The dude actually gets shit done. Every episode is either a bunch of stuff accomplished and/or a bunch of distance covered or some new adventure. He doesn't drag out fixing things or take his sweet time, dudes a machine. It's refreshing to watch someone competently crank through work
The amount of skills you have accumulated at your age amazes me. From changing out injectors & a water pump to rebuilding an alarm electrical board. Impressive!
What makes your channel so delightful to watch is because you are definitely a genuine guy with 100% positive attitude about all your trials, troubles as well as your joys. The name of your boat fits you well. In the end the pessimist may be proved right but the optimist had a much better trip. ❤
i am retired technical metal tradesman and toolmaker, finished my career working on Australia Collins submarines, as i watch you work you impress me with you protocols and professional approach. good work.
In too deep?? Nah man, not deep enough! You are a tremendous mechanic! Outstanding human, and a fantastic planner! Man what a wonderful thing you have going on. As soon as I can, I’ll buy me a shirt! Safe sailing brother! And may god protect you and give you everything you need!
Is there anything you can’t do? For a kid in this day and age you are a breath of fresh air and your work ethic is superb and your parents must be extremely proud of you
Love seeing you young guys killing it. Logan not only does his job with a smile, he's stellar at that job. So glad to see an update. Can't wait to see the adventures you get into down there.
Man so many memories! that engine room, same gen set, 6V92`s Detroits, twin disk transmissions, I had a Mattews 56, lived aboard for 11 years, great experience, I would go back in a heart beat but, ..things change :))
You are amazing Gus. It is such a pleasure to watch you & your channel. From an older American (76) I wish for you much success in your future endeavors.
It literally couldn’t happen to a better more hard-working solid dude on this planet! We love you Bro! I hope you realize that we’ve all fucking love you!!! Go live your life for those of us that are old and broken and can’t do it ourselves… Fairwinds Bro 👊
I have never been more stoked to see your video! Thank You from the bottom of my heart for releasing a video today! I got something to eat and watch, too! 😊
I am genuinely impressed by the depth of knowledge you have acquired at such a young age. Your hard work and dedication shine through, and your infectious smile makes it all the more delightful. Thank you for the great video.
I am so proud of you! Just when I think you hit the mark, you raise the bar higher. Your knowledge and skills are off the charts. You deserve the best. I cried when you left the dock. I've been on this journey with you over a year! Smooth travels. She's a beauty! I hope to meet you someday.
Great video Gus - mate you are a legend for doing this and bringing this glorious vessel back into awesomeness. We have an 1989 57ft King Yachts Corp "fast trawler", twin Cat 3208's, that we are restoring project by project. Old boats are a labour of love!! Wooooooo Weeeeeeee. Love your work dude.
Gus your a great captain and it's all the little things that make a large vessel sea worthy. May the wind be at your back and smooth sailing to your destination and fun times with good friends.😎
our boat has had the same name since she was built in 1999, the 3 previous owners kept it so we felt we could not change it and we happened to like it. I think honoring the original name is very cool.
Hi Gus, I’m new to your channel and I have to say I love your content. I binge watched your last few videos this past weekend. I must admit I’m very jealous. I’ve always wanted to own a boat and I just wish I had your mechanical knowledge. I’ve been thinking of taking on a project boat but I’m afraid I’ll be in too deep, lol. Anyways, keep up the great work and more importantly don’t change who you are. Based on the amount of people willing to help you, says a lot about your character!
I'm a diesel tech currently trying to finish my car projects but soon as that's done I've decided I'm getting that boat I've always wanted but was too afraid to pull the trigger. I actually work on similar engines for work, today I rebuilt the injection pump and injectors on a Kubota Reefer engine
@IntooDeepBro Gus I’m an A&P aviation mechanic also. I am older than you, but I will tell you something you have my deepest 100% respect. The way you tackle things and just go for it amazes me! you’re incredible , I’m getting ready to purchase my dreamboat next year and I’m gonna look you up! Showing some love from Northern California
Making dreams come true, you've earned every bit of it. You have such a great attitude and the best work ethic I ever seen. I honed my youth on boats in Ft. Lauderdale where I was born, working Pier 66 back in the old days. It's a never ending chore staying in ship shape but you are getting there. Heavenly Father, Bless sailors with keen eyes to read the stars, wisdom to interpret the compass, and skill to chart their course. May their navigation be true, and their journeys safe. Lead them through uncharted waters, and guide them to safe harbors, ensuring their safe passage through every perilous strait and challenging route. Protect them from the perils that lurk beneath the surface, and may their voyage be marked by serenity and safety. AMEN
I have in my long life had seven boats. None anywhere as nice as your last two boats. I spent my youth on the Chesapeake Bay, then Palm Beach Florida. When I was in law school around your age, I rebuilt a destroyed old fiberglass cuddy cabin boat with a tree growing thru the deck and a large hole in the upper bow. I never had your skills, so I paid others for repairs. Eventually when I became a Judge I bought a waterfront house and put in a dock. You own a boat that would cost a few million new. So it’s a rich man׳s boat. Im jealous of your youth and freedom and I enjoy your videos.
Ok, I’m a chiller mechanic for about 33yrs now. Huge stuff. You stated it was working before you recovered the refrigerant. I sure hope you had water flow in the heat exchangers because you go below 32 sat temp and you make ice….. fyi, chillers, when moving refrigerant always start the water side pumps.
I'm mindblown over all the skills, the guts you have to even do projects like this:) I love it:) It's more like a ship you got your hands on now, with proper engineroom. proper bridge, and the size of that beutiful ship:) I've watched all of your videos from the beginning:) And I cant wait till the next episode! You're living my dream man!:)
That is one beautiful boat leaving the dock, Florida here you come. All your hard work and Kips sure shows up on this video, standing tall. With new working instruments oh my, gonna be a fun trip.😊
I’m sure you have enough of praises, however, real inspiration Gus! Your videos make NE winter liiitle more bearable. You’re always welcome on Cape Cod.👍
I don't know if you care much for comments, and I may be late to the party, I just notice you love doing your own work.... from a career mechanic to what come across as a hobbyist, Mag trays.... they are that little thing that simply makes things a little more fun. Grain of salt
I'm just amazed at how well rounded you are in all things it takes in understanding and fixing such a complex vessel. Thanks for taking us along for your adventure.
You are absolutely an amazing guy to watch, there is nothing that you are afraid to tackle and fix what ever problem you find. Your enthusiasm is inspiring to all of us that watch you. I hope your trip is an awesome trouble trip for you and the crew. Cheers from Austin, TX
Gus, I have to say I am very proud of you your hard work your enthusiasm and the people that’s around you you’re a good person and it shows everything that you do again, I’m very proud of your hard work keep it up and may you have smooth sailing
My popcorn has been enjoyed as I watched your latest and greatest amazing video. Can't wait for the next one to come out! I absolutely love your stuff, and I think you have one of the most wholesome channels on the internet. Your work ethic is just incredible as you take on all these projects, problems, and adventures. Thank you for providing me with entertainment. Can't wait to see the Broward in more warm water. Thanks, Gus!!
Ahh yes only gus can have me drinking a beer on a Monday my boats put away for the winter might just live on it next summer love the vids gus never stop man 25 livin life same here 🥂
A wire loom for the wires on the mast? Sounds like a good idea to me.. even nice soft hose and chamfer any edges to prevent any type of wire insulation damage... I know you pickin up what I'm putting down homie.... keep up the good work !
If I were young again, I would do the same thing! I love your adventures and enjoy seeing the great water life. You did a great job on the vessel. She's awesome!
Gus you should’ve put that evaporator coil back down into the pan it’s designed like that for a reason. It’s called airflow restriction. That’s why they put it in the pan so deep you may be changing the specs on how that moves the air across that coil if you pull it out of the pan too far.
By setting your coils .5” above the pan, you’re essentially making a a huge hole in your coil which will make very inefficient. Add a strip of stainless to close up the 1/2” gap at the bottom. .5” x 30”= 15” hole in coil
my sea sailing experience's prompt me to advise you to get some port/strbd cleats lower down the transom, when in play mode on the stern platform, you'll find the really handy for dingy other toys trailing lines when swimming off stern,
Honored her origins! Great name. I've been at Broward when rhey launched on New River during the 80's. I picture Serenity with the champagne smashing and her owners and yard crew watching her launch. Than you for that vision!
Addictive and incredible to watch your knowledge level; you are truly a mechanical and electrical savant! Love your enthusiasm, it’s soooo addicting. Love the Ábacos and the gin clear waters…….so jealous. I don’t have enough superlatives to describe who and what you are! You Rock!!! Capt. Christine
Gus, im sure your on your journey down the FL and the Bahamas so please have a safe trip and live everyday as its your last. Time flys and your definitely doing it right. From 1 man to another Love you brother. Soon my wife and i will be soing the same we cant wait to sail from Upstate NY to Fl and the Bahamas
You have inspired me to think about selling my house and buying a 55/75 ft boat which frees up the cash equity sitting useless in my house and gets my ass off the couch at 72...enjoy your adventures and am paying attention to all the negatives and positives Thanks

Sincerity. Perfect to take the boat back to it's original name. It also describes the Captain as well.
