I really like how they handled Lord Soth with his dragon mount and higher level undead servants. This makes it easy to create an amazing encounter with not only him but a bunch of other related creatures as well.
I like how they gave Lord Soth a boost in here. I believe he was the first ever appearance of a Death Knight in D&D, way back in 1e. Also, the picture of a Death Knight in the 5e MM is a picture of him from way back in the day from Dragonlance. I always saw him as the Darth Vader of Krynn.
Finally seeing some good design behind "unit" enemies that benefit from each other's presence (like the Dragon troops and non-hostile dragons, or Lord Soth and his undead) that can make for interesting and strategic encounters. This adventure could also pair very well with MCDM products like Kingdoms and Warfare if people are looking for an excuse to test that stuff out.
I can see Lord Soth's Word of Death ability being part of a new Power Word Kill spell for One D&D.
I’m enjoying the skeletal knights and their unique attacks with their swords. It forces player to think when they engage because they won’t be able to heal until it gets to the skeletal knights turn again.
I think they did a really good job with the monsters in this book. I love dragons!
Thanks for covering more Dragonlance! I’m really enjoying the new book - I read it over Xmas break and am looking forward to starting my Krynn campaign in a couple months. Gonna change up a few things storywise, but over all I think the adventure’s pretty solid.

"Cataclysm fire" is something WotC came up for Shadow of the Dragon Queen.
It has never been mentioned before in Dragonlance, to the best of my knowledge.
So, it's as new to Krynn as it is to any other RPG setting.
The draconians in this book are the same. In the descriptions of the fizban's ones their krynn names are given.
See, that's what I assumed at first, but there's actually a handful of differences ranging in significance.
Baaz - Basically the same except for Draconic Devotion, letting officers command them to attack as a reaction.
Bozak - Switched their Necrotic Ray for a Lightning Ray and added Web to their arsenal, ntm explicitly tagging them as "Sorcerer" lets them use magic items available to that class.
Kapak - Also basically the same, but they added Deception as a skill for however much that's worth.
Sivak - Altered their death throes significantly, making them form a frightening phantasm of their killer for 1 minute. Also, more minor thing, but their Shape Theft can be ended as a bonus action instead of a standard action. =/
Aurak - Added Aura of Command, added Dominate Person to their arsenal, and explicitly tagged them as "Sorcerer" for the same reason as the bozaks. Unfortunately, they took away their Magic Shield reaction, so they're less defensive.
It's not a lot, but still, I've had some fun swapping around these traits to make the draconians more varied, curious to see how it all shakes out in actual play when my Dragonlance group can meet up again, lol.
Lord soth really should have the oathbreaker paladin abilities
I like how they give lower CR creatures more hit points, but I hate how they’ve changed the way spellcasting is done.

Death knights, dragons, undead dragons, a Cataclysm, an evil dragon that leads its offspring to destroy and conquer, eggs of good dragons being corrupted into evil monsters, world-spanning wars, typical fantasy races (elves, gnomes, dwarves, orcs, etc.).
Is Azeroth Krynn's long lost twin?

Just on Draconians... one metallic dragon egg will be corrupted to birth multiple draconians, so dozens of them burst out of the one egg rather than it being a one for one trade.
Red Ruin is pretty nasty. Since she has Draconic Devotion and rides a friendly dragon. All of her attacks have advantage.
Saw a comment somewhere else that she could be easily disposed of through polymorph on her mount.
I like the draconians.
Kinda sad not a whole lot of new monsters were released. We got the reprints with Draconians for example, but hey, its dragons so that's always a plus.
Yes Fizban's seems to have stolen some of this books thunder. But it's still a good adventure.

I Downloaded the dnd app I am trying to get the tortle.
Not a lot of dragons for a book named dragonlance. The dragons here are mostly undead or monstrosities.
True. But then again they did release Fizban's which covers dragons. Not to mention this is a campaign/module and not a source book. So it makes sense that they wouldn't just reprint everything from other published sources.

Why are levels of exhaustion “granted”? Shouldn’t they be “inflicted”? It is such an odd wording to me.
Lord Soth's signature ability was just left out from his stats. Wizards of the coast should have never dealt with dnd. They brought the most numbers of controversal things into the game. Shame.
