What I have seen and heard, hydraulic breaks are the only breaks you can use with 1 finger. GPS as a speedometer test. From my experience, GPS userly shows a faster speed then then your actual speed. 1-3 MPH for me. Battery randomly cut off at 14 miles 1 time. If the display shows accurate battery levels and trip odometer mileage, got to pay better attention to the display. Also keep in mind that in very windy conditions can greatly reduce your range and speed. By about 50 percent from my experience.
Great overall review! I have some videos of my Mantis Pro as well. Regarding the wobbly rear hub motor/wheel section I had it on the front and the rear. Front was more noticeable but you'll have to check it on eye level as you may want to put it on a lift or something. Look BOTH sides to see where the unevenness is at. Make sure the tire is seated properly. If not, loosen the 6 hex bolts and work your way around the tire/rim area. You have to also Loctite some of those bolts since it's metal on aluminum and it will loosen with use. And be cautious about the inner tube's nipple while moving the tire around. If you've done all that, then it's the axle which I don't think is that easy to bend since it's solid steel. Good luck and ride safe.
I got my 10x 24ah 3 days ago already put 50 miles on it. My speedometer seems to be about 2 miles per hour shy, according to gps. So I can safely say I have gone like 42 as my top speed
I have the pro version with minimotors display and bigger battery, zoom brakes are OK so far. You have to tighten all screws before you ride and the after first few rides. I also reploeced the bigger bolts (under the stem, and for front and rear suspension) with higher grade steel. I also replaced the elastomeric tubes in the springs to tighten the suspension, bought them from a french website as I'm in EU. There are videos on TH-cam how to waterproof the deck, also you need minimotors display the cheaper one you have in the base version isn't rain proof. They show how to put silicone around the edges when you open the deck and the meter. I had to ride in a heavy rain to return home once, it was not sealed and nothing happened :) suspension gets noisy after some time with dust in the springs and elastomer, don't bother to clean it. I clean disk brakes only with a special alcohol that's it. I also had to put extra glue under the rubber carpet on the deck. So far nearly 1000 miles, all good even tyres are still ok. Always add full pressure to the tyres, 3.5+ bar. I removed the rear mud guard it didn't make any sense. My wheels are well centered, there is a French TH-camr that provides 3d printer files to print some parts like a special little plastic holder that helps you center the wheel / attach some metal weights like they do with cars. I also installed a removable light to be more visible. I ride mainly on bike paths in the city. This scooter is not for heavy folks. 85kg max.

Couple of tips for Mantis riders. If you are looking to make you scooter water tight don’t use glue and paint. Clear silicone is perfect or even clear rubber glue. I felt like when the Matis was being developed it was also being developed with the Skywalker series. I think that's why I went with the Skywalker 10S and not the base Mantis. I'm glad I did as the Mantis was okay, nothing terrible but nothing great. Skywalker the same but at least I'm not having to drop an extra $600 for something that feels kind of cheap. But soon enough I will have the Wolf Warrior which will be a huge game-changer but I will still forever cherish my days with the Skywalker.

I'm considering it for my full-time transportation, but there's a few others I'm thinking about as well, like the Turbowheel Lightning, Zero 9 or 10. It's kind of hard to decide just looking at videos and stats. I've never ridden a high end electric scooter. Would you consider letting me test it out?
Yes, there is a setting P8 where you adjust the top speed. It’s a percentage, out of the box in Australia mine was set at 27%. Ive since increased it to 50%. After more practise and when I have full set of protective gear then I will consider 100%. At 45 mph you really need to be wearing motorbike gear.
Me personally I would contact the company you bought it from send them an email to the sales and state the fact you've foundfor a silly amount cheaper but you won't tell anyone if they give it you for that price otherwise you are sending it back

I am learning the hard way that NOTHING is under warranty. I have had my Kaabo scooter for 3 months, and so far; 1/ The front whole arm had to be replaced because the stem was faulty, I had to pay £160 and not under warranty. 2/ I am constantly finding screws falling out 3/ My front brake caliper has fallen off with the screw holes holding it on having no thread and being completely smooth. Got scooter on finance and now I wish I never bought this cheap built product by Kaabo and if you read up the build quality is a common issue. I recommend everyone to avoid, as no matter how it goes wrong you are never covered by warranty.

Using this scooter for short commutes is the way to go, as it makes it really fun. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxvyNuxpWiHTNypxG6nyqyf7ywc7Q16PDM Both the levels of speed it allows you to use are very fun, though 20mph can get pretty scary on bad roads. It makes a cool electric sound as it is accelerating. The battery life is also pretty impressive, as I can go anywhere around me within a ~10 mile radius and back home with a full charge. I expected the tires to feel somewhat like a toy, but it is legit, and has pretty good grip on surfaces. Braking on this scooter is also really fun, since you can even do a little drifting if you break hard. The wheels on the scooter are definitely very high quality, as they are wide and well sized. The entire scooter is pretty high quality too. I have fallen on it a couple times because I was being a little reckless, and the scooter still works perfectly fine, with some minor scratches on the sides. I found the brake lights to be very cool as well, since they flash when you brake.

@@A1Bokeh fortunately i sent it back, i would recommend staying away till someone like RK9 have LONG time ownership reviews and see how they deal with faults, Im actually shocked how many other brands with similar frame structures and i feel this scooter industry is going to take a big market hit, im going to stay on bikes since thats mostly my backround on 2 wheels ! Hope this helps you guide your purchase on one !
@@codezalo5773 dang. What kinda bike you riding?
@@A1Bokeh used to be on Fixed gear freestyle but just have a standard mountain bike, hopefully i can get a chance to get my hands on a Surron X and that will hopefully be fun e-transport content

Important update about my Mantis here: th-cam.com/video/V0VTrHV3HT0/w-d-xo.html
i thought the mantis had the minimotors display, or is it only the pro version that has it?
Yes only pro
Brakes on the base is not the best. I mean its either that or i should slow down to avoid accidents.
Nice video, I live in Utah as well and have had my eye on the Mantis for about a year now.
What did you end up buying?
rip
43 mph sounds downright scary lmao
Do you have to go into the menu and set the speed
Yes, there is a setting P8 where you adjust the top speed. It’s a percentage, out of the box in Australia mine was set at 27%. Ive since increased it to 50%. After more practise and when I have full set of protective gear then I will consider 100%. At 45 mph you really need to be wearing motorbike gear.
What scooter should I buy - if I want a Mantis But without all the cons? 😅
I think u should buy the yume d5
I have it and it’s really good
Me personally I would contact the company you bought it from send them an email to the sales and state the fact you've foundfor a silly amount cheaper but you won't tell anyone if they give it you for that price otherwise you are sending it back
I want this but in italy it's illegal 😢
Not even legal to ride in a park ?
This would be fun to ride through a warehouse
Love my zero 10x, made Bob Jones my b**** lol. let me know next time your in slo, we should race my 10x vs your mantis, could be good content!
Sounds good!
In Australia there are 4 models, single motor Base, then Dual, Elite then Pro. I have the Elite, cost $2700 Aus, Pro is $3300.
What scooter do you suggest getting next bro ??? I’ve got the mantis lite but after this video ... I don’t wanna drop 1600 on a mantis if you think there is anything better In My price range please holla back👍
Whats your price range?
1200 to 1400
@@Nealeffort you could probably hold off a bit and buy the Zero 10x ($1600) with a coupon code making it alil cheaper.

Varla scooters are the best for its money with NO problems at all like this one has and for the same amount of money Varla is way better choice
Is this chinese made ?
They are all
Anyone ever order from okidas?
Nice review but I think the Apollo pro is the best in the 1800 to 2000 price range. Either way most of these are almost the same. Wish they were priced like in China.
Not bad.
Speed reading too fast, change the diameter of the wheel to 9" in PO setting, then compare to GPS.
I am learning the hard way that NOTHING is under warranty. I have had my Kaabo scooter for 3 months, and so far;
1/ The front whole arm had to be replaced because the stem was faulty, I had to pay £160 and not under warranty.
2/ I am constantly finding screws falling out
3/ My front brake caliper has fallen off with the screw holes holding it on having no thread and being completely smooth.
Got scooter on finance and now I wish I never bought this cheap built product by Kaabo and if you read up the build quality is a common issue. I recommend everyone to avoid, as no matter how it goes wrong you are never covered by warranty.
Use threadlock
65 lbs is a deal breaker for carrying up two flights of stairs
Hi I received my mantis lite about a week ago and I've got to say anyone in the UK looking for one please consider theescooterco they even have ex display models with no miles for £749
Buying one from China is roughly 45% cheaper than buying from a UK dealer. If you can't afford to wait then I understand, but I'd rather buy a Mantis X 18ah for £960 than pay £1800 with the scooter co
Hi, I'm reaching out to as many people as i can.
I have a mantis 10 DUO 18.2AH 60V scooter SN KBTL121120082331.
I'm trying to find a wiring diagram for these two black ESC's (controller boxes) but no one can help me so far.
Is there anyone here that could maybe supply me with a photo of how the connects are all set up? or a diagram or anything. I have tried the manufacturers and many stores.
No one can help me so far.. Please if anyone has the model with the two black controllers can you please please help me with a photo or anything :( I beg you.

18 mph £35 eBay
For 16 id rather buy a beater 🤣

Kugoo G Booster is much better .
phantom might be better than this.
The hole scooter was made in china all of them are. Then we buy them for big money. And your scooter looks like a teck life or zero scooter.as I said all from china.
It Doesn't. Have a smart Motor
? Dafuq is a "Smart motor"???
I've had 3 and returned all of them. Mantis pro 10 dual are a peice of shit
They sell you a scooter & when it doesn't work, they will not refund your money, they will not give you another unit, they will barely even talk to you. NEVER buy any Kaabo products, there is ZERO support. It's like playing Russian roulette with your hard earned money. Terrible company with THE WORST customer service possible!

Still prefer Ninebot Max

Great review 💥
