Fantastic video. I'm a former personal fitness trainer, and have 1 band left that I can use. I also know the different feel between good & bad pain, so all I need is to get over the mental "pain panic".

I am in Indonesia and having a very slow and painful post-surgical recovery to fibular and Tibia plates and pins (11) installed after a road accident. All is complicated by a history of around 20 past surgeries related to fractures and childhood surgical treatment (as they did in the day) of severe bi-lateral feet, Despite a past history of bi-lateral Achille's Tendon extension surgery, have around only 10-15% dorsal flexion. Despite this medical history, enjoyed good walking mobility. Now focusing on recovery, have found your videos excellent and full of ideas. Keep up the very excellent work. Ever consider Zoom consultations?

Thank you. I wish I found this 2 months ago. I slipped on a small piece of a branch under some leaves whilst running. It caused me to have a stress fracture to my ankle and severe deep tissue damage. I am walking with a medical boot on for the 2 and a bit weeks. I still have heel and pain, but it isn't as bad as it was. I couldn't walk on it for 6 weeks. I found another one of your videos. I will try this one first.

@@namamamareally411 Thank you for the kind words. My ankle is doing good. I still have aching and pain in from time to time. Though I was warned it could take a year or possibly longer for the ankle pain to disappear. It usually only aches at night. I am able to walk and run again without much fuss. It hurts at night sometimes despite what I've done during the day. I am grateful that I am able to move and run.

Ahhh Thank you and your Welcome.. Happy to hear your back to running again.. That’s very encouraging to know.. I am not allowed to walk on it yet like you for 6 or more weeks… Still in a lot of pain and I find the boot cast a bit too heavy to start doing exercises.. Will definitely try these exercises when I can… Thank you again.. All the Best and stay safe xxx

@@namamamareally411Oh no! I am sorry this happened. I hope you recover well and quickly.
I found that using the walking boot and crutches didn't happen until week 8. It was painful, but I could put my foot down for the first time for a couple of seconds before I had to lift it back up. I lost over half the calf muscle on my injured side. However, walking with the boot and crutches recovered most of my calf muscle in 2 weeks. They are the same size now. In November, it will be 1 year. I didn't start running until 4 months post injury. It was sporadic and I had to take lots of recovery days. I am back to running everyday I am well.
      Take care.

@@ivylovesrunning Oh wow 😮 You’re back to running every day Awesome… Happy you’re doing well now.. So you had the boot from week eight… I feel that they probably gave me the boot quite early after two weeks as I can’t walk on it at all and too much pain.. I also noticed that my calf muscle on injured leg has reduced…which makes the boot extra heavy lol ☹️Also I can not get on yet with the crutches.. just using a wheelchair at moment, maybe like you say week eight may be better for me to try and start walking on it.. Glad to hear your leg is back to normal as it does make you worry wether it will go back to the same shape.. So happy I could chat with you and hear your recovery story.. You Give me a lot of inspiration to be a bit more patient.. Thank you so much.. I really appreciate it.. Take care xxx 😘

How timely this video is.... 2 to 3 weeks ago while working part time for the US Census, I had gone up steps the last of which was 18" high or so, with my bad knees I barely got up. No one answered the door, and I turned to go down. No guard rail so no way to keep my balance. After 5 minutes of trying to figure out a way to get down, even unable to find anything to balance on so I could get on my bad knees, I noticed the ground at the side while lower than the step, was much higher than the lowest step, about 2-3 feet.... and it was mossy so much softer than concrete. So I jumped down. Labor day morning, I took my dogs to the park, it was about to rain so we did not go to the small dog park, but started walking around the grass of the parking lot near the lake shore. All the sudden, my foot arch collapsed, pain if any weight went onto the front 2/3rds of my foot. I waited for my dogs to poo, cleaned it up, painfully walked back to truck, went home. A few hours later to the ER, where they said I sprained my foot. My foot doctor the next day took more Xrays, and told me that since I have type 2 diabetes and am heavy (320 lbs), he was worried that my foot bones almost broke, but my arch collapsing prevented it. At least 3 weeks in the foot cast boot, off my feet as much as possible. So much fun trying to get up a 6" step into the house with left foot bad and right knee still weak from meniscus surgery last year, even with crutches, but I have to do it 3-4 times a day for my poor dogs.... they so miss the park.

I want to jump straight to weight bearing but think it's smart to invest in at least a week of no weight bearing exercises first and see how my 40 yr old body responds. Those pain indicators don't work as immediately as they did in my twenties. I'm curious why that is?

How’s your ankle hun? I broke mine in October and still haven’t started weight bearing yet

    • @elberbelbers

@@julianachairez1267 It turns out it was a distal tibial avulsion but I did a month and a half of PT and had to get a steroid shot after a month. I’m still having a little pain but I’m not wearing a boot and not taking PT right now. I’m
just real careful where I step on uneven ground. Hopefully, time will heal more.

I have a question, my foot cant bear weight and I cant turn it clockwise and counterclockwise meaning I cant move it but even though I don't move it, it still hurts.

I have broken Talus. I wanna get my calves back to normal before i remove cast. I wanna be readier to walk than let it atrophy. Can i
