Sailing certainly has its charms and challenges, but an MV like yours and what you're doing totally "STOKES"me out! After saying that, I realized I hadn't used that old surfer word in years! It is defined as having incredibly well-formed, large glassy waves, warm sunshine, and unashamedly having FUN, FUN, FUN!!!
Figure costs to repair/maintain/overhaul as desired or required. Divide costs by hrs of operation = costs per hour. Establish an account and periodically pay up! 2. Figure all other costs per hour, add to a different account account. 3, funds in accounts become active in highly conservative investments. This way, you 'll have funds when needed. Arŕrrr, Matie, avast and be off wit ye! Thy engine room be worse than a pig's nest, a sty! Ship shape and Bristol fashion ye about it! Now wit ye, and not be ye awasting about it!!! Arrrrr
For the steaks Gus... Get a roasting pan with a rack. Dry the steaks with paper towels. Put a generous amount of course sea salt on one side of the steak and rub it in. Flip the steaks and do the same on the other side. Put the steaks on the rack in the pan and leave them in the fridge for 4-6 hours, uncovered (the air needs to circulate around the whole steak). Remove from fridge and wipe off all the remaining sea salt off with paper towels. At this point they're ready to cook, but can also just be wrapped and put back in the fridge for later. You can pan fry, broil, bake, grill or my personal indoor favorite, air fry in an air fryer. For the air fryer, preheat to 450 degrees with the rack in. Add the steaks and cook for 6 minutes on each side (More or less time, to your liking). Remove and just add some freshly ground white peppercorns from a pepper mill (this step is critical). That's it. Enjoy!! You only need those three ingredients: Beef, Salt, White Pepper. Can't be beat! :) PS - The sea salt does several things. It tenderizes the meat and draws out the surface moisture, so the outside sears quickly and the steaks retain their juices. It also adds just the right amount of that salty/umami flavor. Don't leave them on the rack with the salt on for more than six hours though, or they'll just taste like salt :) Cheers, Sev
My friend, I was caught in rough seas between Ireland and the UK one time, taking a ferry home I was and I found myself listening to this track at the height of it ......... th-cam.com/video/7yKXE-Ni5FA/w-d-xo.html ......... if you want an awesome experience, next time you find yourself in rough seas put on that music. It's awesome!
OMG, I'm feeling old because I turned 60. I hope I'm still enjoying life in 2057 :) Boy, how things must have changed since 1931. I suppose we have to embrace change and not get bitter. Have a great day :)
Gus I am 54 yrs old and you are living my dream! I am so impressed by your accomplishments at your age. Thank you for allowing me to live vicariously through your adventures. You are the man!!!!
Damn dude.......I am absolutely loving this trip!!!!! Im a disabled marine and i feel like I'm on this adventure with you!!!! Thank you, thank you.thank you!!!!!!
Start the steak in a hot pan. Sear each side, then put it in the oven. The sear will seal in the juice and flavor!!! Let it rest 5-10 minutes, slice and enjoy!!! Great series! We should all be so hard working and fortunate!
Gotta love having an experienced and solution-focused crew. No complaining about the wipers not working, just get outside and fix them. That's the stuff that makes these videos special.
I'm from Newport News and had I been there when you hit Norfolk I would have taken the crew out to eat and wanted to come aboard. I'm 82 and would give eye tooth to do what you're doing. Bon Voyage to the Caribbean and I'll watch Jan 3rd.😊
Gus if your GM do not appear to be burning oil be suspicious of a fuel leak under the rocker covers, I was Captain of a 90 Azimut, put 2,000 hrs on it and the 12v92 TAs burnt 1 gallon per 10 hours at 1,800, Magnum 53 2 x 16V92 TIs 1.5 gal per 10 hours at 1,800, Bertram 48 2 x 8V71 TIs 0.5 gal per 10 hours
You are living the dream! Thanks so much for sharing your voyage with this 72 year old Chesapeake Bay boy who would absolutely love to be with you on this trip! But, hey, I am… so to speak! Looking forward to Jan. 3rd for the next installment! Fair winds and following seas! Happy holidays!
@RevMishka I don't regret my past, but like you, I would give anything to be as talented and life disciplined at 26 to do AND share experiences on the water. I'm 82 and a James River boy who loves the sea.
I find it great that despite the high workload from last episode, everyone seems to be smiling on camera. Thank you for showing your adventures on TH-cam. The crew and the way you guys get though the sea is pretty wild and it really shows on camera.
Greetings from Norway (Bergen). Been to sea as a Radio officer myself. Hope you get that VHF on the flybridge working. Living by the sea and have my own quai and a small boat (27ft). Tasting the salt by watching. Good stuff!!
Mate, I love your films. I know nothing about boats at all, but love your enthusiasm and energy. Learning so much about stuff as I’m watch. Thank you for amazing content. Makes my week.
I've always enjoyed watching your adventures from the trawler to the Broward. I grew up on the Chesapeake, 2 blocks West of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel's Southern landfall. When I was in Sea Explorers we rowed from what is now Town Point in Norfolk to Elizabeth City every Spring...I made the trip 3 times - best speed was 13 hours and 16 minutes. First on the left entering the Elizabeth River are the Forrestal Piers, then the Destroyer/Submarine piers, then the cranes at Norfolk International Terminals, then the city of Norfolk proper.
If I order a steak at a restaurant and they ask if I want A1, my response is, "I better not!" Great stuff man. I am living through you. Many years ago I bought a Rinker V190 cuddy cabin with plans to grow from there. Instead, my growth was from a tent to a 30 foot 5th wheel for camping. Can't do everything!
Gus, that East River time-lapse and drone portions were AWESOME! Can't wait to see the most beautiful powered cruiser on the internet in those crystal clear waters....Moses < ❤
Don't leave the helm without a watch person. I almost had a major collision because I didn't insist my wife watch the helm. She did and it saved us from a collision with a shrimp boat.
Been a subscriber from the beginning. I'm amazed by your mechanical skill and your ability to focus and keep on task during your trip preparation. The Broward 70 is an absolutely beautiful boat. The lines are so sleek for a boat her size, and she looks a lot newer than she is. I live on the CT Shore and keep my 350 Mainship in Groton CT. I would say that I would have been glad to meet you underway, but I remember that storm you came through and there was no way I'd take my 39ft Mainship out in that! I've transited the sound from Oyster Bay NY to Niantic CT in 40 MPH winds and 8-10 ft seas in a 24 ft Novi, so I can relate! Fair winds and calm seas, I'll be watching.
The last time I took a boat through that lock it was in February and we broke ice on the other side. Epic trip. Congratulations, and I hope it continues to go as smoothly. Glad you didn't get run down. Shows the importance of a good watch.
I have been waiting for this video. I truly enjoy the trip down the East River. I was born and raised in NY city decades ago. I used to have an 18’ SeaRay that I used to cruise around Manhattan island with. Got a little choppy and stuffed the bow a couple of times. I think I’m speaking for many viewers when I say that I wish I could have done what you’re doing.
Love it, been here in South Eastern VA for 22 years. Navy sent us here in '02, was stationed at the Navy base in Norfolk for 14 years. Now I run my Bayliner Cuddy out of the Great Bridge ramp down past the base whenever I can, it's a great area for boating. Love seeing the warships even better now that I'm retired and no longer have to sail on them!
Bro you are absolutely incredible. Admire the content you provide on TH-cam. Really gives me an opportunity to see something from another level headed guys point of view. Just a normal Maine guy here, 34 an just living life working in healthcare strapped to a seat living that Mon-Fri life. You are the best being able to live through you, wishing I could be out there experiencing it too. Wicked good vibes. Night man
The moment I saw your post I smiled. Good to see you still at it and killing it. Keep the dream alive and running. Thanks again for sharing your dream. On the steak cook, try 5 mins for each side in a pan, then toss in the oven with some butter for 15-20 mins depending on the oven and how you like your steak.
49:22 that looks like it might be a seaweed ball, or kelp bed! Great video by the way. Everytime I see you post a video I drop whatever I’m doing and watch them. Keep up the great work!
Nope! That is def the drone squadron in hibernation waiting to terrorize folks tonight! 😳 That's why Guss can't recognize them.. underwater drones in stealth mode. 😟 He'z In Too Deep! 🥺 😂😂😂😂
@ 😂🤣 My bad, I didn’t realize it was the hibernating scuba drones waiting to be awakened. I can definitely see it now though! Super grateful he didn’t disturb them and provoke an attack lol 🤣
What a beautiful yacht!!! The drone video shows how beautiful it navigates. You’re so fortunate to being able all this at your age, amazing. And lucky to have a place to dock, you have no idea how lucky not to pay for docking, one thing kept me out owning a yacht. Keep posting, like this other guy said, o stopped what I was doing and watched your video !!! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you Hope to see you one day when you are around, I live in Miami.
Glad you guys are having a blast . Excellent video quality thank you for the entertainment. My entire house has some sort of plague and I haven't seen the water in a month.
I have had my small Jackery for a couple of years and it still works perfectly. I mostly use it to power my macbook when I work remotely. I bought the mini solar gen pack and I can highly recommend it!
Gus another way to cook steaks in the oven is use a low temp 325° for an hour. half on each side for one " inch .Then turn on the Broiler 10-15 minutes each side. You get a Juicy steak on the inside and crispy on the outside.
It's almost crazy to think that all the hard, exhausting, brutal, painful at times, work we put into our boats are for this exact moment and journey's!!!! Good going Gusto, im rooting for ya kid!!! Maybe some day I'll have the balls to go live out my dreams!!!!??
Josh another thought here I’m a US Navy veteran and a Navy photographer from 1970 to 1975. I’d be interested in paying for a little fuel for the privilege of photographing you for a few days when you get down to the St Augustine area. I’m also a former retired MAC Tools distributor and have do know a few people in the area if you might need some help while in my area. I left my email no big deal if you’re not interested. By the way I was a photographer on the USS Ticonderoga in 1972 and photographed the recovery of the Apollo 16 and 17 recovery the last two Moon Missions. I do take great photos for free.
Love your adventure. Watching from Amsterdam and as a fellow naval engineer I especially love the sound of those purring Detroit's. Looking forward to the next video. 🙏
Gus, I must say, YOU are the MAN!! I love your enthusiasm and your attitude is so positive, like all the time, I am amazed! I wish I were more like you man. I truly do. Compared to you, I am a negative Nancy! Even though I’m a dude. Wish I could hang with you on the Braward (or however it’s spelled! Please forgive me!). Safe travels mate!
Nice passage Gus. Good weather, good shipmates, engines rumbling smoothly. What could be better. Love your enthusiasm about ocean wandering. The Boward is such a bigger yacht than the Hatteras. Thanks for the video.
GREAT videos and content! Just love seeing the Broward cutting through the waves with your aerial drone views! Those stabilizers sure do smooth out the ride. Please continue to show the very interesting repair portions of your beautiful vessel. I think it's amazing how you analyze the problem, take an educated shot at what may be wrong and then attack the issue at hand - like a pro. I am truly enjoying your adventures.
This was the prefect escape from all of my problems this morning. It's so nice to see you living your dream. What a beautiful yacht and a fantastic crew. Happy Holidays Gus! Safe travels. See you on the 3rd!
That is the winners attitude! There will be mishaps along the way, but it's all on the path to success! Love what you are doing. You have the attitude to take you anywhere and do whatever. A get it done attitude. I respect it! Most people aren't like this.... But those people aren't crusing the ocean 😉
Thank you all for watching and for all of the awesome comments!

3:20 It’s always funny when you go from DC to AC back to DC. I guess the AH /WH is high enough to not even worry about the efficiency loss.

I knew Kip was not going to stand for your window washing technique.
My immediate thought as well. Why go all the way out there and get only half the windows!
Ha ha I was watching it with my pops and I told him there’s no way Kip is going to stand for that half ass window cleaning that Gus did.😂
@@matyasxfulop yep, it was almost disappointing watching Gus do that. Who would have thought?😂😂
I stopped what I was doing and turned this on right away
Same here.
Stop doing nothing to watch it too.
Same!
Yep - me too!
All you guys government workers?
93 years old! and really enjoying the trip! Great Video, looking forward to your next in Jan.
Thanks for sharing.

Gus you are living the dream! Thank you for taking us along!
Kip is a wealth of knowledge, what a good tag along for the journey. Absolutely loving this adventure. Best boating channel in my opinion.
Agree 💯
Agree 100%!
Only one that I’m watching these days
Start the steak in a hot pan. Sear each side, then put it in the oven. The sear will seal in the juice and flavor!!! Let it rest 5-10 minutes, slice and enjoy!!! Great series! We should all be so hard working and fortunate!
Oh I've always done that but in the reverse order lol
yeah, i prefer the reverse sear.
100% on the reverse sear method
Gotta love having an experienced and solution-focused crew. No complaining about the wipers not working, just get outside and fix them. That's the stuff that makes these videos special.
Anyone sitting around on a personal boat cruise complaining had better also be paying...
I'm from Newport News and had I been there when you hit Norfolk I would have taken the crew out to eat and wanted to come aboard. I'm 82 and would give eye tooth to do what you're doing. Bon Voyage to the Caribbean and I'll watch Jan 3rd.😊
A new InTooDeep video is the highlight of my week 🙏
I am thrilled you found someone who HELPS when you take them places and doesn't just hang out.
Certainly looks a thing of beauty when she is cruising!!
Gus and cam, and kip seem to be the dream team for your channel adventures
Man I've gotta tell ya. You've turned that old girl into "One Fine Piece of Class". Looked awesome from the drone shots slicing through that water.
So impressed with the Broward’s stability underway. That galley scene when you were serving up the steaks - not a ripple in that Tito’s bottle !!
I thought Gus had good work ethic, but old Kip showing these young boys up
You are living the dream! Thanks so much for sharing your voyage with this 72 year old Chesapeake Bay boy who would absolutely love to be with you on this trip! But, hey, I am… so to speak! Looking forward to Jan. 3rd for the next installment! Fair winds and following seas! Happy holidays!

Great to see you and the Broward doing so well. 😊
Kip is the best man such a awesome guy to have as a friend!
Treat your windshields with RainX and you'll hardly need the wipers.
Edit: ignore that.. just saw Kip doing it 👍
I find it great that despite the high workload from last episode, everyone seems to be smiling on camera. Thank you for showing your adventures on TH-cam. The crew and the way you guys get though the sea is pretty wild and it really shows on camera.

Those drone shots at 26min, KILLER!!!
Carving up the ocean!
Love it !
❤❤❤
Love my 1000v2 - thanks for letting us know about it!!! Runs my Nespresso machine silently when I get up real early!!
Mate, I love your films. I know nothing about boats at all, but love your enthusiasm and energy. Learning so much about stuff as I’m watch. Thank you for amazing content. Makes my week.
Great how you repaired and refurbished the Broward into the solid unit it is now. 👍
Glad to see the Broward is purring along trouble free. Continue to cruise and enjoy calm seas captain.
I've always enjoyed watching your adventures from the trawler to the Broward.

DAY UM! The L.I. Sound shots were amazing! Taking water over the bow! Also loved the offshore drone shots! Such a BEAUTIFUL yacht! Nicely done Gus!
Great watching the boat take 50 knots like a boss. Best from Auckland..
If I order a steak at a restaurant and they ask if I want A1, my response is, "I better not!" Great stuff man. I am living through you. I feel the same about Texas BBQ it's all in the dry rub and smoke. Great BBQ doesn't require sauce
Gus, that East River time-lapse and drone portions were AWESOME! Can't wait to see the most beautiful powered cruiser on the internet in those crystal clear waters....Moses < ❤
Hell yeah Gus she looks good in those drone shots. The wood work around the boat looks great
Don't leave the helm without a watch person. I almost had a major collision because I didn't insist my wife watch the helm. She did and it saved us from a collision with a shrimp boat.
This type of cruising is what makes all the sweat and blood fixing things worth!!!
Thanks Gus, your yacht is looking spectacular!🎉
Gus! The drone footage was stunning! Your beautiful craft and the statue both looked amazing; beautiful ladies! Keep up the great work. Stay safe!

Yee Yee!
Great video and equally brilliant music from Bastille and Roxette.🙌
Your new boat sure looks beautiful. You guys are going to have a blast in Florida, and the Bahamas. So good luck guys !!!
In Too Deep is what I got watching this. Everything around me didn't exist for a little while. So peaceful!
The last time I took a boat through that lock it was in February and we broke ice on the other side. Epic trip. Congratulations, and I hope it continues to go as smoothly. Glad you didn't get run down. Shows the importance of a good watch.

The drone shot of the Sincerity underway was epic!
That boat is a ripper!
49:22 that looks like it might be a seaweed ball, or kelp bed! Great video by the way. Everytime I see you post a video I drop whatever I’m doing and watch them. Keep up the great work!

Gus, you’re living the dream, Love the channel, keep em coming. you certainly chose the best 2 guys to go with you, Kip and Cam are awesome.
You are my "Alright-Alright" Sunshine !!
Gus. Love you so much. I’m so jealous. Keep doing what you’re doing. You are so blessed
I‘m impressed by your knowledge and ability. Great journey which is fun to watch.
And he COOKS TOO! Is there ANYTHING he CAN'T do??
Best watch on TH-cam right now. Pumped for the next vid!!!
Kip looks like he's in ultimate chill mode under that seat cover. I want to trade places with him.
It’s a way different feeling when you’re on your own boat out there looking at it than any other way I’ve been in that exact same spot it’s priceless
I have had my small Jackery for a couple of years and it still works perfectly. I mostly use it to power my macbook when I work remotely. I bought the mini solar gen pack and I can highly recommend it!
So proud of you Gus and the crew, smooth sailing.
That is a BEAUTIFUL boat!!!!!
Burning fuel and making memories. Thanks for sharing your adventure. Safe travels!
what a ride man! that boat is a UNIT!
Livin the life! Your yacht looks like a million dollars from the drone!
Yet another great video and of course great voyage. She is running well, knock wood, all your good work paying off. Well done Gus and Crew - John
Fantastic! Thanks for ep #2 Gus! Hope you have a wonderful holiday season!!!
Thanks! Great Way to start the day with your cheerful outlook on life. What could be better than boating? Now on with the adventure!
Gus another way to cook steaks in the oven is use a low temp 325° for an hour. half on each side for one " inch .Then turn on the Broiler 10-15 minutes each side. You get a Juicy steak on the inside and crispy on the outside.
Kip is so professional and does things that last and you don’t have to worry about
You have filled a Sampson shaped hole in my life. Thank you, Gus!
Thank you for bringing us along on this awesome trip.
It's almost crazy to think that all the hard, exhausting, brutal, painful at times, work we put into our boats are for this exact moment and journey's!!!! Good going Gusto, im rooting for ya kid!!! Maybe some day I'll have the balls to go live out my dreams!!!!??
That Jackery is awesome and not having to run the generator is a game changer.

Gus, I must say, YOU are the MAN!! I love your enthusiasm and your attitude is so positive, like all the time, I am amazed! I wish I were more like you man. I truly do. Nice passage Gus. Good weather, good shipmates, engines rumbling smoothly. What could be better. Love your enthusiasm about ocean wandering. The Boward is such a bigger yacht than the Hatteras. Thanks for the video.
The great Gus is back. Cannot wait to watch his lifestyle. Keep on keeping on with the great Gus.
Kip is the best. Cam is awesome too, but he's a kid... Kip is my age... LOL
I could just set you as my wake up alarm to start the day with unlimited positivity
Dude! Steaks not overdone!! Looks fantastic!! Still say you look like Jeremy Allen White in “Shameless”.
Some great content Gus Talented guy.lovely boat you have very envious, plus you have two great friends there .lots of Luck from the UK
GREAT videos and content! Just love seeing the Broward cutting through the waves with your aerial drone views! Those stabilizers sure do smooth out the ride. This was the prefect escape from all of my problems this morning. It's so nice to see you living your dream. What a beautiful yacht and a fantastic crew. Happy Holidays Gus! Safe travels. See you on the 3rd!

Thanks for the video. Always wanted to just go boating. Now is the time to make some memories.
That is the winners attitude! There will be mishaps along the way, but it's all on the path to success! Love what you are doing. You have the attitude to take you anywhere and do whatever. A get it done attitude. I respect it!
Most people aren't like this.... But those people aren't crusing the ocean 😉
I am with you dude. Nothing like being out on the ocean. I love it.
Perfect for a beautiful last day of fall morning in SE Texas! Even enjoyed a couple 🍻!
