Happy new year! What better way to ring in the new year than with some new DIY decor ideas?! These are projects inspired by pieces that I’ve had on my Pinterest board forever so I thought I could make them with some IKEA pieces for much cheaper. Some of these techniques are new to me so I hope you guys will get some inspiration from them and of course, even though I’m using IKEA pieces, you can translate these ideas to other items to make them your own. We're going to make a floral lamp, a fabric covered mirror inspired by Anthropologie, and patterned and colorful mats and frames.

hi danie, well what was i started a project that i thought would be inexpensive and easypeasy lemon sqeezy because i was inspired by something demonstrated on sorry girls. now dont recommend taking ideas from these diy channels because its only costing me 1000s dollars and 1000s years.

one more thing, during a move my body mirror broke. so i bought a glass cutter to make a 2ft by 4ft ish (it was going to be easy) i kept on trying, i think 8×10 or smaller. my hope is to someday have it have geometric lines, lines look like pink stone/ gold. the mirror was on wayfair and the artist probably used real stone.

If you wired the petals to a split ring, you could remove the shade anytime just by removing the bulb. Yes, you can buy a new bulb for that lamp, at Ikea, of course. Great dupes, they turned out really well. Thanks for sharing

I don't get the constant talk about to keeping up with the trends. It seems to create the need to spend more and waste more, which is NOT a good trend. You made some really beautiful items that I hope don't end up in a landfill because in a year they aren't trendy anymore. Who cares? Our homes should be filled with love and things that bring us joy. They should tell a story and reflect our individuality, not reflect what everyone else thinks is cool and doing.

I honestly wasnt feeling the frames but once i saw them on the wall, wow they looked amazing! Also with that lamp, I didnt care for the concept of a flower lamp but the one you made is gorgeous I love the amount of petals you used and the color you chose, its so pretty! The fabric on the mirror idea is really cool, I would love a velvet framed mirror I think.

All 3 projects were really good. I’m not a flowery person but was impressed how the lamp turned out. Do wish the mirror was bigger and somehow thought it was upholstered with padding but certainly loved the outcome. So loved the picture frames. As usual you did a really good job. I feel 2024 will be choker-blocked with creativity. Thank you for inspiring work. Blessings as you close out 2023 and prepare for 2024.

This flower idea is SO great I paused the video to start making it on one of our floor lamps. I did some testing with fabric, tule and cardstock petals.

I don’t know if everyone else will use these colors, but, I’m going to be using creams, sandy colors and tan/brown/ chocolates… can’t wait. Oh, and I’m painting my lower kitchen cabinets like a midnight blue, almost black, and my upper cabinets will be a sandy cream color. I can’t WAIT!! I will start my kitchen redo after 4 other small projects I have to finish for people/customers.

Like the girl math. Returned all this stuff, so anything I buy today is free. Already had this paint, so this whole project is free. Lol. Projects look great, BTW.
Personally, I dislike checkered patterns. Especially outside of being brown and cream or caramel and cream in color. Anything else reminds me of Vans shoes which I've seen WAY too much of in my youth. Something about that pattern not being a floor annoys me. As flooring, I think checkered patterns should be neutral colors.
Then again, I also highly dislike the paisley pattern, and I always have since I was little. It just reminds me of looking at germs and bacteria under a microscope.

Happy New Year! I suggest checking the thrift shops for mirrors and lamps. For a fraction of the price you could get the same results. Keep up the creative work!

I like your DIY projects better than the inspos. I think that trends are moving in and out faster than ever. Checkboard goes in and out, so just hold on to that frame when you're tired of it.

I think the mirror turned out beautifully! I think it would have been even better if you built out the frame a bit more so you could see more of the art print. Also would have been interesting to possibly use some foam or the like so it could have a rounded appearance like the inspo.

The flower lamp is so very pretty and the frames turned out really great. Not a big fan of the fabric covered mirror frame mostly I think it will be hard to do well.
You could put on of those painting tapestries in your workshop background

Spray foam , and bondo the the spray fix glue, an fabric, and seal.
Read your instructions that came with lamp it should tell you. Hope this helps loved these projects tyfs

Oh my how trends return i had a mirror with the floral style pattern around it in the 90s ? then i painted it a trendy grey ,still have that mirror the only one which fitted a hallway wall perhaps i should return it to a mix of colours 😂

You can build ON the frame to make it bigger/wider with cardboard
