hey guys! loving the input right here. I have long hair just like you Braz. I've got a tricky question though.
I'm assuming this is a course of a week with not much physical activity? What if you train sports / yoga / calisthenics around 4-5 times a week, also outdoors where its absolutely humid (50%-60% humidity in our city!).
How would you go about it? Washing hair very often is not recommended. Do we just water wash it in this case? to get that sweat/humidity off it? Could never find a good answer to this (: -- some people would say "yuck" (especially my sister), but I still wont shampoo/wash more than 2 times a week. I have curly hair anyway so the oils don't travel as fast as of a straight hair.
p.s. i use some hydrating product some days to keep that neat and tidy look after an only water wash, otherwise its so messy & frizzy after intense training in the humid weather.
      Awaiting your valuable feedback!

I have to rinse my hair with water before styling it (every morning). I have porous wavey/curly hair and I shampoo&condition once or twice a week - depending on activity. My hair is naturally very dry due to the porosity so I use the LOC method (Leave in conditioner + Oil + Cream) to be able to style it and ensure it looks somewhat healthy.
I recently went 5 days without washing and it wasn't too bad! You can see what I'm talking about in my most recent video upload 😎 I think there's no rule to this - you must experiment!

I am used to washing my hair every time I step in the shower. If I showered 2 or 3 times a day, I washed my hair that many times. Being in the Army and having short hair, was a regular thing. Plus, growing up, my parents told me to wash my hair every day. So it was kind of ingrained in me. Now that I have retired from the Army and let my hair grow, it is still a struggle not to wash it every day. With it down to my shoulders, I have found washing every other or every third day has helped alleviate tangles. The problem with me is I am still being active outside, and have a daily gym routine; I just feel like I need to wash it. It feels dirty, but I am trying to stick to my guns here.

I basically just rinse my hair out on days that i do workout, but what I've found to be most effective is shampooing and conditioning at least like 2 times a week. I have super thick hair which may play a role, but I've found my hair to be a whole lot healthier when I actually condition. That's been the real key. My hair is only medium length and don’t shampoo it for at least 7 days or more and it doesn’t actually become greasy on its own and if I make it greasy with moisturizing products, it will dry off within a matter of days. The only thing is if it gets itchy, but both conditioner and dry shampoo fix that, so I really only have to shampoo to cleanse any product buildup if I’ve been using any styling products, or if it actually gets dirty from touching the floor outside or whatever, but it still wouldn’t be often, and I can still basically reset it with just a co-wash, but I just eventually do end up cleansing out my hair with sulfate-free shampoo and then I use moisturizing products after to make it not actually dry and especially at the bottom because that’s the driest part.

Ok. My truth. Full disclaimer, I have a shaved head, full beard of varying length from time to time.
Three years ago I gave up on soap and shampoo. I discovered that under normal circumstances one does not need them.
All that washing strips away natural oils that are good for the health of hair and skin. I do not smell bad (I gave up deodorant too).
Now, from time to time I will use soap and shampoo. Soap and shampoo and conditioner are pleasurable, no doubt. Also deodorant , depending on the heat and level of activity.
If if had hair, long hair, I’d rinse it through, thoroughly, as I do with my beard. My beard looks and behaves very well, even if I use product, which substantially rinses out in the shower. It is more manageable and there’s less breakage.
So, what do I know, everyone is different. Just felt like adding my 2 cents worth.
    Love your videos, man.

I'm 40 with Germanic ethnicity. My hair is about the same length and thickness as in the video, and gets as oily as yours also. I work in a steel foundry in NW Pennsylvania. In the summer I tie my hair in a low man bun with a ball cap on backwards and in colder weather I wear a beanie as most of my work environment is not climate controlled. I live alone and really only meet up with friends and family over the weekends, so I just wash and condition after my last workday. I shower everyday, but I wear a shower cap. I tie my hair up in a very high man bun while I sleep and change my pillowcase every 3-4 days. Sleeping caps don't stay on my head. November is 2 years from my last short short haircut. Awkward stage was worth the hassle.

My face and scalp, literally, begin to show oil shine within a couple hours of getting out of the shower. I tried (for as long as 2 months) to only wash my hair a couple times a week when it was super long and it NEVER got better. (Despite the rumors of oil production waning with time when you stop washing daily, or every other day.)
So, yeah... For me, I must wash my hair daily. Even now that I've shaved my head, I still have to wash my scalp daily if I don't want 1/16" thick of oil laying on it by the next morning.

The thing I notice (maybe it's just me lol) is that my hair and nails are growing way faster if I go to the pool or beach more often (live in Florida). Also, when I was growing my hair long, I would wash it with water daily, or as you would say rinse, and use shampoo once maybe twice a week ( I was way more active than, so I had to shampoo it twice, otherwise probably wouldn't) cus I believe that there is no way that pure H2O can do anything to your hair but benefit it.

Normally i wash my hair once a week and it's fine.Longest i've gone without washing it is a month.I have short hair so not really an issue and i am at home most of the time as a carer for elderly relatives not doing much that is physically demanding or causing me to sweat much. When i had long hair the longest i went without washing it was about 2 weeks. Most of my friends wash their hair daily and their age range is mid 30's to mid 50's.They are nearly all balding or have thinning hair.I never use any products other than shampoo once a week and i still have thick hair at 49.It is starting to grey now quite quickly though.
