Before buying 1.0 AT Slavia, I drove back to back 1.5 and 1.0, 1.5 is just a charm. I drove Rapid for 10 years, 1.5 kms, it was a beast, so my inclination was towards 1.5 only however it is pricer one + engine is imported and in India it's assembled, however 1.0 is almost 90% localised.
DQ200 is an amazing gearbox with lower torque(~200nm) and I think VW did best this time

I remember i used to watch your videos when you had bought T-roc & now i came across these videos of 3.5L km & this discussion series. Its just amazing. Its good for people like us who are still skeptical about trying any VAG group cars for the first time. Considering its past.
This will good confidence to atleast consider VAG. just only concern is, wont be able to experience the true VAG experience as they have done some cost cutting in quality & performance. Like they used to give in Polo or vento.

Hello, Sunderdeep ji, Just like you I have been a VAG fan from a long time because of the fantastic tech, quality, innovation, luxury etc but more importantly with personal experience (octavia 2.0 TDI DSG with DQ250). Seeing your content really makes me happy that someone has taken initiative to talk on all this. Since in recent times Indian automotive market has been shocking as good companies like ford are leaving. But thankfully, with all the detailed knowledge provided by you and G.O.A.T Manish ji 🙏It will really help Indian buyers make a good decision in next purchase. This series has been really really amazing!! Hope you bring more such content. Ek important Question tha sir, it would be really helpful if you answer this. Sir, New 1.5 tsi engines are brilliant, and come with “CYLINDER DEACTIVATION TECHNOLOGY” which is good for mileage highway runs but I have heard that with time these have a problem of “OIL CLOGGING.” Is topic pe please ek baar charcha kare🙏. Ki kaise in engines ki reliability ko improve kiya jaye…etc. Abhi tak kuch khaas issue nahi aaye hai is cheez se related since the cars are new. But still Agar kuch precautions hoge to New buyers like me (looking for 1.5 tsi but sceptical about long term reliability) ke liye kaafi helpful hoga!! Once again, big fan sir plz continue this knowledgable series.

@@vader_117 Okay, but with VAG engines having cylinder deactivation, I have heard that when cars run in 2 cylinder mode, overtime due to free movement of pistons which are deactivated, it is results in oil clogging. I’m concerned about this because I’ve been looking forward to buy a 1.5 tsi. Thats why need some clarity…

    • @vader_117
      @vader_117 ปีที่แล้ว

@@baburaodhinchak you won't have oil clogging issue with cylinder deactivation but oil consumption issue can arise if they have not engineered the oil scrapper rings properly.....AUDI vw messed up the oil scrapper rings on ea888 gen1 n gen2 both 1.8 and 2.0tsi as they made the passage in the oil control ring small.....gen3 tsi are perfect.......if the 1.5tsi is a ea211 then its better to wait for reviews as the 1.5tsi had some common issues hope they solved it.....plus pre-emptive care and early oil changes will make these tsi engines last....if I had to buy a sedan I would blindly go for slavia 1.5 tsi manual

I read a lot about VW reliability issues today and it turns out not only in India but in US market also they are suffering with reliability issues because these cars were engineered for their domestic market i.e. Europe.
I am very optimistic about 2.0 though because of heavy localisation along with their proactively fixing of issues with their new cars

Also, why didn't VAG provide the DQ 250 instead of DQ 200 for their cars with bigger engines like the 1.8 TSI Octavia??? Their customers could have afforded paying some premium over instead of compromising the torque.

Good evening Sunderdeep ji and Munish ji. Your discussions and explanations are simply top notch and this has resulted in me booking a Virtus GT which I would be getting in the 1st week of Jan ( I was looking for Jan since there are very few days left this year and no issues waiting for a 2023 registration vehicle). Earlier I was looking at Seltos, Carens, even saw Harrier and Safari. When I first saw Virtus when it was launched ( even before prices were released) and saw numerous complaints of the DSG (I was very clear that I want an automatic and not a manual and was scared of the issues in 1.0 in Slavia, Kushaq etc), I literally stopped even thinking of VW. My interest in VW was rekindled after seeing your videos. I hope DSG doesn't give me problems and the ASS is fine. The very first time iam moving away from Maruti where ASS has never been a problem. I keep my cars for long. My current SX4 is now 13+ yrs and less than 65k on the Odometer. Hoping that with the limited running wont run into issues with DSG and issues with DSG reliability are permanently resolved by VW. Now it's time for me to think of whether VW insurance which iam getting for 40k is better or Acko for less than 30K and what accessories to buy.
Would like to thank you for all your videos and looking forward to more. Any suggestions on how to care for DSG would be very helpful.

When i drove virtus gt or taigun gt i felt the same sensation after 30km/hr as i am driving the same car even more punchy

But if you drive on highway everyday and over the months your average speed is 60-90 kph, then go for 1.5 tsi.

Ji , this info was amazing a simple request is to have a convo with manish ji about DSG only , at many places the topic got off tracked because of other topics . A simple video for all the general porpulation just and just about dsg and how to take care of it should be made . ❤

Thank you for discussing DSG in TDI . Appreciate it. Since i own a 2017 Rapid TDI AT now i understand my car's TCU is remapped and i hope Skoda has given extra protection for the water logging situation which Munish mentioned.
Will it be safe to say 1.5 TDI DSG should be best driven with a bit less enthusiasm after the end of the warranty period so that peak torgue is well contained
My Rapid is in it's final year of extended warranty period and so far I haven't got any problems with my DSG infact I am extremely Happy with its performance. Always gives me joy when I am driving. I never mind the lack of sudden surge of power in first 1.5 seconds in a standstill situation.
Can you please discuss how to ensure DSG in TDI work fine for existing Vento and Rapid owners like me who own remapped TCU DSG vehicle
Since we would not own a new TDI DSG vehicle. Which is a shame. So how to ensure this DSG problem never occurs or is avoided.
Appreciate if you can cover it as well.

@sunderdeep ji and Munish ji do we need to take any precautions while using the 1.5 DSG engine in city bumper to bumper traffic? Do we need to use the paddle shifter during this time or move to Neutral often?

Automatic ya manual, sabe me cheezen toot jate.
Important thing is with manual, you can control the wear, by doing some work.
I have seen the 18 speed trucks, bhai inme revmatching nahi kiya to shift nahi hota. Aur agar tum lever ko force karoge to bas lever haath me aajaega. Itna zyada torque rahega inme, ki kisi bhi clutches/synchros/drivetrain ko tootega.
Double clutching will save even the synchros, which work a lot in our day to day cars, even when you heel toe revmatch. Double clutching bhot mushkil kaam he especially under braking, mainly because majority of manufacturers make the ECU to cut throttle when you apply brake.
Its such a sad thing, ki jyada log dhyan nahi dete he ye saare cheezen pe, aur baad me 45k 50k clutch replacements pe spend karte he.

What do you suggest on signals and stops for more than 20 seconds recommend we shift to Neutral to protect the 1.5 DSG or keep on D but press the brake. Shifting to N better for me as can give feet rest.

If you are running at higher speeds for longer duration or accelerating harder then 1.5 is better because engine will run at lower RPMs (both engines can perform but larger engine will have lesser load on it)
