We are continuing the kitchen makeover. Last week, we made a lot of progress and got started on the island, backsplash, and cabinets with renter-friendly hacks. This week, I’m working on some DIYs to really personalize the kitchen including a custom wall art piece and a built-in shelf with a kitchen rail.

I really liked the previous tile but still think the white looks much better! the counters was an eyesore before and didn't fit the rest at all, but the whole space also really needed to get brighter so I think you did the best thing for the space tying in the tile with the countertops.
NOW, it really feels like our home and our kitchen. I missed our old kitchen because of how much love you put into it and this new kitchen is just 💛

I love the white backsplash, i think it really brightened up the space. I think you should try to get white outlet covers if you can. Also the diy shelf looks so good! Adding those hooks was a great idea.

I love how you broke up the very white/light counters and backsplash with lots of wood to keep it from being a stark contrast from the cabinets while still giving contrast and light! Also those olive cabinets look good 😂 I may need to try this on my very boring but fine rental kitchen cabinets

SO GOOD TINA!! I was skeptical about the green contact paper at first, but I trusted that it would turn out well and it really did. You have such a skill at creating cohesive spaces that relate to eachother without it all being an exact match. Love it!

This has inspired me so much! I also just moved into a rental house and am currently putting up terrible stick on tile, but your little shelf you made for your counter is something I’m 100% going to do!! It adds so much warmth and I love the quick access to stuff. Also going to make my own art! Thanks for the inspiration 💕 to share my ideas, I was planning on making an indoor herb garden to hang on a free wall I have! Could be a nice addition with your green.

When I moved into my rental flat, the kitchen was beige and brown. I wrapped the whole thing in peel and stick white gloss vinyl, and the counter tops in white and blue marble vinyl. I love how your kitchen turned out - it's so much more cosy. I wouldn't be able to cope with the heavy grey though. The panelling on those doors is like a ready-made frame to me - I'd be after putting pictures in there 😁

I like it, it works very well in that corner, looks like it's been there from the original build. Breaks up the long run of white tile and a place to show some "pretty things". Nicely done!

They really went overboard with the grey. I like grey, but I definitely think your choices opened up the kitchen and made it pop! That DIYed spice shelf next to the stove is so cute - it adds character, for sure! But my absolute favourite is - of course - the island. I wish we could find those slats here in Canada for that price! Unfortunately they are cost prohibitive here. 😢 So I will live vicariously through you and just enjoy the eye candy that is your new kitchen! Well done!

Il piccolo mobiletto che hai usato per il thè è davvero delizioso e lo scaffalino che hai creato con le tue mani è come se "cucisse" tra loro le varie parti.. spegnendo un pò il bianco delle mattonelle bianche del paraschizzi che non mi facevano sinceramente impazzire.

Just an idea here: maybe you could add the contact paper in the middle section (or pane?) of the cabinet? I don’t know if that would look good or be just too much green which idk, if there can ever be too much green..? But it could be a fun option to explore! Would definitely hide a lot more of that gray by having just the cabinet framing be that color-the gray framing surrounding the pretty green middle section could _totally be a vibe!_ Also, I believe I’ve been seeing the pop of color in the middle section of a cabinet becoming a new trend for 2024. 🤔

You should definitely use your Pho artwork for your artwork print company...perhaps open for commissions for people to have their own favourite/family recipes in ingredient form. I know I am now inspired to paint a few for my new farm house kitchen (just moved from major city to deep rural in my country) and have started cooking like my grandmother did on her farm again.
