Top 5 Reasons Volkswagen Skoda Misses the Mark in India

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 6 ก.ค. 2024
- In this video, I discuss the recent acknowledgment by the Skoda CEO that the company has failed to understand the Indian market over the past 20 years. He believes that Skoda's cars are over-engineered for India, leading to higher prices that customers struggle to appreciate.
However, I believe the real reasons behind Skoda VW's struggles in India are different. Here are my top five reasons:
- Ignoring the Sub-₹12 Lakh Segment: Skoda VW has neglected customers in this crucial price range by not offering any vehicles under ₹12 lakh.
- Undersized SUVs: The existing SUVs from Skoda VW are small and lack the macho factor that Indian customers find appealing in the competition.
- Dull Interiors: Compared to their rivals, the latest Skoda VW models have less attractive interiors, which affects customer preference.
- Lack of CNG and Diesel Options: Unlike their competitors, Skoda VW does not offer CNG and diesel options, limiting choices for potential buyers.
Join me as I delve into these points and explain why these factors are critical for Skoda VW's success in the Indian market. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more insights!

Video is on point. Perfect analysis. India 2.0 should have been focused on building a cost effective sub 4m platform for India with which they could have continued Polo and a Nexon/Brezza competition. Taigun should have been much bigger. If these were adressed, just these, they would have been in a far better position. Today they dont have a single car which sells more than 3k cars monthly. Sad and pitiable. Looks like VW is destined to fail, purely because of their holier than thou attitude from the beginning. Management of VW India is bringing them down and nobody else!
Virtus is a polo sedan and taigun is a polo suv
@@SuperImbadude not really . Virtus and taigun were specifically designed for countries like India. Very practical cars. But polo was never a fully practical car

I Don't want VW grp to collab with MAHINDRA. Act on proper market research on requirement and emotion of customer. Well said Sunderdeep ji, Hope this reaches the management and they share this to Germany.
Again the loyal VW enthusiast will suffer who invested in VW cars despite compromising on features, presence, service issues.
I fear that due to this CEO comment July sales might plummet to below 1K.
A sad Day!
I agree
I can totally relate to your point at 11:00. I am that papa, i had shortlisted VW Virtus and Kia Seltos. My heart really wanted Virtus but it didn't appeal to my family. Nail in the coffin was the AC in 1.0 model.
When my family sat in seltos, AC was a chiller, coupled with a panaromic sunroof. Top notch fit and finish. I knew I had no choice but to go with seltos comprising on safety and performance.
We Indians are emotional people. We want best bang for our buck.
My insta/youtube feed is still full of Virtus. I keep crushing over it. But news like this kills that enthusiasm I have for VW.
I really felt they were nearing success in India. I so wish they remain solo rather than becoming a redbadged Maruti for Toyota.
Bro I am also in the exact same position 😭😭😭
Arey but family ki safety kaun compromise karta hai😮
But if have to convince ur family safety standout first .....

only faltugiri and blaming India market. looks like that $2B is also a fake number. I did not see any good car from VW yet matching what their global brand recognition is. just putting poor version of their known cars.

I recommend Volkswagen to appoint @Sunderdeep Singh as independent advisor who has been giving clear message on what we need. Then VW may not require local partner if we have multiple models. Taigun and Kushaq can be called as sub compact SUV or MPV
This is a good idea. VW needs a direct customer feedback and Sunderdeep ji can be a consultant who will give direct feedback.
Correct.... Sundar ji aap VW ke sales advisor hone chahiye
I second you
I completely agree with you. he understand Indian market and where vw is lagging
His expectations are not practical because of the tax system India has and the big problem: Indian mentality of buying a car
This video needs to reach VW India group !
Yes, VAG cars do qualify as being over-engineered. The TSI engine is a gem. Its a hoot to drive when you floor the accelerator while it gives brilliant fuel economy when you are just coasting along. 1.5 TSI comes with cylinder de-activation technology. For as simple as removing the headlight switch completely in 2 seconds to installing it back in 2 seconds is what can be termed as an over-engineering car. There are many more examples which I can mention.
We as a nation can never have VAG cars selling in numbers. VAG can only play in a niche market because we want value for money products. In order to make value for money cars, manufacturers have to cut costs on many fronts which is against the DNA of VAG. If VAG starts making cars similar to Kia/Hyundai or Maruti, then why would I buy VAG cars.
Solution:
1) Make Skoda cheap and affordable and make VW premium or vice-versa.
2) For every model, be it a Slavia or Tiguan, offer Torque Convertor gearbox along with DSG, as it is for many Scandinavia markets.
3) Offer 10yrs/2L kms warranty on DSG gearboxes offered in India. If you can have this warranty for the Chinese market then why not for India.
4) DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY ARRANGEMENTS WITH MAHINDRA. History is filled with instances where they have killed all their partners for whatever reasons. Also, VAG management will never agree for M&M advises. Skoda and VW are strong brands in India.
5) Train your salesmen. They frankly do not even know about the cars that they are selling. A short TH-cam video will give you more information than what you get at showrooms.
Frankly Volkswagen group isn't as strong as it was during Ferdinand Piëch's era which ended in 2018. He could be termed as Steve Jobs of VW Group.
well said and I strongly agree with no . 4
They should make their spare parts available in the local market, that’s the simple hack to win Indian market they need to crack.
Same mistake was done by Ford also in India .
Biggest problem with these brands is they don't listen to the customers
Same with Honda, they have launched the Elevate but without panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats,no multiple engine options,no features,no crash test rating etc resulting sudden decrease in the sales..I talked with one dealer,he said he has 2023 stock.. people aren't even considering the Elevate because of better feature loaded options, engines options available and now they have provided standard 6 Airbags, 3 point seatbelts etc from base variant but they are waiting to clear the existing stock then they will start the production of new variant with added safety features..
I was a honda fan but now stopped supporting them because what the use when they aren't listening to the customer who is considered as a KING👑 and the top officials are from japan and how they will understand the Indian market which itself is very difficult to crack.. VW's Mr Guptaji is trying very hard from his side but it's always the headquarter which handles every decision..
In future,we will be left with 4-5 brands only and we will see their monopoly.
Firstly, Honda has not invested 2 billion dollars and they are also exporting well. They are not burning cash, hence fact is, Honda is very profitable company with 3 models in India.

@Saahilll almost couple of years back, none of the auto OEM have put 2 billion dollars like VW/Skoda have as 2.0.
Look at what Toyota did. First they brought Qualis which proved its mettle by being very very reliable and low on maintenance. Then came Etios and Liva. Though they were budget segment, but they became big hit with taxi segment. Toyota then becane synonymous with reliability. Ask any Innova customer. I have heard taxi drivers say, "Saab, 4 lakh kilometer se upar chal gayi hai gaadi". Imagine, 4 lakh + kms and no reliability issues. Just regular maintenance. That's what people want first. Rest all things later.
Spot on!
True. That's why people don't think twice before buying 35 Lacs Innova Hycross or 50Lac Fortuner. There is waiting for more than a year in Hycross
Yep
Yes. But now toyota has changed its strategy and now doesnot offer single car affordable to cab drivers now. any variant of innova is less than 30 lakshs. Toyota rumion tho rebadge of ertiga which is not a good cab car for reasons unknown.
@@SAIPRADEEP070 You are right. Toyota has indeed changed its strategy. They had to. They were on the brink of quitting India when diesel engines of more than a certain capacity were banned (a few years ago). That's when they had to launch a petrol engine in Crysta in order to remain relevant in the Indian market and I think it around that time only when they began thinking of partnering with Suzuki (the world over, not just in India). They discontinued Liva, brought in Glanza. They discontinued Etios but did not bring Ciaz equivalent (which they did in some other countries). Instead they got the Brezza's cousin Urban Cruiser. Though their numbers were not comparable to that of Maruti Suzuki (for Baleno and Brezza), at least they saw increased sales and increased footfall. They realized in time that in a country like India, they need a local partner and even world over 'cause they were struggling in the small car segment.
From that standpoint, VW's decision to look for a local partner is not a bad decision at all. They should just have chosen their words more carefully.
Valid analysis , tdi alone would have almost tripled the sales imo… Though i am happy i have both taigun and virtus gt ❤
Skoda’s CEO also said that ‘over-engineering’ was a misstep for the Indian car market in the past and its new lineup, specifically the compact SUV that’s coming by March 2025, is set to change that. “We have a lot of lessons learnt in the Indian market. Often we build (a) car according to our own expectations. They tend to be over-engineered. And that comes at a price tag. And of course that's something that weakens your competitive position,” he said.
He added that the company needs to learn and be aware of the sweet spot. "That's what we're after. We want to build the cars that customers in India are willing to pay for. And this is a lesson we continuously need to learn. Our price position versus competition is very ambitious. The idea is to provide a car that's even better than what's typically being catered to, in that segment," he said.( Autocar )
Isn't this part to worry about quality issues now ?

a company that spent $2B is not stupid to not research well. thats impossible. It was their sheer ego that damaged them, plus the babudom they must have suffered - no one telling the truth to germans while their local tema here was focussed on bonuses and promotions.
Just make the car bigger.. taigun and kushaq dismal dimensions is one of the biggest factor why it's not selling much. It was a no brainer.
Over engineered is a disrespect for Indians. And I dont understand why a lot of people abuse indian people for not making the right choices for car. Its true that we value features a lot but isn't the same brand offering hell lot of features with newer models in europe? These brands including koreans still treat us as a 3rd grade country. Audi is also struggling here despite of giving more discount whereas bmw merc doing fine. These guys will learn lessons once ev chinese manufacturers eat their pie worldwide. Hyundai and kia card doing great in safety in euro ncap but indin versions are not doing great. Sometime I dont even trust gncap. Most of the people dont even know that earlier they were only testing frontal crash. They updated the test with side impact and all of a sudden tata vw skoda started offering 6 airbags as standard. People should smell these hacks😂
VW lineup have major deficiency in their present lineup :-
1. They don’t have a hatchback in their lineup in order to compete with market Japanese and Korean queen, they should bring back polo or fabia with multiple engine options.
2. They don’t have a fleet vehicle (sedan) in lineup with performance proved CNG powered MPFI engine in order to compete with fleet taxis sales. As turbo charged petrol engines are not economical for taxis.
3. Current lineup is not having CNG powered 1.5L MPFI engine as completion in market is offering with hybrid options and few have diesel options also available. Many consumers require engine efficiency over turbo thrill.
4. Air condition of VW Skoda is not as good as others in same segment.
5. Genuine Spare parts are difficult in procuring in aftermarket
Very well said. I was in the market for 15+ car and was serious about Skoda/VW but then i realized after spending 15-18 lakhs, i will get 10-12 mileage on a fuel whose prices would only increase. If they had sub-4m suv with 12-15 range, those would have been more affordable as a customer. Not everyone is earning 30-40 lpa but everyone dreams about owning a big car, India is going through premiumization, iPhones have become common, there are more 12+ lakh cars on roads and despite all these signs, VW and Skoda, the most aspirational brands for average Indian, they still not have been able to crack the market, it's their only fault, saying we over-engineered cars for Indian market is simple disrespectful.

Honda is also following VW's path. They too appear arrogant with their product lineup. Elevate could have been a game changer with hybrid. Also, the car lacks basic features like TPMS. This is why it is now struggling to sell in Indian market.
Firstly, Honda has not invested 2 billion dollars and they are also exporting well. They are not burning cash, hence fact is, Honda is very profitable company with 3 models in India.

Being a tech entrepreneur myself, i truly value over engineering, innovation and required product updates. I waited five months, from January to May 2024, for Skoda or VW to launch any facelift or updates such as ADAS, a better 360 camera, a dashcam, or improved interior, seats and overall comfort. But they just changed the color and kept launching the same car repeatedly without any significant changes. I am buying a car in 2024, so why would I choose the same old model made back in 2021? Then being angry i bought Creta N Line N10 DCT, priced at 24.40 Lakhs and my game is over for VW. Ps. Creta N Line is beast.
Brother I am an owner of Ford Ecosport with 1.0L Ecoboost engine which was launched in India at a time when people didn't knew jack about Turbo engines. With 125PS of pure power many people won't be able to get that feel and thump in any other NA car. I Can understand your concern and pain. Ford unfortunately left in 2021 by giving these same statements. Sooner or later VW will exit India or have to overhaul their strategy from scratch. I was planning to go for VW Virtus 1.5TSI but now I have to be on wait and watch mode. Fingers crossed.

As a Taigun owner, I've observed few more things in the mid-range variants compared to similarly priced competitors. In addition to its size, road presence, and underperforming AC, it lacks features like push-button start, LED lights, and a sunroof, all that are available in similarly priced seltos, creta!! Furthermore, the backseat is narrow and can't comfortably accommodate five passengers like Creta and Seltos.

Insightful video paaji.. Good this see your honest feedback to VW/Skoda with all the valid points and without mincing any words. 🙌
VW should not partner with desi local brand because of a very poor record of partnership..jinse partner kiya tha wo chala gya india se..
Also In the engineering of 7∅∅,they have used ford for each and everything as making a car like 7∅∅ from ground level wouldn't be possible for a desi local brand.Even ford's version of 7∅∅ was planned but didn't happen..
They will eat all technology,R&D of vw and use it in their cars & will break the JV.
Desi local brands don't want tax cuts on hybrid cars because they don't have hybrid technology and they opposed it on Japanese OEM's proposal to the govt to reduce the taxes from 43% to 15-20%..This would have increased the chances of more investment, localisation of hybrid technology in India but again desi local brands don't want it.. I'm pissed off from that day..
Government is taking too much tax and these local brands are also doing harm to Indian consumers!!!
I didnt see any better comment but this is just the perfect analysis .
Yes Mahindra ( a desi local brand ) is not a good partner in each and every crucial aspect .
They ditched their own partner ( ford ) and used them for engineering of their vehicle .
I hate mahindra for their lack of sensitivity to everything be it user experience , engine durability .
Alas , i dont want Vw ( a global giant ) to parter up with mahindra .
Or else going to buy one of their cars before this partnership .
Very rightly said about Ford's stolen technology and then ditched Ford. Come on customers you got to read this or at least share this guy's comment as far and wide as possible. Every car owners and future owners has to know this.

Imho the issue is not catering the 10-12 lakh bracket customers and having a very small line up of only 3 cars in which 1 is a lot expensive for the middle class buyer. Really cannot understand the fact that if a sub 4 meter skoda suv can be made then why not a sub 4 meter hatchback can be developed by the VW group. My friend drove our Taigun and convinced his father to go for the same. Only when people will drive and realise themselves how good the cars are only then they will buy them and in order to so they need to cater the lower segment and make them realise how good the cars are , increasing people’s confidence in the brand which will then also allow them to sell their expensive models in the future as well to the same customer
I highly agree with you. Their cars are engineered at its best and they feel very good. But the thing is they only offer is turbo petrol engines instead of NA engines which they should offer this option for the buyers who don't want to go with turbo engines. Tata, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai they offer so much options and at different price brackets. This is what is missing from VW and Skoda. They are not offering hatchbacks, compact sedans, which VW tried with Ameo but it felt like Polo with boot at the rear, but didn't succeed because it looked awkward.
VW and Skoda should travel India properly and listen to customers very well what customers needed, or better they consult with brands like, Hyundai, Kia, Tata and Mahindra who have so many options at variety of prices which caters customers better with more variants, engine and gearbox combos. This is where it gets very challenging for VW and Skoda as they like to maintain the top notch quality and cannot compromise for Indian market.
Like other brands like Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai and Kia, they should offer an MPV, Compact SUV, 7 seater SUVs, compact sedans, premium hatchbacks etc. with NA and turbo engines of small and large capacity, manual and automatics, petrol, diesel, mild-hybrid, CNG as well as have larger network instead of having network in select places where they feel they are capable of buying a well-engineered vehicle.
But there is no getting away from the fact that they'll not leave India because they find this a mature market and what these two Germans need is a lot of exploration in the market, take a look at each example of vehicles being offered for the customers.
Didn't get your point @sunderdeepsingh ji at 13:42 .Are you saying 1000cc Turbo is better than 1500 cc Naturally aspirated engine ??
In terms of power and torque 1.0 turbo is better than 1.5 NA, but yes in 1.0 turbo there is lag in the beginning until the turbo kicks in. As far as vibrations are concerned, there will be a difference between a 3 cylinder and 4 cylinder unit. 3 cylinder one will have more of vibrations and will be more noisy as compared to a 4 cylinder unit.
Amazing video. It shows your research and your understanding of the Indian passenger car market and also shows how pained you feel when you express anguish over the missteps taken by VW in India

Good video sir!! Vw need to keep advisors like u enthusiasts and not partner with some local brand. User feedback should not be ignored and work upon.
The one thing they should first change is to eliminate the turbo engines and bring NA 4cylinder engines.I've always said Turbo engines are not meant for Indian market due to its various drawbacks. If you are only focussing on turbo engines you cannot target the masses.
1.Eliminate the turbo engines and bring NA 4 cylinder engines but yes u can keep turbo options also.
2. Increase size of vehicles.
3.Improve service availability.
4. Invest in marketing
Increase size
Maybe 1 inch bigger than creta
Because of size only it suffered
We Indians want bigger size
In fact current Kushaq size is good for city
Yea bcuz Vw provides 1.6 L MPFI Petrol engines in their Virtus which they sell in Latin America
@@cartech.4011 not elimate but make lowest non-turbo variant segment also.
size of vehicle - many bought taigun/kushaq for its compact size - who lives in dense cities. Adding L version or a different category car makes more sense.
The quality they provide , and their engineering with lot of taxes makes it very difficult to make affordable cars for VW/Skoda.
Even if one single feature is missing in car (that may not even be useful) , people in India dont buy that car , because majority in India is not worried about quality, driving dynamics , driving pleasure , safety.
All they want is Features.
And some brands in India has ruined our customer demand portfolio by giving then Plethora of features , diverting customers attention from handling, braking, safety etc etc.
Nailed it sunderdeep in a very common and simple language
If VW launch Polo GT again in price bracket of 8 lac to 10 lac. Definitely the figure of sale increase by 10,000 units per month.

I have booked a skoda slavia 1.5 prestige (previously style) MT in dehradun. After this news should i go ahead to buy it or should i reconsider my options? A reply from anybody would be very appreciated.
You should go with plan B as this story is going like Ford's way.
Definitely cars are good and fun to drive, if you think you value it most over hits and niggle of service and interior quality and will feel sad about leaving them India, just buy one with a good discount. But if not then go with plan B. There will be other fun to drive cars in future. Its not a dying market. If mercedes able to sell good amount of car in his segment there will be somebody selling good fun to drive in 20-40 segment. I saw bmw 3 series 2 year old at 35-40l on spinny. Leaps and bounds better driving feel that vw. Even ford used to make better fun car in 7-13l segment.
Hope the management listen to your inputs ver well said

Hope this video is learnt by vw officials properly. Very well stated Paaji.
You are spot on. I have been waiting for a Polo in some form, nothing has happened. Still hanging on to my old Polo. Some cool features like opening the windows from outside were removed in Taigun and Virtus citing chip shortage. It has still not come. 6 air bags should have been made the standard when Taigun and Virtus launched.
They are working their level best to disappoint you. They will probably be bringing out a crossover with the name Polo 🤡
Customer is king, simply give what customer needs..
Great analysis Paaji. I don't even feel like discussing these points over and over again coz I'm fed up of the officials and their decisions at Skoda and VW🤦🏻♂️
agree
I have booked taigun top line 1.0, should I cancel it ?
No Bhai
Fantastic & candid analysis of skoda & Vw group
If VW really want to increase their sales they have to concentrate on the below points
1. Spares availability in the local market
2. Bringing back polo (7- 10 lakh)
3. Basic to feautristic options or trims availability
4. Competitive pricing and variants
5. Service centres
Kaafi dino ke baadPaaji bahut saari baatein aapne on point kahi hain....1 imp cheez jispe inhe kaam karna chaiye wo hai customer feedback and they need to knitpick those customers who owned multiple vehicles of their brand in past 10 years and are still owning their 2.0 products......Such customers together can provide them with the best feedback to improve business........And above all they need to work on their after sales and learn from toyota because their after sales service and customer ignorance by dealerships is making the loyal customers switch to other brands too
Paaji ek baari mail ka reply krdo pls....
Very well said. I love cars. I have a Rapid 1.6TDI. Dont feel like selling. But aap ne aise samjhaya hai ke kya bole.. you are just spot on. Keep it up and best of luck.
Very pertinent points Sunderdeep. Fully agree with this analysis.
Sir,Which car is best within 20lakhs ,
700, Virtus GT, City Hybrid and Elevate
Very well explained bhai
That's the best line you talked about "the train and buying the car" - emotions of the family and people.
A good analysis of the brand, and YES a change is needed. Even this apply to Honda. I have checked mParivahan stats and it shows Hyundai and Kia on top demand.
Speechless.. very well said. Dil jit liya ❤
I vote Sunder ji for VW India head! You spoke like with so much of pain and hope. Waiting for my Kodiaq now, I am second guessing my booking after they made such statements.
Good analysis as always 👌 Volkswagen should ask and listen ppl like you who already own 3 VW group cars...
Sir why dont you suggest something and approach vw group and skoda for what all indian customers require and how they can improve there sales .
I’m a Skoda Kushaq owner myself and I agree with all the points discussed by Sunderdeep ji . No one in my locality understands why I got a Skoda because these brands are associated with poor resale value , high cost of spares , poor fuel efficiency and lack of plush interiors . I keep defending my decision that the driving dynamics are unparalleled, the safety is top notch , the warranty packages offer peace of mind , timeless design and “ appropriate sizing “ but still they think I bought it purely to showoff 😂.
Indian customer is extremely sensitive and calculative and doesn’t get sold easily on features that are missed that other competitors offer .
I honestly believe , VW / Skoda should have brought a sub 4 meter car to the Indian market first with all desirable and aspirational features . At a later stage , they should have brought the Taigun/ Kushaq with slightly bigger dimensions and the same features so that it would tick all boxes . I also want to point out that this time , with the Skoda sub 4 meter SUV , they can’t afford to have any issues like EPC, Rattling noises , AC issues etc because if these issues appear again , they will be in trouble .
All in all , nothing is lost . They can still get back to the game with a bang if they pay attention atleast now or else , VW/Skoda will meet the fate of Ford too . I’m still a proud of my Kushaq and will keep him for a very long time because I’m an auto / driving enthusiast and a genuine fan because their cars are indeed special and built well . Wishing good luck to VW / Skoda for the future .
all these languages but bai chose to speak fact. Every word well thought and backed up with perfect reasoning. great video
1st segment 8.5L to 12.50L 2nd segment 12L to 16.50L 3rd segment 15L to 22.50L nikalni chahiye indian market ke liye
One hundred percent honest and genuine openion i dont know why VW doesn't get that.
Meri 12k basic ki server hui hai for VW Vento TSI DSG. Its quite high
Biggest blunder was not launching polo
Not catering under 10L buyer.
People who would hv bought 10L polo as his first car would def get costlier cars 5yrs down the line once he has more money
Paaji, you need to be in the member community of Volkswagen India for sure. U better know how to save n built vw market in India but sadly the management in vw is not taking your words seriously yet. The day they start listening to you n work on the points you highlight obviously after careful n meaningful analysis, then nobody can stop vw from being one of the best selling car brand in India. I so wish VW watch this video n without wasting much time work on the factors n lauch atleast the car segment in the likes of polo n venue.
Sahi baat kaha aapne, Sunderdeep Bhai.
Hum Bharatiyon koo matlab with value for money cars. Hume is baat se zyada koi matlab nahi ki car kitne overengineered hain, kitne high performance hain, sirf matlab hain kaise humare kaam chal jaaye. ISiliye Chevrolet Cruze, Opel Vectra, Maruti Ritz, Maruti SX4, Maruti S-cross, most of the cars by Volkswagen and Skoda, ityadi cars kabhi bikri huye nahi.😢
kitni sensible baat ki hai apne bhai ji :)
motivated by your videos i tookout my 2011 vento highline petrol ,sent it to nearest vw dealership to ractify few nagging issues .
estimate given was 50k plus .
got the vehicle back yesterday.
disappointed . am seeing worst ever performance of the vehicle vehicle.
clueless what went wrong......
how can i share the details ?

Well said.
I’m having 2015 Polo highline fully satisfied and don’t want to sell will keep it for next 5 years atleast, but now looking for a 7seater between 27-32 lakh budget in VW/Skoda
I don’t have options other than taking Hycross /Hector+/ XUV700/ Safari
I’m ready to wait for 1-2 years but sad VW/Skoda no plans for launch with that budget 7 seater 😢
Sir u r right
Your critic is absolute
Paaji apan itna sochte hai brand ke baare mai par brand khud improve karna hi nahi chahta toh kya karsakte hai
Super Paji..width of Taigun / KUSHAQ is narrow…they at least have car where 3rd person be comfortable in back seat…they should bring VW THARU
THE MOST TO THE POINT VIDEO
when me and my dad wanted to buy a car....our budget was 12 lakhs and none of the top models of the vw group cars were available
Bhai quality kaha se laoge saste me, vw ka koi comparison nahi hai
Should learn from Toyota I have Innova crysta no headache of service best service and less maintenance than Volkswagen and more reliable I loved Toyota
well said, under 12 lakh segment is totally missed by vw and skoda in India. and even 12 lakh + cars from them dont look at par.
I sold my Polo recently. Selling a high percieved value Car at much lower price than expected. Even I went to VW dealership to get it evaluated. They offered 1.25 lac for a 9 year old car.
If they themselve cannot value their product, how can they expect the customer to do so.
And on that day, I decided I will not buy VW car again.
And they are wondering why they are failing in India.
When SKODA & VW starts their cars with CNG. Then they are unbeatable!
If a brand can't compromise on Safety, structural rigidity or engines then it failed to crack the indian market..
Those are on the top 5 position are the example of either bad engines or poor safety..But covered everything with either features or engines or reach, resale etc
it's a fact that we can't deny
What about mahindra? They tick all the boxes
@@Vajantara Mahindra is actually the closest one to VW. The electricals in Mahindras are less reliable than in a VW though. But engines, handling and safety are close. Own a Virtus and an XUV300. VW is ahead in its engineering definitely!
Toyota and Mahindra tick all those boxes and they're doing very well in India.
Superb analysis and reading of Indian market. VW are great cars but miss on too many points.
That's true, my family was looking for a secondary car under 10L and i really wanted to go for skoda, but because of the budget i couldn't even recommend it, if there was polo available in the market, I guess I would have convinced them for that
Does it need "over engineering" to fix simple niggles in VW 2.0?
God knows what type of over engineering they did to their car. Agree their engines are good but most of the engine and gearbox are shared between all sister companies so R&D is also getting shared with them like Mahindra. Its just a bullshit egoistic term. Once in a lifetime they developed a dsg and they keep on using each and every cars despite failures in india. Their performance cars still use 3rd party sources automatic gearbox and people think dsg is everything. Let them leave😅.
Personally own a kushaq and 100% satisfied but Diesel option would have been the game changer for these Skoda vw companies
VW sells all types of cars in UK 7 seater sahran(innova of London),polo, golf,up!,Passat and many more
We need all these in India to compete with Hyundai and other brands
