I wish I had seen this 6 years ago, no-one was talking about sarcopenia then, and I have watched my muscle mass go down and down. I am now 81. I’m not sure I have the strength of will and motivation to get exercising now, but your videos will help! I’ve taken screenshots of your very helpful notes, so I am going to try!

Once you start, it gets easier the more you do them. I’m almost 70 and trying these along with all my others for bones, TKR exercises as I’m 5 months in and doing really well apart from not being able to bend the knee backwards very far, so those are really hard for me ATM.

This is so timely. Yesterday the doctor giving my 85-year-old mother her wellness check was concerned about her muscle loss and recommended she try some strength-building exercises. I said "I know where to find some". Sure enough, checked this channel this morning and here was exactly the video we need. Thanks, Will!

I've never in my life been able to do a push-up, not even when I was young and an active rock-climber! But now, at 71, I have been able to get to doing push-ups against the kitchen bench. That works for me, since the kitchen bench has a smooth curved edge which is comfortable to hold, it is available on the spot, and it requires some core activation as well as the glutes and arms.
Little by little, I can feel that I am getting stronger from doing all these exercises (and some of the other ones). Thank you for making it easy!

Something I still remember from a few years ago: a coworker's father died and I went to his mother's home to pay my condolences to the family. They are a very tall family, not just the guy Iwork with, in the 1.80 - 2.00+ range. The 80-something woman who had just lost her husband was sitting on the floor talking with comforters and her granddaughter came in asked something. The woman - in her 80s and about 1.8m tall - said she would get it and, like a 16 year old gymnast, popped up so quickly, effortlessly and gracefully from the floor I was taken aback. It was truly inspirational and jaw-dropping.
    Edited to fix autocorrect incorrections.

It's Jan 21, '25 -- I'm 72 (ouch) and I just now tried one set (20 reps) then I bent over to see if I could touch my toes without stiffness / pain. I would say 80% of the pain was alleviated and, yes, I could touch my toes without much effort.
BOTTOM LINE: I am super-impressed with this exercise--I will continue to do them throughout the day.

I'm '72, and a runner for ~3 decades. In 12/ 24, I went from 4x / week @ 3+ hrs walk/jog routine to difficulty walking for more than 30 minutes without being totally "gassed." Never found a cause, but am working my way "back" following 6 months off & significant loss of strength. Am now much more focused on regaining strength as I rebuild my aerobic fitness. Thank You for your Great recommendations! ... and Im encouraging Friends to subscribe and join in! Thanks Again! -Jim

This is fantastic info for my calves. So thanks for another great video! Just a note of caution: Wearing socks to do the heel lifts on a slick plastic surface is a potential slipping hazard for us seniors. Even those of us with normal balance and foot muscle control. Perhaps selecting a footstool with an anti-skid surface would be a better choice.

I am a 67 woman; I started the carnivore diet about 3 weeks ago for more protein. I feel good but would love to build muscles back in my arms. I use a thigh toner sometimes. In my 50s i could do 100 x 3 (300) of those per day. I find it hard to do 100 these days but will persevere. Thank you for this video from a new subscriber. 😊

In my late 60s I was shocked that I couldn't get up and down on the floor. I have a deteriorating hip and hadn't realized how weak I'd become avoiding any use of it. Your videos, your book, and your newsletter kept me from giving up through the slow and uncomfortable progress I need. You are an excellent coach and motivator Will Harlow. I'm putting in the effort, forgiving my body not responding as it did 25 years ago, and making new progress in strength, balance, flexibility, and I'm sure a slowdown and reversal of sarcopenia. Keep telling us we can do it, at a new pace, but still much more mobile.

Thanks Will. I always love your muscle building videos. Wondering if this is too out there, but could you film yourself in the gym whilst using the gym equipment? Your muscle building routine is going so well for me and my husband.

Thank you so much. I’m over 60 and have for 4 months been going to the gym, I’ve already lost weight and started to put muscle back on …. To say I was a walking wreck is an understatement. Your 3 exercises are a very good addition to the days I can’t get to the gym ! I can’t do a press up yet but I’m in no doubt I’ll have cracked it within a month 😊

These exercises will be very helpful. I have drop foot on right leg due to hip surgery two years ago, and have been discouraged and let myself vegetated. I'm 72. My shoulders have very little strength and painful. But what you have shown lines up with what doctors and physical therapists have been telling me. I just must do it if going to get better. Thank you and may God bless you.

I think making and selling follow along instructional videos would be way more helpful than reading a book. I love books on many subjects, but when it comes to exercising, I like to watch a video and follow along.

Dear Will, I started looking at your videos during our stay in Germany in May June July. Bought your 2023 book , did not get around to collect the video present. Now back in South Africa, trying to find a way to purhase your new book. Also do not have access to a laptop yet. Would also like to get the Fri videos. My problems: osteoporosis, peripheral neuropathy,80 years old. Combining many of your exercises with what I have learnt from pilates. Very helpful. Would not like to loose contact. Thank you for a wonderful way of getting your mesage across to us over 50's❤

Thank you so much Will, you are a gem to give us this information. I have a damaged right hand so can’t even do wall pushups, so I am going to do swimming breast stroke for 20 minutes three times a week. But definitely doing the other 2 exercises. It is surprising how much strength I find I lose after an accident or illness requiring a few days of rest. So important to keep strength up.

Hi there - I'm sorry to hear about your hand injury, but great to hear you've found an alternate form of exercise which proves beneficial and I'm pleased you'll be able to put the other 2 exercises to good use. And absolutely, it's so important to protect our strength!

60 years old 25 pounds gained. Losing weight really shows the muscle loss. Thank you for these simple exercises. I can even notice balance loss. I will do these at least 3x a week.
I also purchased a rebounder. Good or a waste of money? If good, can you do an episode on them? Appreciate your help.
