- Hello Folks ! This is my attempt to cover Tokyo Dream, a song by the late guitar wizard, Mr Allan Holdsworth.
I always loved this version, Allan's solo improvisation is really incredible, the chords are beautiful, so are the keyboard sounds and of course, the crazy bass lines and drum so !

Well done. I learned the chords to this from his uncommon chord book. I think the orginal solo that was released is best. The man was a Genius. Glad i saw him six times

Wow!! Terrific playing!! Saw Holdsworth in the mid 80s at The Beacon Theater in NYC. He opened for Al DiMeolia and I believe Danny Gottlieb played the drums then played drums for Al D. Half the audience were probably guitar players.
Tokyo Dream is WHEN I started to love everything about Allan Holdsworth till in the 80's. Always amazing performance. Good job.

Great job! I tried to learn the chord part but could never get the technique to sound good. It sucks that Allan hated when people played his licks. It's the ultimate compliment. He said people should make up their own melodies. Sorry, we're not you, Allan! I met him a couple of times but never talked guitar. Just sound equipment and beer.
