Hey Randy thanks for all these videos, last year I couldn't catch a bass ever, I religiously watch all your videos and I've learned so much. This week on a chatterbait I've caught the 3 biggest bass so far, of 4-5 lbs. Just wanted to give you a shout out on all your wisdom.
All I use unless I fish my local river then I switch to a black and blue with a craw trailer(usually a googan bandito bug) and I just slow roll it along the bank line and smack them all day.
I just Started fishing with a chatterbox last spring and I have caught a lot of huge bass on it went today and caught a bass over 6lbs she almost took the rod out of my hands ! Awesome lure
Chatterbaits are some of the funnest baits to throw year round. I even throw mine in the creeks and smallies seem to LOVE them too. My biggest bass I’ve ever caught have been chatter bait
Hey Randy, I watched this video and went out to my local reservoir and within 5 casts I caught my first bass ever on a chatterbait. Thank you for your informative video, I learned alot.
I've fished chatterbaits until I'm blue in the face, but so far I've yet to even get a hit on one! Not sure what I'm doing wrong, or maybe my area just isn't well-suited for chatterbaits, but I still catch more fish on a spinnerbait.
Northern snakehead here in Maryland absolutely attack chatterbaits from nowhere, it's my go to early summer before the grass takes over. I started making my own cuz I catch them so often on it. I think it pisses them off from the vibration
I like them, and they catch me a lot of bass, but I almost quit buying them due to getting hung up so much and losing so darn many...I just can't afford to throw money away.
There are company’s that make them with weed guards. There’s some that allows you to rig your trailer weedless or if you use a wide trailer like a rage bug . It will come over wood better.
The trick is using an open eye underspin insert, meant for their underspin swimbait jugheads, as the line tie. Just put the blade in and close it up. It's a lot stronger than it looks.

One of the best trailers is the Hog Farmer Spunk Shad.

I got my pb of 7lb 9oz on an orange thunder cricket, the big girls definitely like a chaterbait.

Randy thanks for sharing all your tips with us.
I have one tied on every time I go fishing. Great bait!

Thx!
Awesome tip. Fantastic lure. Thanks for sharing!
The right time to fish a chatterbait is all the time. Every time I think their not eating it . Someone catches them on it. It works almost all year.
My PB came on a bladed jig, dragging it across the bottom in some of the muddiest water I’ve ever seen🎣
Haven’t even tied one on this year, did catch a 6-15 on a spinnerbait, and several others
Randy, when using a paddletail as a trailer, do you have to modify the tail or anything so it doesn't mess with the chatterbait blade? Thanks!

Same I catch on a swim jig but not a chatter bait
I find I get a lot of short strikes from smaller fish. However when I get a solid hit it’s usually a toad.

Love the video man thanks for some tips. Gotta new subscriber
great video super clear and extremely helpful thank you!
Another big tournament win for the “dreaded” forward-facing sonar.
Nice video bro! Just a question i want to ask do i need to use a weighted hook for chatterbait?
It’s weighted. Usually 3/8 oz and up.
what speed real you using for chatterbait
where do use a black/ blue one?
I still prefer the spinnerbait myself.

I make my own for the same reason. I also use the Do-it Poison Swing Tail Mold for the heads, so I can put an offset EWG on it.

The one and only Bryan Thrift was that angler.
He's a hammer!
He is! I just bought his Ranger!
I throw it every time I go but never catch
