The turbocharger with an electronically controlled bypass flap, as used in the K series Boosterjet 1.0 litre engine, allows for more precise control of the boost pressure and reduces turbo lag. However, it also adds complexity and cost to the system. The turbocharger with an integrated wastegate valve, as used in the 1.0 TSI engine, simplifies the system and reduces weight and space requirements. However, it may not be able to achieve the same level of boost pressure and responsiveness as the other type.
@Sunderdeep and @Munish-- Why you guys stress yourself about the length of the video. We love your content, it is really insightful. I can easily listen 1 to 1.5 hours of your videos. Great session Sunder Sir and Manish Sir! I have three questions for Manish Ji:- A) The 1.0 TSI tested with supercharger was EU Spec and made in some country of EU. But the Indian VW-Skoda cars have 1.0 TSI engines made in India. So, are the internal parts in Made in India engines as strong as the EU counterpart engine? B) I also asked about this earlier, please if possible cover it in the next video - GDI engines have a known issue by design that carbon deposits occur on the inner side of the valves because no fuel is sprayed directly on the valves, unlike normal MPI engines. So there is no fuel sprayed on it to automatically clean the inner side of the valves and because of the gases and unburnt fuel and engine blow-by, these carbon deposits are unavoidable. I learnt about this after watching numerous videos on TH-cam and did an in-depth research about it. The only way to clean these Carbon Deposits would be to open the Intake Manifold and use a Sand Blaster with Walnut Shells inside it and throw them directly on the Valves with a Vaccum Line to suck them back. This equipment according to my research is not available anywhere in India. Can you please share your thoughts on it. C) Recently I visited Skoda Service Centre because the Engine Oil Level in my Kushaq was a bit lower than the Maximum (I had to fill approx 200 ml - After 10K km). I asked for 0w30 engine oil as mentioned in the owners manual of the car, but to my surprise they said 0w20 is what they fill. They also showed me on their Laptop after putting in my VIN Number, it was showing 0w20 there. So my question is when/why did they change the recommended grade of engine oil from 0w30 to 0w20. {I would request Sunder Sir as well to check it in their Slavia Owners Manual about what Grade is recommended there} I would be grateful if these questions are taken up in the next video by Sunder Sir. Thankyou for the wonderful informative videos. Regards
This is the oil (low-viscosity 0W20 VW-508) in engine when it comes out of factory . Search utube and tbhp. All GDI turbo engine capable towards burning more ethanol (15%-20%) are looking after efficiency gain thus are shifting to 0W20. Mine is rapid 1L TSI, based on manual they put VW502/5W40 and 1st time in my life I observed engine smoothness decreased post oil change , I understood it was either 0w30 or 0W20 from factory.
I've driven ,virtus and slavia 1.0tsi ,both but never felt they are turbo powered...felt completely nosie free, and happy to revv engines... Nvh levels are top class
Wow 😮 really shocked to know this fact that VW runs their engines on 35% Only. They have still high potential ❤ agar 35 percent pe Aisa perform karati hai to even 50% pe kya performance hoga !
But we couldn’t see many cars of VW and Škoda which are kept more than 10+ years on roads? People are leaving that bcz of high running and repairs/high maintenance…etc don’t have peace of mind after the machine starts give more workers? Need to do some analysis as well for people
stage1 1.0 tsi vw virtus with valvetronic exhaust and all features unlocked, all in just 2 lakh the car will be one of one it will glide in normal mode, and roar in sports mode with exhaust opened.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Whenever I get a little tilted towards those interiors of the Koreans , you video comes up and explains me the wonderful German engineering. No doubt my next car has to be a vw one.
I really like how both of you are educating people about VAG cars and do agree with Hyundai engines being inferior to VAG's however when it comes to Japanese it's a completely different story, I do not know if the Japanese engines are tested as rigorously as Munishji said the VWs are, but market and global tuning culture has proven the strength of Japanese engines. My point here is Japenese engines shouldn't be called out along the Koreans (Just my opinion)
dont be bothered by his opinion he himself has zero idea about what he is talking about he doesnt have the basic idea about superchargers and turbo chargers and he is giving GYAAN about engine reliability and tuning
japan only made 2 engines which are capable of extreme tuning 2jz and vtech turbo and both of them cant match the tuning potential of a 1.8 tsi and 2L tsi even in supra they are using bmw engine even whole new supra is made by bmw
Maza aayega Munish ji and Sunderdeep Paaji...you guys make things so interesting..even a 15 year old kid like me understands everything...my respect for VW is increasing every day!! I would love to meet you and talk about cars all day!!
What a wonderful session Paaji! I was waiting for you both to discuss on remapping, especially on German engines. I am already exploring this industry since the past 2 years and I think you should start exploring it too. You will be much more impressed after knowing the tuning capabilities of Germans. And just a small correction for Munish Ji, Code 6 and all other leading tuning frims have already rolled out stage 2 remaps for the 1.0 TSIs and already cars are running those tunes. It is just the matter of time till the tools for reading and writing the 1.5 TSI ECUs are developed as their tunes already exist. Just imagine how fun these stage 2 cars would be! Really loved the video 😊
@@jethalalgada5 sad thing is I have already purchased slavia 1.0 last year ambition variant and 1.5 was not available in mid variant. Now I would have gone to 1.5

Brilliant video.. I have Skoda slavia 1.0.. love the car.. was planning to replace Honda Civic (2019) next year with KIA EV6.. but after hearing how German technology is far superior than Koreans, will definitely wait for a better EV from Germans house
Very insightful session. Just wanted to know one more thing. If 1.0 TSI is working on 30-40% pf capacity then shouldn't the VAG increase the potential since they are facing AC issues at slow speeds? 1.5 does not have this issue only 1.0 has. Maybe they are taming it bit too much.

Munishji,Can you tell some information about Honda's VTEC TURBO engine selling in other markets in next video Their 1.5 VTEC TURBO makes 180bhp stock where VW's makes 150bhp.. Also Honda not even considering turbo engines for indian market..If cost was the reason then vw wouldn't launched their tsi engines in india.. We can't forget that Honda launched City with Proper 1.5 VTEC, Accord V6 etc which was a rocket then realised that indians want mileage resulting VTEC to i-VTEC.. They should consider 1.0 and 1.5 VTEC turbos for India but I think they aren't considering because of mainly four reasons: 1. Very less sales volume, less profit 2. They r treating indian market as 3rd grade which they actually doing by not launching good cars like HRV, Civic,Crv,Brv etc 3. Reliability issues because of india's poor fuel quality and they don't want to spoil their name in Reliability 4. They want to focus on Hybrids instead of turbos as turbo engines delivers less fuel efficiency and hybrids delivers the most and indians want fuel efficiency that's why... I think honda makes one of the best engines worldwide and known for their reliability also...Last year's F1 race says it all..
golfR with same power as civic typeR being much heavy than civic still smokes the shit out of civic type r in drag and potential honda just makes cheap plastic shits whereas vw is all about premium feel

Can we have remap comparison with MPI and vtec engine? It is better to have apple (NA) to apple (NA) comparison. This will give the right picture of change in output after stage one. BTW 1.0 turbo ivtec with stage 1 map is rated at 150 BHP and 250 NM. Also when you talk about 1.0 TSI peak torque and compare it with 1.5 NA, can we factor in torque distribution of both the engines?
I can say this guy is really smart and know about what he is talking and we must to follow these people who truely tells people . Most people will not like this vedio may be because its getting technical and now a days people only love content which is more on fancy side But guys truely speaking we muat appreciate people like him who are giving the great content 🙌🙌
One point i would like to add/correct at 9:54..apart from only Map to differentiate power figures in Hyundai's Crdi engine was Variable geometry turbo and fixed geometry turbo. Venue/ i20's old diesel 1.4 crdi used to come up with Fixed geometry Turbo (FGT) which was little lazy where as creta and verna also came with 1.4 crdi ( FGT) in lower models and In higher models 1.6 Crdi Variable geometry turbo that was more more punchier. Nowadays only one 1.5 CRDI is coming but still in different turbos(FGT and VGT) with little difference in power and torque figures. FGT coming up with venue/ i20 i don't know if they have discontinued diesel variant in them but in creta/ verna they are giving only 1.5 Crdi VGT. Correct me if i am wrong.
They didn’t discontinued diesel in venue they discontinued diesel only in i20 and Verna …Instead New gen Verna got replaced with 1.5 Turbo Petrol …Still Creta Alcazar and venue having diesel with Ad blue filling due to BS6 phase 2 norms…
Thank u very much for this video Bhai.. waiting for full fledged video on engine remap.. Was always interested in this topic but didn't realise that Manish ji would speak positively about it.. Now very very excited for that video❤
This guys is knowledgeable, where can I reach him for guidance which car to buy?? And 1L VW has 4 valves 3 cylinder.. ideally it should be 4 valves 4 cylinder. that has more or rather ideal power to weight ratio. With 1.0L engine at lower speed it is stress to drive.
Man...I missed these videos as much as I used to miss Game of Thrones episodes...270bhp, 272Nm completely blew my mind...please make these videos more frequently...humble request!!!
Well all this discussion leads me to think whether VAGs entered the Indian market just to cater to a small bunch of enthusiasts or to get a decent mkt share, volumes, etc. Somewhere their priorities seem a bit misplaced. While I have no hopes from taigun/kushaq as they look a size smaller than their intended segment , Slavia/Virtus are great products and hope they do well. Also want to see polo GT back, which remains the best hot hatch till date ! One more observation- they reduced the fuel tank size of slavia/Virtus to 45 litres from the earlier 55 litres in Vento/Rapid......now that they are petrol only, they needed the larger tank for a good range.......and less pit stops😊......
Sunderdeep ji मन कर्ता है कि आप दोनों को सुनता ही जाऊ बस सुनता ही जाऊँ, . Dear care about video length, your subscriber want to learn about engine they all are car enthusiasm ❤ so please don"t care about length. I don't know ki आप ye padenge कि नही, but really I love your knowledge about engines.
Engines can make way more power than their original stock conditions. But in the process its life decreases dramatically. Look at the drag race engines, they are monstrosities in terms of raw power to displacement ratio they but cannot last more than one race. If you have to remap the ECU for more power, you need to change each stress bearing part right from the piston heads, pistons, crankshaft, gear teeth, clutches, driveshaft and everything. Otherwise the car is going be a pile of junk after few years of use. The same thing happened with VW TDi engines. The DSG was poorly designed and was unable to bear the stress of high power and it dented VW's name quite badly. Manish ji you know everything but you have to consider all these things too. VW can make a 1.0 TSI make 270 BHP so can any other engine available in market but they choose to set an upper limit to enforce reliability. Edit- If you just remap the ECU without doing hefty changes in the entire drivetrain ..lord have mercy on your car. Edit2- HONDA japanese engines are epitomes of F1 race since decades. Japanese tag is not equal to bad. You ignore the fact that Toyota is a Japanese brand and its Supra is a top tier sports car globally. You also ignore tha fact that VW tried to scam the world with dieselgate, the same TDi engines are your pearls of engineering marvel. This is not good manishji. Edit 3- Sundardeep Paaji, aap kuch bhi Mnishji jo bolte hai usko analyse karo pehle, fir daalo. Otherwise Knowledgeable audience dheere dheere door ho jayenge appki channel se.
Agree, engineering is all about creating a system to get best out of everything following pros and cons. Pretty sure German automobile engineers has reasons to keep the limitation. As owner of Virtus Topline which has 1.0 TSI, will keep it in stock configuration. The random tuners can never understand complexity of engineering.
Bro this guy munishji needs to stop talking cars and maybe take some gym classes mate. He’a even telling supercharger is next level of turbos. Like wtf man. The anatomy goes like this according to him 1. Turbo 2. Twin turbo 3. Supercharger 😂 Never heard of car with 4 superchargers. However, he doesn’t mention quad turbo setup. Ferrari don’t use supercharger in their cars. In fact Ferrari doesnt like forced induction in its engines. Most of the Ferraris are NA and few are turbo powered for obvious reasons. Get this dude out of here man
@@gsingh5812 very well said , this guy whoever he is has little knowledge about things and is just riding the skoda vw wave in INDIA but is doing more harm than good by spreading wrong information . this dude has no right to be talking about engines on a youtube channel. Superchargers are found on american sports cars mostly , while european counterparts take turbo charging way. yaha kuch knowledge voledge nai de rahe ye log bas Skoda aur Vw ke khas banne ki koshish chal rai kyuki Vw push mar rai hai apne 2.0 me to vahi bandwagon ride karna chah rahe
@@gsingh5812 I think what he means to say that superchargers don't have the lag which turbochargers have. So the anatomy should be turbo, parallel twin, sequential twin, and then supercharger. Also Ferrari's 288, 308,328 GTO and GTBs, F40, 488 Pista, California T, 296 GTB, and the SF90 have turbocharging

Against remapping scenes on German cars. Warranty > ECU map. I daily remapped Figo and had claimed warranty work but in case of VW they deny all warranty claims if a car is remapped. Moral, if you want more power buy a bigger engine forget remapping an euro car. Warrenty matters.

Great session Sunder Sir and Manish Sir! I have three questions for Manish Ji:-
A) The 1.0 TSI tested with supercharger was EU Spec and made in some country of EU.
So my question is when/why did they change the recommended grade of engine oil from 0w30 to 0w20. {I would request Sunder Sir as well to check it in their Slavia Owners Manual about what Grade is recommended there}
I would be grateful if these questions are taken up in the next video by Sunder Sir.
Thankyou for the wonderful informative videos.
Regards
0w20 karne lage? Hmm that’s interesting abhi maine pichle week hi service karayi thi magar dhyan nahi diya
Does the tuning improve fuel efficiency.... How much does it cost..approximately .
Wow 😮 really shocked to know this fact that VW runs their engines on 35%
Only.

So great
I really like how both of you are educating people about VAG cars and do agree with Hyundai engines being inferior to VAG's however when it comes to Japanese it's a completely different story, I do not know if the Japanese engines are tested as rigorously as Munishji said the VWs are, but market and global tuning culture has proven the strength of Japanese engines. My point here is Japenese engines shouldn't be called out along the Koreans
(Just my opinion)
Toyota engine also has such reliability reputation, in fact no one doubts Toyota longevity

Next I will ask Munish ji to dedicate a session on tuning only
@@SunderdeepSingh Yaa sure. And you should start exploring about tuning too!

Munishji,Can you tell some information about Honda's VTEC TURBO engine selling in other markets in next video
Their 1.5 VTEC TURBO makes 180bhp stock where VW's makes 150bhp..
They should consider 1.0 and 1.5 VTEC turbos for India but I think they aren't considering because of mainly four reasons:
1. Very less sales volume, less profit
2. They r treating indian market as 3rd grade which they actually doing by not launching good cars like HRV, Civic,Crv,Brv etc
3. Reliability issues because of india's poor fuel quality and they don't want to spoil their name in Reliability

I can say this guy is really smart and know about what he is talking and we must to follow these people who truely tells people .
Most people will not like this vedio may be because its getting technical and now a days people only love content which is more on fancy side
But guys truely speaking we muat appreciate people like him who are giving the great content 🙌🙌

Supercharger mini Cooper me milega aur Shelby cobra me bhi

Very insightful and not boring at the same time 👍🏼
Engines can make way more power than their original stock conditions.
The anatomy goes like this according to him
1. Turbo
2. Twin turbo
3. Supercharger
😂
Never heard of car with 4 superchargers. However, he doesn’t mention quad turbo setup.
Ferrari don’t use supercharger in their cars. In fact Ferrari doesnt like forced induction in its engines. Most of the Ferraris are NA and few are turbo powered for obvious reasons.
Get this dude out of here man
@@gsingh5812 very well said , this guy whoever he is has little knowledge about things and is just riding the skoda vw wave in INDIA
but is doing more harm than good by spreading wrong information . this dude has no right to be talking about engines on a youtube channel.
Superchargers are found on american sports cars mostly , while european counterparts take turbo charging way.
yaha kuch knowledge voledge nai de rahe ye log bas Skoda aur Vw ke khas banne ki koshish chal rai kyuki Vw push mar rai hai apne 2.0 me to vahi bandwagon ride karna chah rahe
Very well written, the end goal is to prove that all other engines apart from Germans are inferior.
