Sorry folks we're a bit delayed on the steak sauces video, that'll be coming soon. Also don't know what happened to the microphone at the end of this one 🤔
Sticky toffee pudding became our favorite dessert while living in Aberdeen, Scotland. Now that we are back in the states, the treacle is called ‘blackstrap molasses’ in case there are others across the pond scratching their heads about this ingredient. Thanks for this yummy recipe!
Check the International sections in stores as there’s often Lyles golden syrup and Fowler’s treacle, both standard ingredients in British pantry’s. I’ve always been able to find treacle in Safeway here in Alberta.
I made this recipe for my family and our grandchildren today. They absolutely devoured it and couldn't praise it enough. Thank you so much for sharing and making us all very happy and fulfilled.
Just made this. So much YUM! I accidently added 1/2 tsp more baking powder than the recipe called for and the cake still turned out fantastic. The best recipes are those that can deliver deliciousness despite amateur mistakes. 😃
I just had this after a roast this evening - my first attempt for making sticky toffee pudding though I had it made so many times and always wanted to try. It was delicious and my friends and husband liked it very much too. I checked several recipes beforehand and chose this one for a thorough and easy-to-follow method. Very happy with the result - Thank you!!!
That looks so delicious, and I can imagine the wonderful aroma!! 😋 I love your baking pan!! It looks well used...I'm sure that many a dish made with love has been cooked in it!! ❤️
Was well worth it and delicious. My family loved it and asked for more! Easy to make as well as I prepped all the ingredients the night before. Then was bish bash bosh. Gorgeous.
This is pretty much the same as how I make it except I soak the dates with black tea! If you've never tried this before, I really recommend you give it a try
@Mercourio That sounds good as well...and the Earl Grey would give it another layer of flavour, because it definitely doesn't have a neutral flavour. Now I'm wondering about other teas, like Darjeeling or English Breakfast. Time to start experimenting!! 🇨🇦😁🇨🇦
Great recipe! Usually when i try to follow recipes on youtube they come out terrible. But this is the 4th recipe from this channel I've made and they all came out great. Cant wait for more recipes.
Looks so good 😊 well I know what I’ll be making for desert on Sunday when my son and his partner comes for dinner ! I just love sticky toffee pudding. Thanks Nikki for another amazing dish , ps the curry base sauce it’s absolutely delicious!!! 💕
We made it! You were all right, it was so delicious!! Thanks Kitchen Sanctuary for this recipe, it's always so easy following along with you while watching the video
I made your recipe last weekend, truly delicious, it was lovely and light in texture.. It's definitely one to make with a full house so as not to want to eat seconds and thirds and fourths.
There’s light and then there’s lite, the sponge should be light and fluffy but the dessert as a whole is never going to be lite in calories. Either way it’s always delish.
This is a beautiful video. Also, I've never seen or eaten this recipe before. I've definitely heard of it. I'm in the USA. People do make it here it's just not very common.
WOW I wonder how many meals have been made in that much loved baking dish!!!! Great recipe which I will try some time soon. Is the black trickle molasses?
Great recipe and my favourite dessert - but I do only make it twice a year, for obvious reasons! Did you know that this cooks perfectly in the microwave in a Pyrex dish? Only six mins on high! I make it in two-portion plastic lidded dishes and freeze for later. It does need pouring cream as well as vanilla ice cream - we’ll, it’s only twice a year. 😋
That looks wonderful! I’ve been wanting to make a toffee pudding for ages and I was already subscribed to you! Years ago I used to make a gingerbread cake w/ a lemon sauce that was pretty good. I don’t know why these types of desserts aren’t that popular here in the US. At least, you usually can’t find them in restaurants.I think Americans just don’t like desserts even though I know they do, but they don’t expect to find them in restaurants. I don’t get it. All you ever find are the most boring and tasteless mass produced apple pies or chocolate cakes.
Americans prefer HoHos and Ring Dings and Yodels. They don't want to pay the price for delicious desserts in a restaurant and they certainly don't want to spend the money to make such a lovely dessert.
Going to cook this next week, I've made your Crispy Chilli Beef before it was great and very spicy. I have recently subscribed to you and think your food is great keep up the good work 👍
I think it worth mentioning that, if you order this pudding in a restaurant you need to be very mindful that it’s probably been reheated in a microwave oven. When sugar is overheated it becomes almost nuclear, we had to rush my friend to the hospital, her mouth was so badly burned & blistered. She consumed nothing but very cold milkshakes for the rest of our holiday, it was ruined for all of us. I grabbed a clean napkin & a handful of ice on the way out, where the manager was remonstrating with her husband & my Dad because we hadn’t hung around to pay the bill. When we showed him what his staff were responsible for he almost fainted, the wuss.
Made this on Sunday evening, had to used dark muscavado sugar but it worked a treat, was just extra toffee-ee. Bit dangerous to know how to cook this though, it’s tooooo good.
Sorry folks we're a bit delayed on the steak sauces video, that'll be coming soon. Also don't know what happened to the microphone at the end of this one 🤔
Your recipes are wonderful and super delicious keep up the good work 😀

@@lonelystrumminbean02 Ha, I wanted to know the same thing. Never heard of it before.
I would enjoy baking one of your chocolate chip muffin recipe nicky.
Sticky toffee pudding became our favorite dessert while living in Aberdeen, Scotland. Now that we are back in the states, the treacle is called ‘blackstrap molasses’ in case there are others across the pond scratching their heads about this ingredient. Thanks for this yummy recipe!
I'm aussie, couldn't find treacle but did have molasses. I found it too smoky flavoured
thanks for that-i was wondering what i could substitute for treacle
Wow thanks for that as I was going to nix the recipe as "where was I going to find treacle" good news and thanks again 😘
I have now made this 5 times and it comes out perfect every time. My extended family actually request this dessert. We love it.
I made this with my Nana today and it was excellent. Nicky strikes again, we will carry on working through the book 💪 👨🍳
Just made this. So much YUM! I accidently added 1/2 tsp more baking powder than the recipe called for and the cake still turned out fantastic. The best recipes are those that can deliver deliciousness despite amateur mistakes. 😃
Just served this for our thanksgiving dessert in Toronto. Thank you for a great recipe.
What a sweet lady! And I loved her baking tray. It's so authentic.

This is pretty much the same as how I make it except I soak the dates with black tea! If you've never tried this before, I really recommend you give it a try
Interesting!! I'm definitely going to try that!! 😋
@Mercourio That sounds good as well...and the Earl Grey would give it another layer of flavour, because it definitely doesn't have a neutral flavour. Now I'm wondering about other teas, like Darjeeling or English Breakfast. Time to start experimenting!! 🇨🇦😁🇨🇦
Oooh that sounds interesting
@Mercourio Earl Grey is my favourite tea and the only tea I drink. So good!
Thanks for the tip. Will try it!
Great recipe! Usually when i try to follow recipes on youtube they come out terrible. But this is the 4th recipe from this channel I've made and they all came out great. Cant wait for more recipes.

Its a lovely British dessert I plan on making this winter.🙂🙂
Wow looks very delicious must try thanks. 👍👍
"Lightly grease the pan" I had to stop the video I had tears of laughter, 💖I LOVE you Nicky NEFF
You wouldn't consider that a light greasing? It spread pretty evenly, pretty big dish to grease.
My kind of greasing
Love that baking dish and the recipe of course.
Thanks for sharing this video Nikki., Looking forward to making it soon, love sticky toffee pudding but never made it yet. 🥰
The way you made the source was so easy
I think your you tube recipes are fantastic I watch you on a regular base , however I wish you did do another on Thursday blessing ❤️

Just wanted to let you know I made this.... Absolouty delicious, will be making it again. Thanks Nikki 🥰 x
In Australia we get lots of the British cooking tradition, but this is the one that we have missed, I have always wanted to try this! 😋
I remember having a delicious sticky date pudding sometime during the 80's up at Falls Creek, Victoria after a ski day.
Wow! I just finished making this and tasting it. It's so good it's going to be my xmas dinner dessert. Thank you!
Yes, love it. Its my favorite
Oh - this looks lush! I can't have dairy so will try this with some plant based cream and flora and see how it goes
Let us know how you get on making it a dairy free version.
Ditto, I was thinking Coconut milk and cocunut cream as most likely candidates.
Love your channel, another great recipe 👍
Thank you so much 👍
Just made your pud, another great success, need another hole in my belt if this carries on. Well done, it was delicious 😋😋😋
Fantastic!

This was outstanding!!
Just love sticky toffee pudding🙂💗
Looks delicious 👌🏻 Greetings from Scotland 😊 Have a wonderful day everyone 🌻
"light" isn't a word i'd use to describe this dessert
😂 right
The sponge should be light 'in texture'- alas not in calories 😋😋😋
I agree!
Light, heavy, who gives a shit as long as it tastes good
There’s light and then there’s lite, the sponge should be light and fluffy but the dessert as a whole is never going to be lite in calories. Either way it’s always delish.
Oh my goodness Nicky, my mouth is watering looking at that delicious pudding…….mmmmm
This is a beautiful video. Also, I've never seen or eaten this recipe before. I've definitely heard of it. I'm in the USA. People do make it here it's just not very common.
Bread and butter is my favourite British pud with custard
Amazing as usual
Lovely will be making that tonight .
OMG that looks delicious!
WOW I wonder how many meals have been made in that much loved baking dish!!!! Great recipe which I will try some time soon. Is the black trickle molasses?
I wondered that as well.
I commented the same thing about the baking dish. ❤️
It’s my absolute favorite!

UB

Great recipe and my favourite dessert - but I do only make it twice a year, for obvious reasons!
Did you know that this cooks perfectly in the microwave in a Pyrex dish? Only six mins on high! I make it in two-portion plastic lidded dishes and freeze for later. It does need pouring cream as well as vanilla ice cream - we’ll, it’s only twice a year. 😋

OMFG PURE BRITISHNESS. BEAUTIFUL
Omg!! Yes, please. That looks delicious.
Will definitely give your version a try, We usually use Nigellas , but this looks fantastic .. ooh my waist isn’t going to like this 😂. ❤️
Hi Nicky! Haven't had this for ages, thanks 🙂
I think Mrs Noah had that baking dish on the ark lol
LOL
Was just gonna say that dish been well used lol.
That looks lush mmmm I’ve. Made your tea bread it was amazing ever. One loved it never made it before . Thank you for all your recipes xxx
Looks amazing😍
But do we eat it warm from the oven or cold? I’m a bit unsure😗
Other than that thank you for a lovely recipe ❤
Looks absolutely delicious 😋!!!
Going to cook this next week, I've made your Crispy Chilli Beef before it was great and very spicy. I have recently subscribed to you and think your food is great keep up the good work 👍
Out with the apron & oven gloves. I’m gonna make this tonight! Been craving sticky toffee pudding the past few weeks you psychic 🔮
Omg thts looks amazing, can't wait to try this 😋😋😋😋xx
I'd like to see how to make short crust and flaky pastry. Homemade always tastes so much better than bought albeit less time consuming.
Omg that’s seriously yummy 😍

You mention brown sugar for the sauce in the video but the recipe states light Muscovado? Is it ok to use normal brown sugar? Thanks
They’re pretty interchangeable, in my opinion.
I am literally drooling😊👍🏻
You can keep your chocolate cakes, STP Every time. The Cartmet one is the best I’ve tried so far (I’ve not made this one yet)
Omg I must try this!
Hi. Would you be able to show us how best to make Shakshuka? Thanks
Made this on Sunday evening, had to used dark muscavado sugar but it worked a treat, was just extra toffee-ee.
Bit dangerous to know how to cook this though, it’s tooooo good.
