    You’re now ready to be handed the central result of our training testing. This whole series will help you take training in Football Manager from an afterthought to a huge advantage, but without this one video that would be impossible. We tinkered and tweaked our way to the ideal way to win matches, develop your team, and keep everyone healthy while training in FM.
    I promise your young wonderkids and old injury-prone captains will be equally safe and taken care of in this training regime. Be sure to tailor it to your team's needs on FM too, that’s why I explain how you could change it but because you will likely need to. I want everyone to feel comfortable tweaking it, it gives you the ability to make it perfect for you and your save. I’m so freaking excited we finally did this.
    Much Love,
    FM Senpai

    One thing you haven't said, which one of the game testers told me in his live stream: if you have mentor groups set up, and you have a model pro or model citizen in your squad, you can put in 18-20 year Olds in a group with that player, and using team bonding and community outreach every week you increase the chances that those young players will also develop the model pro/model citizen personality

      If they can play in your squad that is great, if not and you are playing them in u23 games, Zealand covered that in another video where it is a detriment to their development to bring them up with your squad for mentoring like that because they miss a lot of training days - both the squad game days and travel and the U23 game days and travel etc.

    really glad you're drilling into this stuff, it's something a ton of people overlook and it can make a real difference (because the preset schedules are just not good). one huge tip: there's a setting in the staff responsibilties to notify you fortnightly about the next two week's schedules, and to review the schedule if there's a fixture rearrangement. these inbox items are SUPER useful because any fixture rearrangement, even if it's just moved for television, can completely wreck that week's training structure

    Didn’t mention in the video but you should know: In the ‘rest’ tab you can set the farthest left heart to ‘no pitch or gym work’ and the next heart to ‘half intensity’ if your team is more injury prone or your preseason is shorter.
    I know it looks freaky with no rest, it freaked me out too, your team will stay fit because the intensity is optimized. It comes back with less injuries than the training your assistant manager recommends.

      @@manyhamy6330 Personally, I find the 'match intesnsity to physio recommendation' a bit of a pain to be honest, as once they've changed it, it won't then revert to automatic when they have no recommendation, meaning you have to go in and change it yourself every few days. It would be great if you could delegate training intensity to your Head Physio so that if he has a *specific* recommendation then he'll apply that, otherwise it'll use the automatic settings you've chosen.

    At the beginning of the season (save) I always create 10 scenarios (4 schedules for pre-season preparation with decreasing intensity, 2 - for weeks with one match (Saturday / Sunday), 2 for matches with two matches per week, usually always one more defensively based and one more offensive, then I will create training sessions for the international break, where I give the players a few days off and then a week full of training in greater intensity + training that I do not use during the year such as goalkeepers or penalties.

    Under one of your improving youngsters videos I've once responded with my training schedule. I'm glad to see that part of that philosophy is part of your 'perfect' training schedule in that you also start of with a big training day right after the match. I like mine better though. The problem with your schedule, in my eyes, is that you use too much general training. I wouldn't want my strikers to learn how to mark, which they do have to do with the general defending training and with outfield etc. I do, however, want my defenders learn how to pass and maybe finish for corners. That's why I only use 'attacking' as a general training. I much prefer to do defensive training sessions where my attackers don't have to learn defensive attributes but can still get their 20% on attacking skills. Another point you could probably improve is where you've put in 'game preview'. I like 'match tactics' better, as this boosts skills too and not just prepares a match.
    My FM21 training schedule was this for a Saturday match:
    Monday: Physical, def. shadow play, Tactical (or Set piece)
    Tuesday: One-on-ones, Attacking, Chance creation
    Wednesday: Transition-press, Team bonding, defending engaged
    Thursday: Goalkeeping, chance conversion, ground defence
    Friday: Def. shape, Att. movement, match tactics
    Saturday: match
    Sunday: recovery, match tactics (or game review) and rest / Tactical
    Because players that aren't completely fit don't work at the highest intensity, this doesn't create many injuries, while it does help youngsters develop that are with the 1st team. For them I like the physical training. The Tactical on Monday and Sunday can be mixed up to do other things too. I just like the Tactical to help my defenders grow their mental stats, but set piece can be great too

  • @sld1776
    @sld1776 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ground Defense, Aerial Defense, Chance Creation, and Chance conversion work on individual roles. You do something like 1. Chance Creation, 2. Ground Defense, 3. General--Goalkeeper, and you have a whole day working on individual roles. You can also do 1. Match Practice, 2. Recovery, 3. ?, you have another day dedicated to individual roles.

    I try to keep it simple and it works all the time since fm18, preseason full of fitness and tactical general training, overall and outfield is a must everyday in turns, and during the season a more balanced approach with overall outfield everyday plus general training plus specific training. Depending on the team I face and its weaknesses I focus a couple of sessions on corners or fks or gk training, but I always use match tactics and match preview prior to a match, plus a match prep session if I have 3 slots. After match, recovery bonding and community outreach. This works every f time, after a couple of months all players have 6,80 training rating minimum, their stats are flying and I am happy, bc I don't care and they don't care about double intensity sessions (plus some new trait or extra focus for them workaholics) :)

But if you can get rid of some deadwood like Pack, Vaulks and one or two others you can easily mount a promotion challenge if you can get your loans right. I usually send Ikpeazu and Doughty back. Usually try to get in another Centre Mid and Attacker (Gelhardt of leeds is usually willing to come on loan)

    hi zealand, this scheduele makes a lot of sense for a "one fit all"; effective, general, everyone improvess, not to heavy, if i had to change anything would be adding match practice session, is the single best session for developing the roles you chose for your players, and the automatic intensity is way to heavy for a team who plays 50 matches a year, i use double intense when full condition, then normal, then half intensity twice, and no training at all for the lowest condition, this keeps injuries far away and the players develop well.

    Thanks for this! One question I have, is regarding the "match boosts" in the schedules. These have an effect that last for 7 days, so I've been trying to schedule them all one at a time on the 5 least played match days. So in your schedule the 5 you have are Teamwork, Set Pieces, Att Movement, Def Shape, and Team Bonding. I normally schedule those as one session each on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday on both my one match and two match schedule so that they are always renewing the boost on the same day every week as the old boost falls off. But you get them all in at the end of the week on a one match week. Does making the beginning of the week more strenuous and moving those back to just before the match really make the schedules more effective?

    My only problem is that on the 2nd day after a match, some players are still too tired to do any physical training, which is why I generally only do physical training on weeks where I only have 1 match on the 3rd day after a match. It can be altered and you can force players to participate, but that generally leads to injuries.
    In my experience, you do not get fitness issues if you have a light training schedule in the last 2 days before a match which means you can put a bit more intensity in the days before.
    Also I strongly recommend team bonding on the first day after the match along with recovery.

    Good content again Z. 👏
    More by good luck than good management I already do something very similar. Very few rest slots.
    But I have 2 training schedules for pre season. One focussed on physical, the other on physical and tactical, which I alternate to stop players moaning (and improve tactical side).
    I then have schedules for attacking, defending, possession, tactical, technique. And a set piece which I rarely use. I try to cram as many match prep sessions in as possible and at least 1 recovery and 1 team bonding type activity. I alternate and move to a different schedule each week.
    I also have schedules for Tuesday and Saturday match weeks and Wednesday and Saturday match weeks.
    Oh and I have a no fixture schedule that contains no match prep sessions at all.
    If games change I will tweak on the fly but not change the schedule itself. Example adding penalties if playing in a cup game that may go to penalties.
    I have no idea if I get less injuries as I haven’t done any testing.

      For U18/U23 I do the following:
      - Drop all the match boosts (since who cares if you win!?) in favour of attribute training
      - Have physical training on Saturday instead of a "Match" session as those teams don't always have matches (sometimes even when you tell their managers to schedule friendlies!!)

    Slightly different from how I do it this time although there are similarities. Will be interesting on how I will incorporate it into mine. The double overall might lead to players complaining about too much physical training though and I personally prefer double recovery if I get the chance. Again overall a great minds think alike thing. Rest slots are for losers ;)
    Mine looks like this:
    Post match: Recovery, Recovery, Match review (if enough tac familiarity outfield) / Physical, Delivery, team bonding (this is lightest and offsets intensity of physical)/ Outfield, Chance Creation (need one technical training and boosts happiness most), Shot Stopping (need one GK training past post season) / Defending, Defending Engaged (or whatever your tactic style is), Defensive movement ( I like my theme days) / Attacking, Attacking Patient, Attacking movement/ Teamwork, Match Tactics ( or chance conversion if tac familiarity high), Match Preview.
    So there is a bout a 90 percent overlap just some order differences.
    For the 2 matches in the week thing I am still working under the assumption that it is just for next match and I will always try and sneak that 1 physical and 1 team bonding in. So it is very different.

    • @DavidB010385
      @DavidB010385 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My advice for semi-pro/amateur clubs would be to focus on sessions that boost team cohesion and tactical familiarity so make Match Tactics, Team Bonding and Teamwork as well as either Attacking Movement or Defensive Shape the main priority and throw in the attacking set pieces sessions if you get that third day in the week. This should get your team up to speed much quicker than the AI and give you a big advantage. If/when cohesion and familiarity are high you can sessions out that focus on development though I wouldn't worry about this too much as players show very little development through training unless on full-time contracts.

    Z - on Wed you have 3 sessions which all have a 60% priority on the attacking unit. How does this effect:
    *A: The injury risk to that specific unit?*
    I've never tested it, but my suspicion is that the engine calculates player injuries *per session*.
    My "evidence" is that I see injuries come in when the game sims forward part way through a day.
    I often look to see what that player was doing during that day and it often tallies up with the session type (though I haven't confirmed through testing). I.e. Attacking players getting injured when the attacking unit has the 60% focus.
    *B: The effectiveness of coaches?*
    I have zero evidence for this as the coaching workload seems to be calculated on a period longer than a day. But I guess you could test this by creating a schedules that target attacking and defending. In one, clump the sessions, in another simulation, mix them.
    _Note: It might be hard to isolate the results of the test from A_

    I leave training to my assistant, but sometimes change some specific sessions to address issues i see during the matches. For example, if i notice we are getting a lot of chances but not scoring, i set some finishing training sessions, or if i see i'm conceding a lot of set piece goals, i set it to defensive set pieces. Or if there's one big game coming and it's against a big team, i put some defensive training and attacking set pieces because that one opportunity can get you that important goal.

    I would add 1 - rest session and 1 - recovery session in week and swap physical with overall. I use in 1-match week setup match practise. I think also that people often use high pressing so use pressing session. I am also mutch more stricly in rest (no, no, half, normal, double). You dont need to care about players resting individualy and you can use 2nd day after match high intesity training without injuries.

    • @ZealandonYT
      @ZealandonYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Try no,half,normal-normal, double
      Only use the physical one every three weeks, and match practice is too intense, only use it when you don’t have a match that week, that’s the thought process to stay fit on our end

  • @darrelldadams

    This actually raises an important question : Just HOW similar is a test simulation to actually playing the Game?
    i see a LOT of "tactic testing" videos and the assumption is that simulating a match or an entire season is more or less comparable to actually playing. Question is...How sure are we that the game mechanics for simulating results are the same as the mechanics for actually playing the game?
    Simulating a match takes far less time than playing. If the mechanics are the same, does that mean that when we actually play a match, that most of the what we see is filler? is the result of a match we play actually determined in the first few minutes ? or, if the actions we take in a match have considerable impact, does that mean that simulating matches/seasons are kinda worthless?
    i would assume that training mechanics are exactly the same, since training is always simulated.
    Sorry; this was kinda off- topic.
    When you spoke about your team simulating results, it just reminded me of this question I've had for a while.
    its mainly due to the fact that i've watched tons of "Best OP tactic in FM ..." videos, and never had the same results that the content creator had in their simulations.

    • @raferu
      @raferu 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the same question like you. I tested many of this "op" tactics, all seem not to work like they show. But RDF has at least the best results for me in 3D Game. But still you need to tweak the tactics to optimize it.
      I make my own tactics now. I have a Sporting CP Save and make a 343/523 and used the tips from Sensei Zealand. But my feeling was just after 3-4 month the tactic is working after many tweaking. But still need to adjust in some games! So to come to an end now, I think to play 3D game give you more "control" over results, than simulating!

    • @Sayengwar
      @Sayengwar 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I was told back when I played FM Live, when that was a thing, is that the match engine calculates the results at the start of the match and then it re-calculates the result dependant on any changes you or the AI make during the match (injuries, subs, tactical tweaks, shouts, team-talks, etc.)
      It would take a lot of work to have a live simulation that calculates results as you go along the match, especially as people will watch matches at different speeds to others, which means the simulated results probably would be slightly different if played by a human controlled person as they are likely to do more tweaks, more changes and different subs to what the AI would do.
      It's definitely pre-determined at the start (as soon as you press to start the match) but everything we do can change the outcome. Think of it as a simulator that takes your inputs, and outputs the result but in a more visual format

    Could you create tactics to prepare your own team to face these tactics. For example. My main tactic for my Sesvete save is A 4-2-4 Wing play system but a lot of teams use 4-2-3-1 which is effective against my tactic. I tried using a 4-3-3 to counter this but my strikers started complaining about game time. So could I make a 3rd tactic for my team to train against so that they could learn how to counter it?

    • @foodtenswhalestream940
