard in my entire life lol. 3:19
4:09 killed by sniper "LVL 10 GRENADE LAUNCHER"

"I would'nt be supprised if most new players who unlocked it for the first time were just really confused and couldnt figure out how it works and dropped it in favor of their stock rifle." I played my first game earlier and did exactly this
Honestly I still feel dumb for getting rid of my classic it costed a huntsman and a Bazar bargain and reclaimed metal
2:28 I actually named my Classic like that with the describtion "What do you mean it has a scope?" since I don't scope in with it even on longrange (for memes sake).
Glad somebody agrees with me hahaha!

A really funny thing to keep an eye out is how much the lazer effect wanders all around the gun, sometimes being completely separate from the gun model
This is my favorite rifle for sniper duels. Sure, the enemy might be smart enough to just aim where your head will be when you land, but usually bunnyhopping like a maniac results in them missing or at least missing your head, and you get to land a fully changed body shot for free and it’s stupid as hell and I love it.
even in the very first bad weapon academy we can see tidbits of fish's hatred towards the scorch shot, gotta love it man.
How to fix the Classic:
10% less damage on bodyshot: gone
Unable to shoot while airborne: gone
Boom! Way better!
The 10% less damage would be too good. I would just say give the Classic a slow down mechanic when you hit your enemy so you can finish them off with an smg. And make sniper faster while charging.
I’d just say to make it charge by itself and you click once to shoot
@Rand0m778 that would partially remove the uniqueness of the weapon though.
thelongershot you do have a point there...
thelongershot what if it charges faster?
Take a shot every time he talks about, mentions, or shows the Scorch Shot while watching this playlist. (skip non-tf2 videos)
Thanks man. Very good video it helped me alot. The Classic is my favorite meme weapon, i dont know why people get so mad when they killed by it.
I guess they get mad when they get killed by it because it’s probably infuriating for them to get killed from the “worst” sniper in the game, especially when taunted after it or they just have anger issues.
@@scalingsock7470 nah I respect people more for playing the worst anything.

Maybe he did
Everyone in 2020: Ew. Who would ever use the classic
Everyone in 2021: Haha exploding guy go brrr
the classic is a underrated utility .
12:55 3000 FUCKING CLASSIC KILLS!!!???

At least you can sell the Classic lol
He did say he enjoys playing with it lol
cool to see some different content from you, not that only CP related content is bad tho
You can see how different fish sounds since his fir bad weapon academy video. In this video you can still feel that "New teacher who has a smile on his face all the time" vibes and now it feels like he has been through it all and is waiting for retirement(in that teaching metaphor)
The classic was the first weapon I got as a random drop. I was so damn confused
This video is severely underrated. I really loved the delivery. Idk why
12:12 This implies Sniper doesn’t already do this by default.
Damn 3 years ago? Felt like it came out last year.
It has a full auto mode in TFC, in addition to the nailgun.
@@thegardenofeatin5965 wow didnt know that (didnt play both games, thats why)
I wonder if they changed it to "no headshots when not zoomed in", what would that do? The idea that you can charge up while keeping awareness of your surroundings, but when it comes to actually headshotting, you need to put the focus back in.
A fellow Civ 5 player, I see.
I think that increasing the charging movement speed and decreasing the charge time would make it more viablew without changing it completely from TFC
The Classic is a must on a Hightower plagued by market gardens, you can't let yourself get tunnel vision.
Still needs to allow quickscoping or at least let crits happen after charging 1/3 of the way, and maybe improve movement speed while charging.
Every time I want to get back into TF2 I just have to remember Gun Mettle happened and I regain my sanity.
not sure, if I brought this up, but regarding the end: its not directly "ripped" from tfc, there it had two fire modes. the second one was pretty much the stock smg, but integrated in the same rifle- going to tf2, it would make backpack items more of a choice, especially with the charging shots and cozy camper synergy imo. Also in tfc you could slow down enemies with charged legshots for a few sec.
If I want slick ASF, I use the awper hand.
When I got it though, I ended up getting it with a name tag/description.
"My other AWP is a Deagle"
Desc: "No seriously, it is."
And I still have no clue why the last owner put it on there.
Probably a reference to CS:GO...? When you buy an AWP and deagle in a round...? Or either use only the Deagle for the entire round...? Definitely not sure but i hope i helped you understand, if what i'm thinking is right
@@zesomeone4078 Probably is the case, but.. still a weird thing to spend over 25 refined on
@@swifter46ter mmm, maybe
I just use the classic because I'm more used to how sniper type weapons work in Splatoon, so for me it was the stock sniper rifle that took me a while to figure out how the controls work.
Uhh...I main this, I think the thing's God Tier. I'm not a great player but I got a 20 kill streak with this in my first match with it. It's better than anything else at killing scouts, since you can body them without scoping in for an insta kill. Also, it's amazing against enemy snipers, since you can stay out of scope and see the enemy's battlements, then just body them before they can even scope in.
i swear everyone calls it trash because they only ever use it to across the map noscope 360 headshot and miss.
Yeah the non zoom makes it pretty damn useful
Every other sniper zooms in and thusly you better be looking for a head
This is why I love tf2, the weapons are mostly balanced when you understand how to use them. Of course some are more niche than others.
>Bad Weapon Academy
>The Classic
think you've got a typo there man
In TFC spy had a sleep dart and confusion gas that actually made enemies have audiovisual hallucinations.
Tbh I usually bodysuit with classic just so the entire server know that this gamer got killed by this weapon
And it’s easier so I am bad sniper, yes, do I care, no.

Gibus sniper on 2fort: Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave?
I started playing sniper and already had the classic. I liked how it looked and could nocope people, so I actually used it before ever touching the stock gun. I feel like it's almost a different subclass of sniper, similar to the huntsman since you have to play differently around it's weaknesses. It was kinda funny when I picked the default sniper and was like... "wait I thought all snipers worked the same"

you merely adopted the classic, i was born in it, molded by it
I actually main the classic
13:55
Its not exactly like the riffle in TFC.
Maybe if they could buff it to have 75 ammo as opposed to 25, readd the cripling mechanic in the form of legshots giving slowdown with duration based on charge
(In TFC if i remember right, the slowdown debuff was permanent untill you died, but i think that would be too op for TF2)
Maybe these changes would make it too good but it would bring it closer to TFC.
2:38 nice chat people is having
Thanks to you I finally found my entry point to sniper I tried so much trying to get into sniper but none of the weapons I was good at using however when I started using this I was hitting most of my shots and even got my first headshot in the air with this weapon. In my opinion this is a great starting rifle to get the hang of sniper
I would still keep it just for countering spawnkilling heavies
I like the new TH-cam system that recommends random good videos. And this is one of those random and good videos
1 MILION VIEWS!!!
To buff the Classic I propose that the charge speed be increased by 50%.
