Very refreshing to see Allan Holdsworth and his music still being appreciated and respected by incredibly capable people. You sir, are amazing. Thanks for continuing to carry that torch!
Thank you to everybody for the wonderful comments! Allan Holdsworth's music is sacred to me and I probably wouldn't be playing guitar anymore if his music didn't exist. I have a lot more transcriptions as well as a few "Allan inspired" originals coming up. Stay tuned!
@@henrys.6864 Yes. Every phrase has a unique and specific emotion. I've never seen it really covered well. No one really has tried to perceive the emotional content of the phrases and duplicate it. Its so much more than shredding to match the notes. I don't play guitar, I play drums so I can understand it emotionally. I respect that a guitarist has enough work to shred and match it. It's probably asking too much to have a guitarist truly understand that solo emotionally and cover the EMOTIONAL content of each phrase. It's my favorite (obviously) of all the AH solos.
I'm a Rock Fusion guitarist from back when it all started. I'm very impressed with your playing. Holdsworth and Al Di Meola are my two biggest influence. I can't tell you how good it is to see a young guitarist bring Fusion back to life. Best wishes to you.
Ditto. I first noticed DiMeola and soon thereafter Allan playing with Jean Luc Ponty. I became an avid fan of both, listening endlessly to their discs. The early seventies were great for Rock. The late seventies were amazing for jazz rock fusion.
Allan Holdsworth was from another planet...I would never attempt to replicate his playing but there are daring souls that do and did that successfully !
When I heard that Allan passed away, that was one of the saddest moment in my life. I've been a huge a fan of his. But I'm so glad there are still many of talents like Francois Chavallon who continue to show Allan's music and bring back the genius piece of work of the guitar master. Your cover is perfect dude, displaying good skill and passion in fusion music. GBU brother...
One of my fave solo's I absolutely love to blast from my car from Holdsworth... It was as mindblowing as the EVH solos ("Eruption" , in particular... ) I heard for the first time when I was a teenager in the mid '80's....INCREDIBLE transcribed reproduction, Sir....
For nearly 30 years I've wondered since I first heard this song, "could any other human being reproduce that solo?". You just answered my question. You are probably one of the best guitarists alive today for pulling that off so cleanly and that's no exaggeration. Anyone that can play like that could play anything.

I first heard this composition on "Road Games" ( 1983). And what a dream it was. Your rendition is very close to the original, deserving sincere congratulations. Greetings from Antwerp, Belgium
Agreed! That is my favorite era as well! Allan continued to innovate throughout his entire career, and those last few albums of his are the holy grail of fusion guitar in my opinion. My only wish is that he had continued to make more solo albums after 16 Men, but unfortunately that never manifested.
@@yeptoo1148 Yes! I really love his 2000’s “style/sound”, you can tell that as he got older, he continued to innovate and explore. That Proto Cosmos live recording is absolutely incredible, I loved his work with Alan Pasqua around that time 😁
Holy fuck. The feel required to get this right... and you got it right...

And he seems quite relaxed too! Wow.

Amen Brother!
Best use of a PRS I've ever seen, the flying birds make sense here! I wanted the green Carvin, but I was not worthy.
You can tell in his face how stoked he is after nailing some of those lines haha. Good job my man 🤘
I was so happy haha
Astonishing. Makes you realize just how unique and, yes, insane was Allan Holdsworth's level of technical and harmonic virtuosity.
Right? That's the key word...INSANE
