This is a British CLASSIC that everyone should try at least once. Being here in the states it's rare to see it on the menu, but I've had some good ones here... this one from Jamie is sure to blow it out of the water! Make your mum and the entire family happy this coming Mother's Day or anytime you want to be sweet to yourself or you mum!
My mom and dad spent a good deal traveling to England in the 60's, 70's and 80's. Mom learned the only way one should prepare roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. She ALWAYS made sticky toffee pudding for Christmas! She was blessed with old family recipes from friends she made on her travels. My mother has since passed, but I make these two recipes now. I'm just a girl from Studio City, California. Never been to England, but my friends eat every bite! So yummy!❤
I absolutely love Sticky Toffee Pudding. I live by myself so I use a jumbo muffin pan and its the perfect size, and easily enjoyed with the toffee sauce. I always add dark rum to my sauce so I am amazed to see Jamie do that! Sticky Toffee Pudding is delicious no matter how its made!
Thank you, just thank you. I really needed this right now. Being in America and asa child that was living in the middle of no where, the only channel I could get was PBS. Having little reason to laugh outside of my room, I voraciously devoured anything that would make me laugh. Monty Python being the never miss show. It also introduced my to Dr. Who. I still want to get a replicate of Tom Baker 's scarf. Being undiagnosed with autism and desperately trying to find anything to adapt to, to ensure survival. I too this day can unknowingly break into a British accent. From those shows somehow I heard about a truly magical treat. Sticky toffee pudding. I have sadly never had it, but I can dream. I consumed vast quantities of Ben and Jerry,'s sticky toffee pudding limited time flavor. So after some of the worst weeks of my life. Including an attempt at un-life myself. I go to TH-cam and this video shows up. Like a balm for a shattered soul. You two just being happy. Making a magical mythical treat from my childhood. And showing me how to make this at home. Just thank you. But if I do make it I must remember to put some out for the old Gods, the Fay, and pretty much anything else that is out there that means no harm.I Lucan Lokeson
That's the best Mother's Day present is to be in the kitchen with her, cooking and talking about what wonderful things that she would do that you still remember and do. ❤

Hi Jamie....I happened to make it onSunday when my aunty came to visit,my recipe however is different, no muscavado sugar, definitely no rum as I have a toddler lol and bicarbonate of soda over the dates and not tea, eager to try your version tho, pity I can't load my photo it came out great regardless!
Jamie, your sticky toffee desert looks delicious and I can’t wait to try it out. My question for you is in the ingredients. You list pumpkin or squash in the recipe, but in your video you don’t use it. So is pumpkin or squash in or out of the recipe? Thanks for clearing that up. Your mum looks awesome. How nice you two could make a video together
I am from America, and I have always associated Dates with Christmas. My great grandma made sticky toffee pudding. Thanks for sharing, this brings back great memories.
looks good and easy. I loved the dialogue with your mum! I do not have self raising flour only all purpose, what do I need to do to create it for this recipe? I want to give it a go! Thanks
Hello, thank you for sharing the recipe that made me fall in love with England :). I have a question, in the video I seem to understand we need 450gr pitted dates but the recipe in the link mentions 200gr. which amount is the correct please? Many thanks.
So love sticky toffee pudding, and would love to give this a try, but here in Canada we don't have either double or even single cream☹ Wish I knew what we could use instead as a substitute?
Diabetes happens without desserts. If you eat a lot and you are obese most probably you will develop diabetes, but if you eat reasonable amount of any food and you are physically active and your BMI is normal, you can eat desserts every day.
This is my favorite dessert of all time. The minute I touch down in England it's the first thing I want. Fortunately here in New York City there are a few places where you can get a decent sticky toffee pudding.
@@Zipfei_KloatscherI am not, because I am talking to nobody, you do not have even a name, nobody like you always afraid of something and making "clever" comments
Is delicious.. but I dont belive that is British classic haha specially with dates.. in time whan Jaime was child.. english don’t know what is dates or tasty food 😜
See now this is perfectly fine. Jamie, just stick to cooking these kind of dishes and leave Asian (and other non-European, and Spanish) cuisine alone. There's nothing wrong with staying within your lane, and this is loads better than that Ramen/soba frankenstein creation you made a while back.
Oh Jesus Christ it's Jaime Oliver, he's going to make it healthy, horrible, and shove a random gay jam in it that does not belong in it then serve it lame.

A beautiful dessert for a beautiful Mum Jamie, you are a very lucky Boy. Happy Mother's Day Jamie's Mum x
Thank you and your Mom. Loved being in the kitchen with my Mom. She’s been gone almost 20 years. Very special. ❤

"Oh, God, it's sunk" - gotcha!!! LOVE IT!!!! These two have such a good interplay - would love to see more of Jaimie's mum!
What a lovely vibrant mother !! ❤
Great to see Mum on Mum's Day! A lovely, indulgent pud here. Nice one Jamie! 🌟👍

tried this British classic in Cambridge, it was amazing! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
I ordered my first sticky toffee pudding at Browns London (circa mid-90s) before a night of theater. Delish!

I would also like to know if you need to add pumpkin or not?
Yum! Absolutely delicious ❤
Did this . Insanely good. Amazing pudding 👌
Hello Jamie you r u the best.
Your mom is a gorgeous lady.❤

Amazing pudding! And beautiful video!
I love the dessert it's very nice thank you for sharing from Amy
Your mum is lovely isn’t she Jamie x
I make this exact recipe every Xmas, 😋
Do you add the pumpkin or butternut? In the video it's left out
Hello, thank you for sharing the recipe that made me fall in love with England :). I have a question, in the video I seem to understand we need 450gr pitted dates but the recipe in the link mentions 200gr. which amount is the correct please? Many thanks.
The written recipe also states pumpkin, but it's not in the video
I think they substituted 250gr of dates for the pumpkin
Extremely delicious 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🍃🥀🍃🥀
It seems really good! 👀
All right I am making this tomorrow
IT'S F**KING DELICIOUS!!
Looks tasty 😋
loved it ❤
Dry dates are the best flavor wise. Tunisian or from Madina.
The ingredient list on your website has '250 g leftover cooked pumpkin or butternut squash'. I am assuming this is an error.
Screwing around with mom’s recipe 🥲🥲
So love sticky toffee pudding, and would love to give this a try, but here in Canada we don't have either double or even single cream☹ Wish I knew what we could use instead as a substitute?
Whipping cream will do
😮😍 SOOOOO L👁️👁️king forward to trying this recipe.
Proper old-school English grub smashing 👌.
To sweet
Half nutmeg? Are you serious?
"Look Mom. Here's how you butter and flour a cake pan. Bet you never saw that before! Aren't I clever?"
My brother uses dates and spiced pineapple for his pudding.
❤❤
On your website u mentioned to add ginger and roasted pumpkin or squash... we dont see this here
I have been wondering about the same two ingredients? can't seem to get an answer from Jamies staff!
❤
I have seen this before by him ...did he post this for second time
مناسبه لشهر رمضان المبارك
Especially the rum part isn't it. Enough desserts with dates to make in the middle eastern cuisine.
❤❤❤❤
Glad you told us that was your Mum. I thought it was your SISTER. ;)
Cool
🥰😍🥰🥰😍

😊
Here you say 300mls boiling water and in the written recipe 150mls
Subtitles are really out of sync.
👍👍
Mam❤
She's not old enough to be your mum.

Problem is they'll run out of dishes to make in no time.
