    This is going to help me a lot I will be sharing this video. I just got my boot on last week. I had 3 fractures and a dislocated ankle. The doctor had to do surgery and put screws in my ankle. I will be doing this until I go back to my 4-week ankle checkup to get started with Therapy.

    I have a trimalleolar ankle fracture and am on day 4 of a walking boot. The videos are great as I was not given information by my surgeon on any of this.

      Unfortunately surgeons aren’t trained in rehab management after surgery. They’ll dictate weight bearing status and when the boot comes off. Most leave the exercise to physical therapists/physios.

    Thank you! I’m just a few days into week 2 and this is exactly what I needed to see! I just don’t know what range of motion is allowed.

      Have you been in normal cast before the boot? Or was boot cast the first brace you got?

    Thank you for the expertise. Had an ankle sprain, how many reps and sets should I do?

    Can I use this Excercies for ATFL recovery?

    • @sportrehabguide
      @sportrehabguide  ปีที่แล้ว

      They can be routinely used for ankle sprains

    Is it normal that with the first exercise I can’t bring my foot down like it was shown? I have very little mobility and it’s mostly in bringing my foot up (sorry I don’t know how to describe it better).
    I’m 3 weeks after a fracture.
    Is it normal that the range of motion would be very small at that stage?

    • @sportrehabguide
      @sportrehabguide  ปีที่แล้ว

      Range of motion and stiffness is common a number weeks after routine ankle fractures. Always best to get it checked out if any concerns.

      @@sportrehabguide thank you for the reply :) I was at the doctors office yesterday and he recommended doing same exercise you have shown in the video (first one), so I will be trying it slowly- hopefully fuller range of motion will be back soon!
      Your videos are very helpful :) Especially that they’re titled by number of weeks from fracture. Thank you!
      Have a great day/night 🌟

      @@sportrehabguide is it still normal after 11 weeks post op bimalleolar (plate on top of fib notch and pin& wire inner side of tibia tip). Only allowed passive pull n stretch and pump like the 1. One here. Not allowed to do soleus gastroc stretch, inversion& eversion, but allowed %100 weight, how will I increase the dorsiflexion in this case?

      Always best to contact your consultant on when those precautions can be lifted.

    Thankyou, is anterior pain normal? That hurts more than the ankle fracture itself, it's been 4 weeks...

    • @sportrehabguide
      @sportrehabguide  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lots of reasons why it can be normal and other reasons why it could be a secondary injury to the fracture. Everyone is going to be different, always best to get it checked out/assessed when catching up with surgeon/physio etc
