I'm 64, and just wanted to share that 6 months ago I came across your videos and stated doing the exercises. At that point in time, I was having to roll over onto my hands and knees to get up off the floor. I just noticed yesterday that after I had to lay down and pull something out from underneath the couch, I just stood up only using one hand with no strain and no pause. That is a dramatic difference!
I've had MS since I was about 17 and after a horrid relapse at 29 I'm trying to strengthen myself up again - these exercises are wonderful, I know they're not aimed at disabled people but it's helping me gain my life back, thank you! 🥰
I'm sorry to hear about your relapse, it sounds like you're doing a great thing by taking the time to strengthen yourself up again - I'm glad my work can be of help to people of all ages and capabilities - thank you for sharing your experience!
I will be 74 in March, can't believe I just said that out loud.😂 Over 18 mos. ago I was involvedin a car accident, I had 2nd & 3rd degree chemical burns on both legs below the knees. I have fallen 27 times & most always needed 911 to get me up. I just started walking last Spring after completing physical therapy. I am still falling not nearly like before & my Dr is sending me back to PT. In the meantime I looked on TH-cam & found you. Your excercises are very easy to understand & pretty much like having my own PT. Thank you for sharing all of your knowlege w/ us. I want to congratulate you for providing such an important public service. Keep them coming !!
I'm so sorry to hear about your car accident, that must've been a very difficult time for you. I'm glad you have been able to find value in my work - it's great that I am able to reach so many new people through TH-cam!
This is super. I’ve been struggling with falling for about four years after a health incident, and this is the most direct and well-explained video on how to avoid them. I thought that this was related to mostly to my brain, but I see now that strength plays a huge part. These are easy exercises and he’s very motivating.
Because of my spinal stenosis I’m very careful to follow trainers on TH-cam. The information that you give out always is well thought out and my Doctor always agrees with your information and techniques
That's great to hear - thank you for always checking with your doctor too, it is very important that advice is tailored to your individual circumstances!
These exercises are the same ones that my physical therapist is having me do! Thank you for taking the time to show us how to do each one slowly... very helpful! 😊 I recently started blacking out (don't know why yet) and have just been discharged from an intensive rehab center.
LOL Perfectly me: “make sure you take the band off before walking again.” I love your videos. They are so very helpful AND they work! I broke both of my knee caps 2 years ago and these particular exercises I already do. Recommend that everyone do these. They helped me greatly during recovery and still do.
I'm sorry to hear about your injury, that must've been very painful. Keep up the great work with the exercises you are doing and I wish you all the best!
You are a godsend , I have hardware in my ankle and shin and arthritis in ankle. The exercises are some what the same when I go to therapy but yours are a bit better
Thank you so much for this video. I fell today because I caught my toe while walking. I knew one of your videos would be just what I needed. I'm looking forward to getting your new book.
I follow you and also bought your book. Both watching your videos and your book are making a marvelous difference in my sciatica pain. Thank you so much!
Thank you for this great find. I am 69 and have fallen over a few times, as my ankles give way. I have been doing ankle strength stuff, but your exercises are great, as they incorporate whole body weight. I trip up too, so will definitely be doing the last one in earnest, particularly.
Thank you Will (leg strenght will set you free) keep in mind wrists also. I'd washed my hands but not dried then going down stairs my hands slipped onto kinda falling onto backdoor's handle whereas I saw how slippy they were, it all may have ended more badly, wrist strenght is important!
THANK YOU! I have been doing Tib Raises consistently for some time now and have been looking for a way to make the exercise a bit more challenging-- Now I've got it!!
Amazing video and I definitely subscribed! As a personal trainer and someone over 50 I appreciate this video, great information and presentation. Thanks so much!
I am trying desperately to find information on rebuilding/repairing and preserving discs and cartilage. With 2 herniated discs and a recently torn minuscus as well as older knee injuries I want to give my poor skeleton the best chance. For other health reasons I have needed to change to a vegan diet, so bond broth etc are no longer an option for me. I am just so tired of pain and unstable joints. I'm 55 but some days I feel 95. Surely there's something I can do? I've been trying some of these exercises and the info on using a walking aid. Most helpful. That's why I hope that here I can find help to have a more functional life.
Thankyou I will try these. I have fallen 5 times and broke 5 bones. I have a lot of trouble walking. Do you have any strength training exercises for arms? I broke my humerus bone in one arm 3 years ago and still have pain. I had an injury in the other arm about 5 months later. I llost so much muscle mass in both arms due to not being able to use them or lift anything for 2 years. Thankyou
I'm sorry to hear about your injuries, they must have been very painful - I have the following videos on upper body strength which may be of help! th-cam.com/video/8GFeRXYdKxc/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/LXQK6luMPBk/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/RsA9_APC7Ns/w-d-xo.html

Thank you for these great exercises. Do you have a series of videos that I could purchase? I am working with a biokineticist and your exercises support all that I am doing with her. I have fallen more often than I care to remember.
What exercises would you recommend for healing broken humorous bone? I'm 3 weeks out from surgery to repair it; broken in 3 places. Repaired with 1 plate and 13 screws. I'm trying to get an appointment with my surgeon but it's a game of telephone tag.
Thank you once again for these very useful videos. I have noticed that you use different coloured bands for your exercises. Could you tell us why this is?
I have different colour bands that offer different levels of resistance - it's important to find the level of resistance that works for your when working with exercise bands to get the best results
Found this just hours after falling face first on my driveway (very acrobatically 😉🤷♀️) resulting in only a sprained wrist because of having been working on just these exercises.
I have arthritis in my right knee and need a knee placement. In my experience, yes, you can. But only do as many reps as you can that wont cause you pain. You have an ortho? Please discuss with them. I’m not a dr, I only play one on tv 😂. Seriously tho, speak with your dr as they know your history, etc. If suggested, a cortisone shot can help you get moving. I worked on these kind of exercises with PT and now with my personal trainer. Today, I did a full squat. I haven’t been able to squat in over 10 years. I can walk up and down stairs alternating feet, and use the handrail for guidance. I can get off the floor, up to one knee and push to standing position just lightly using a chair for balance. All of this gained since April 2023. And I’m 50 yo for context. I was using a walker in my home, a cane whenever I went out, even purchased a motorized wheelchair bc I couldn’t walk. I barely walked more than 300 steps in a day. Now I’m averaging over 5k. I wish you luck!!
I am over fifty and at one time a national caliber wrestler buy honestly walking with ski poles is better than a stick especially if you are in icy conditions who cares what people think
I’m 74. I ride a bike 9000 miles a year of 25 mph. I climbed 500,000 feet I hike 2 to 3 miles per day with my dog I row on a concept two rower for half an hour to 45 minutes every day, I think that your ideas are good but I just don’t think you’re giving people enough exercise to make a difference. Everything else is fine but I think your remedies are too minor not everyone can be me but two minor to do any good I’m not a specialist like you are, but I am a wilderness, paramedic and a psychologist and I have a lot of experience with how people need to be strong. I just don’t think you’re giving people enough work.

Too good
Can my mom do that with severe osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis?
Found this just hours after falling face first on my driveway (very acrobatically 😉🤷♀️) resulting in only a sprained wrist because of having been working on just these exercises.

I have arthritis in my right knee and need a knee placement. In my experience, yes, you can. But only do as many reps as you can that wont cause you pain. You have an ortho? Please discuss with them. I needed these I have tight ankles and tight back. I do about 30000 steps daily, but end up with backache
I hope they can be of help - it's great you're so active, but definitely important to take care of your body to support all that movement
