- Did you know adding subtitles to your videos opens your whiteboard video up to a wider audience? Putting subtitles on your video allows for people to watch your video on silent (which the majority of people do these days) and makes it accessible to the hearing impaired. They are also helpful if you want to add a different language. In this tutorial, we’ll show you all the ways in which you can utilize this feature.
At Doodly, we pride ourselves on being the simplest drag and drop doodle video creator. You can create your own whiteboard animation video in as little as 60 seconds. Our software has a vast array of backgrounds, styles, images, sounds, and tracks to help you put together an awesome presentation. Whether it’s for TH-cam, the classroom, a corporate setting, or just for fun, you will love creating with our software.

Loved how this was presented! It showed the benefit first and then explained the how-to.
Well done. Thank you.
Great information about using Doodly subtitles; I learn something new every day. Using subtitles like a cheatsheet, nice tip
Glad it was helpful!
THanks these tutorials are helpful but how did the words above the character's head get there?
Great tutorial Pamela!! 👏👏👏
Thanks so much! 😊
This is so helpful! Thanks for the powerful tips and instruction.
Glad it was helpful!
Great tutorial video! I like one benefit of subtitles: add the voiceover by reading the text out of the subtitle. This ensures users will read smoothly and can easily synchronize the duration of the animations, of the scene and the length of the voiceover.
Awesome! Glad to hear you liked it, Hoang!
I like the idea that you can put your notes as subtitles and then make your voiceover reading the text scene by scene, and then take them off if your want to.
That's right! Glad this helped :)
Hi, thanks. Is there some way to change the size and location of the letter for the subtitlles?
Please reach out to support@doodly.com for your queries.
When I export my doodly video and select the instagram/facebook size then the captions move to the center of the screen instead of the bottom. It blocks my pictures. Any idea about how to fix this issue?
Is it possible to change the default setting for scene entrance and exit for your entire video rather than having to constantly remember you don’t want the default swish between scenes? You’re “shoulding” yourself over what “should be” in the programmers box for change. I know it drives me nuts and I get on myself for not remembering when it’s actually something that I “should” ask Doodly to do for me by asking for a default change for the video.
Hi Anna! At the moment, the default setting would be Swipe left but you can easily change this to None on Video Settings. However, we do appreciate and understand your feedback and ask that if you have feature requests that you would like to have our development team consider or suggestions, please use the feature requests center here: www.doodly.com/requests
Thank you!
I was wondering how you did that in the templates. Now I know. Thanks.
Happy to help!
Great tutorials. I would only change the light-green background with white type for the three subtitles to either darker-green background or another text colour. I think, it is too difficult to read. Thank you.
Noted!
I noticed that we are not able to copy/past content for the text box, and it doesn't offer spell check. Am I missing something? For me, I really need to be able to do both of those.
You should be able to copy and paste text outside Doodly to the text box however, we don't have have a spell check feature at the moment. Feel free to submit your suggestions here www.doodly.com/requests/
Thank you!
Nice to learn step by step details.
Glad it was helpful!
