    Dr Berg notes:
Magnesium is involved in hundreds of biochemical reactions that help prevent common problems such as atrial fibrillation, high blood pressure, insomnia, heart disease, leg cramps, and fatigue. Many people are magnesium deficient, but it’s almost impossible to test! Only 1% of your magnesium is in the blood-the rest is inside the cells.
Some common causes of magnesium deficiency include:
    •Genetic weakness
    •Low stomach acid
    •Prediabetes or diabetes
Magnesium depends on vitamin D, which many people have a genetic problem with. Vitamin D deficiency inhibits the proper function of magnesium in the body. You need a minimum of 10,000 IU of vitamin D daily.

Magnesium glycinate has an 80% absorption rate and also helps with sleep. Magnesium controls calcium, so you likely have excess calcium if you're magnesium deficient. Too much calcium causes cramping in the calves, high blood pressure, and arrhythmias.
Smoking, alcohol, soda, refined sugars, starches, and certain medications can all contribute to a magnesium deficiency.
Leafy greens, pumpkin seeds, chocolate, and nuts are the best food sources of magnesium.
You won't see results if you don’t give magnesium enough time to work. It takes at least 1 to 3 months to see results from magnesium.
Digestive issues like constipation or diarrhea can greatly affect your ability to absorb magnesium. Chronic stress and exercise can increase your magnesium requirements.
You can increase magnesium absorption by spreading your doses throughout the day rather than taking it all at once. Try drinking apple cider vinegar mixed with water to acidify the stomach and increase magnesium absorption.
    Thank you Dr Berg!
    😺👍

I have learned that your body absorbs magnesium a lot quicker through the skin than via your stomach. Magnesium oil gives instant relief with restless legs and also cramps. Taking (foot) baths with plenty of Epsom salt is also a great way to up your magnesium levels.

Epsom salts are generally magnesium sulfate.
I started using Magnesium flakes by Ancient Minerals (Amazon) that are magnesium chloride and that was a game changer for me. Huge huge difference between them. The flakes also act as an exfoliate for your skin. The 1st time I used it I had so much dead skin coming off as I was toweling off.

Well that's weird.. I couldn't walk 10 steps without major pain from lactic acid build up, low oxygen, gasping for air! Intense lower back pain, it was all so debilitating, I couldn't even clean my own house, no grocery shopping, all I could do is sit here.. very depressing to say the least! I started out taking Magnesium glycinate, but fell asleep.. that isn't going to fly with me, I have things to do! So, I started taking Magnesium Malate and now I can breathe, the pain level went from a 10 down to a 3 or 4, I can clean my house and go shopping. I still have to take breaks, but nowhere near what I had to do before! I also started taking Copper after a few days of taking magnesium, which also helped. I'm not 100% YET, but I'm way better! The weird part is, I didn't take any Vit D3/K2 at all.. which I only take your brand and swear by it.. but the Magnesium Malate worked without it. My labs came back and my vitamin D is fine, so I'll just continue to do what I'm doing for now because it's working.

Lot's of engergy! Before this.. very sluggish/terrible sleep, and felt very unhealthy.. The Keto stuff is AVACADOS, and almond flour chaffles ocassionally+ berries. But 6+ out of 7 breakfasts are ALWAYS eggs/baccon/avacado. Lunch is always meat/dinner is always meat (beef, chicken, fish/sardines or smokedoysters in water only).

Dr Berg, I take magnesium Glycinate, the tablets are 1500mg per serving , however the bottle states that one serving gives you 315mg of “elemental magnesium” does that mean that I’m not actually getting 1500mg when I take a serving , I don’t want to take too much , but worry I’m not actually getting enough. please can anyone help

I agree. Not all answers are here. But if someone has these symptoms, they could try taking D3 (K2 as well) with magnesium and see if things improve. Otherwise, get that special test. If side effects occur, get off. Every one of your questions are mine too, then some. Like, what if someone is low in potassium, then wouldn’t there be a huge imbalance?
