I heard adding arabic countries, usa and china helps you load off expensive players
I got an offer from qatari league for my gk without having qatar loaded, is that not common?
@@symptomofsouls Firstly, even if you dont include leagues they still do exist and will occasionally make moves. Secondly, offload as in you offer players out, not they submit an offer to buy your players.
From the US and about 15 years ago wised up to how great football is. Playing FM for the first time since v14, retired and actually have time to play ;) Was struggling with how to setup my save for lower league England and my Dag & Red game. Your video was massively helpful in what leagues to load, players to include from non-loaded leagues, and my manager skill set. With FM there are loads of opinions on how to do things and that's to be expected. At least with your guidelines I am confident I will be starting from a good place. Thank you very much.
I always load almost every top division in Europe and South America even though I play on a laptop, my laptop should struggle as much as I do playing the game
Great video - can definitely see it being helpful for those jumping into FM for the first time with gamepass.
Personally, I do not prefer to forceload players but add more leagues. After some time, you can deselect leagues again in case your save game slows down too much. But hey, that’s just me (feeding the algorithm ;) )
Only thing you forgot is that you can add playable leagues to view only and you can change it if you want play in that league in future.
My computer is slow, but on my new save today, I've loaded every European and Oceanian player database. I've made Singapore playable because I want to start as late as possible (June 30, 2022). The only disadvantage: As I'm also NZ's manager, the World Cup qualification is left to chance.

New to the game and starting with international management. In that case, I can keep my league loading to a minimum and use the player load options to make sure I can find all the guys eligible to represent my country - am I understanding that right?

I want to start in English lower league, but my pc is slow and I still want to scout the best Young players. What should I select in the database?
But how do you Simulate? The normal Way or a simulation like in Fifa with a calendar?
Can you add a vid about changing the league's during a save? As you move up the rungs, what is the best way to manage the detail so it is appropriate.
I would recommend against changing leagues during a save as it can cause histories to bug out and adding leagues will cause players to generate with incomplete career stats
Usually, I count the transfers between my country and other ones. If a lot of transfers happen between my country and a nonloaded one, im probably gonna load it. If a loaded league has barely any transfers and is useless, im gonna deload it. It messes up your history but its useful otherwise.
Is there a way to set the U23 and U18 teams to play the same formation as the 1st team apart from hiring managers who play the same formation ?

Is it possible to start a game but not have all the transfers for the 1st window completed? Its annoying that so many youth players are already on season long loans and players signed in january are already at the club at the start of preseason

What about if your doing a prem save and you want to to be able to get wonderkids in brazil, etc. My newcastle save has loads of leagues loading and is now so slow taking about 10 mins between each continue sometimes. I have a brand new high speed laptop and its still only like half a star speed!!!

What would you suggest would be the lowest star rating for the estimated game speed so that the game runs smoothly.
The stars aren’t particularly accurate and it depends on how slow you’re willing to put up with but for me I wouldn’t go below 2.5 stars. A save game will only progress slower as you go into the future
Jack - What’s your opinion on making leagues viewable only?
Find it kinda pointless to be honest, I'm sure there's usercases for it as it makes those leagues sim matches in more detail and have league tables that are fleshed out but I don't ever really use it.
What about league loading for journeyman saves?
It would depend entirely on where you intend to manage
What's with the "load but don't allow managing" option? Is it still there? Does that fully simulate the leagues with slightly less load because you're not going to take them over? Might as well ask and feed the comment algorithm with a real question!

View only means the game sims the fixtures in the background with more detail rather than with the fast processing match engine

I must say, I completely disagree with your setup for loading leagues, I would have much more leagues loaded. This does not provide for a very realistic long-term save game. I would load the majority of nations top divisions as playable to ensure realism of continental competitions, as well as better newgen generation. Your setup is much more tailored to those with poor processing power, or who simply want ultra-quick processing.
Realism of continental competitions can be maintained through loading players at top division clubs in the custom database settings option for the continent you're in. Doing this also has the same effect on newgen generation as loading the leagues themselves.
No, if you don't nations clubs from those nations will not remain competitive long-term, even if you load the players. I have tested this a lot. A major reason is their transfer activity is very reduced, so their squad building is compromised. Also, if you don't load the leagues, there will be minimal variation in teams who are successful in those leagues (i.e. the same teams winning it every year). This lack of variation will lead to the same teams qualifying for continental competitions every year from those nations, which in turn leads to a less interesting and less realistic continental competitions.

@@luqmanbaihaqi3102 In terms of playable leagues, I load every nation's top division except for the really unimportant nations like the small Asian ones (eg Hong Kong). The only exception is the nation I am managing in I load all leagues, and for the big 5 nations I also load the second division. Any other leagues I will have as view only (including the lower divisions of the nations I have loaded). This will be quite a slow setup. A good way to speed it up is the sacrifice the leagues from other continents, and maybe only load Argentina and Brazil as non-European leagues. If you want to speed it up from there, all you can do is progressively cut out the weak European leagues until you feel a league is too significant to remove. Note that any league you remove you can still set to view only. If you are managing outside Europe then I would recommend loading every league in that continent, including lower divisions because there just aren't that many leagues in that continent. The overall point to drive home is this: When it comes to long term competitive balance, top divisions are all that matters. Lower divisions are useless, so don't load them except for maybe the top 5 nations and the nation you are in

Top 5 + large custom database with current internationals + top division players from: Brazil, Argentina, Portugal and Holland.
