I think Alana missed all the Shane Dawson Vs Onision drama that was circling a while back, as that's when a lot of the pedo shit got dragged back up to the forefront. Shane absolutely should not be trusted with a child, but neither should Greg; but this is the world we live in. Everything is shit and nothing is ok.

But what about the biological mother? She's a human being, and there's conections between offspring and their biological parents that are hard for science to explain. Creating orphans on purpose is pretty twisted.
@@ANPC-pi9vu they're not orphans, they're grown in another persons womb, who consented to the procedure (for money if I'm not mistaken) and raised by the parents who wanted the crotch goblin in the first place. If they were making orphans there wouldn't be a (presumably) loving home waiting for them at the end.
Again, I haven't once said I'm for the procedure, I just felt the need to hop in with some fact checking.

Yes there are good straight and gay couples that deserve to have families, but that doesn't mean that surrogacy isnt dystopian as fuck especially the whole designer build a baby where you get to pick an choose what you get
Also the part where they create a bunch of embryos (that would grow into humans with hair color, eye color, height, personalities, etc) are just thrown in the trash after selecting the most viable one is kinda sad and dystopian.

Like, I'd get wanting to have a child with a surrogate with whom the mother has no family history of cancers or other heridtary diseases. Some people just aren't built for taking care of children with disabilities and uncurable diseases/deformaties, it's a stressor on everyone in the family unit. That I get. But having it as a living "Build a Bear" where you discard the ones you don't like is a rich person dystopian nightmare. I get discarding non-viable embryos (like, ones that the doctors literally say that they will not survive implantation in the surrogate), but viable ones just because you don't like the fact that they won't have features you don't like? Scary stuff, man.

@@DistractedGlobeGuy It's a whole separate thing done for completely unrelated reasons, so why do you keep bringing it up? I think any form of abortion is not ideal at best and murder at worst. Plan B we're talking about preventing an embryo from developing and attaching to the lining in the first place. Now what does that have to do with intentionally creating kids to take them away from their mothers?
What's funny is statistically speaking same-sex couples are actually more likely to have domestic violence, from both sides.

The Quartering feels that way about surrogacy in general as well as intentional single parent situations. It's not about the fact they are gay, I've watched his content, he's kind of just a milktoast conservative. It's about the fact the babies don't get to have a mother. In Brazil they would be arrested along with the surrogate and the doctors for "discarting" 10 babies as our constitution acknowledges that life starts at conception and it would be considered a heinous crime (infanticide) meaning not even bail, there are very few exceptions to that, rap*, mother life at risk and a baby with an unformed brain. Yeah, i see this situation as terrifying, can't even imagine how someone could just throw not one but ten lifes in the trash and not even feel a shed of remorse.
Surrogacy isn't horrible by itself. There are just tons of things involved that are really messed up like the whole "desinger baby" thing, tons of embryos being created & yeeted, and then there is all the stuff about making sure that the mothers aren't being taken advantage of. It is just really easy for it to go way too dystopian.
I think it is, personally. The whole point of it is that instead of adopting children already in the system, you're getting someone to make one for you. One that gets taken from them immediately. That's NOT GOOD on a mother mentally, and it commodifies motherhood, also bad.

What about the connection between the baby and the surrogate who is the biological mother? I don't think there's any way to get around how fucked up it is to intentionally create babies with the intention of taking them away from their mothers.
@@DistractedGlobeGuy Nobody said anything about blasphemy. Plan B is a pill that prevents a baby from developing in the first place after sex. At worst you might be aborting an embryo that doesn't have any brain or nervous system function, which is still better than regular abortions or unwanted children ending up in the system.

Men can produce something similar to breast milk under unfortunate circumstances but they don't have the equipment required to make actual nutritionally valuable milk and would likely poison the child with hormones and other unnatural things since they don't produce actual real milk
Male lactation can occur when the endocrine system is severely disrupted, but the fluid that comes out is mostly water and pus.
It's an indicator of severe physiological problems, like "organ failure imminent" level severe.
