    Quick update: Shortly after watching this video, I gave up using shampoo. That was about 16 months ago or so. I have to report that my scalp and hair are better than ever. No dry scalp/dandruff. No "greasy" hair. Everything talked about in this video is true it would seem. Most importantly, it seems I have less grey hair than before (for context, I am in my mid 50s). So I can say without hesitation that shampoo is a farce. Just wash your hair regularly as usual, but just use water. I saved enough that I recently bought a new car. (Just kidding. That's what I do tell people though, just to see the look on their faces. (But I did but a new car 😂)

      Bro this guy forgot to mention that it only applies to short hair 💀 and even short hair gets greasy…..you literally need shampoo. Shampoo is supposed to clean your oily scalp, and it trips it of the oils which is good, but if you apply it anywhere other than your scalp THEN stripping it of it’s oils is bad. That’s why there’s conditioner.
      And having this kind of hair he has while not using shampoo is pretty much impossible. His hair would be greasy and would look wet if he actually didn’t wash it with shampoo for this long, quite literally. You can’t just wash off your oils in water because oil doesn’t mix with water…..and that’s exactly why shampoo comes in and helps attach the oil to the shampoo.

    • @aimanjaouhara957

      @@ScizzoringGirlz Suuuuuure buddy, so he's lying about not using shampoo even though people would think he was dirty. It surely seems like a beneficial lie to him right? The only reason you think this is because of all the ads you've been seeing since you were born. Also oil on your hair isn't bad, it's there for a fucking reason, you shouldn't want to take the oil out of your hair but the dirt and bacteria. As long as you keep using shampoo your hair will always feel greasy after a few days of not showering. Now not everybody has the same hair type but I can assure you that most commercial shampoos are not good for your hair. It's in their best interest to make you think that you NEED shampoo, when really most people don't.

    • @ScizzoringGirlz
      @ScizzoringGirlz 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@aimanjaouhara957 LMFAOO you’re really not even a chemist to be saying this. You probably believe In conspiracy theories too 💀 if you wanna walk around unwashed and greasy then go ahead! I’m just saying that it won’t feel good. The science of shampoo is that it removes oil, Water can’t remove oil because it doesn’t mix with it, So that’s why shampoo is made to be able to mix water and oil so it can strip the oils. And no….oils aren’t there for a reason, You have to wash them out. The only oils you shouldn’t be washing off are the oils on your mids & ends, That’s where conditioner goes. This guy showed him applying conditioner to the scalp which will OF COURSE make your hair greasy 💀 it’s not supposed to go on your scalp. Not sure if you know this as well but the more product you apply AFTER showering, The faster your hair will get greasy…..just the way it works, You can’t avoid it. Shampoo would never make your hair greasy because it’s not staying in your hair like conditioner.
      If your hair gets oily fast then it’s a sign that it lacks moisture….using a good moisturizing shampoo could very much help fix that problem, Or deep hair oiling before washing your hair also works. I know it because it helped me.
      You said that most commercial shampoo’s are bad but most really aren’t….can you enlighten me on what you think makes a shampoo bad?

      @@ScizzoringGirlz can't speak for everyone but I'm on no-shampoo, no conditioner, no hair product no nothing streak for like 2-3 months now atleast and people cannot tell a difference, even if I actively ask them if my hair looks any different now, or weird, nothing. I just wash the hair under shower with normal water everyday, not even hot water, just cold water. It doesn't smell bad, it doesn't get greasy, it never felt itchy or got dandruff, not even during winters.
      And oil can definitely be washed away atleast to some extent with water, as evident from my experience. And you can just apply some oil to your hands for experiment, and try to rinse it off under running water, it WILL wash away most of the oil.
      And I look at my scalp under good lighting in front of the mirror everyday for reasons, and I don't notice any dirt, or gross looking stuff on my scalp.
      (Also of you suddenly try this no-shampoo challenge I've heard you will get greasy hair for a couple weeks initially because your body expects you to shampoo it again out of habit and thinks it needs to pour excess oils on your scalp to compensate for your shampooing.

    • @aimanjaouhara957
      @aimanjaouhara957 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +13

      @@ScizzoringGirlz Why do I have to be a chemist to be talking about this? No I don't believe in consipiracy theories. Oil is supposed to be there because your body produces it for a reason, like most things the body produces. Like why do you imagine hair grows on your groin? Why does hair grow in the first place you reckon? Why do we have fingernails? Why does your mouth produce saliva? From where do you get your information about shampoo? Also why do you have to get rid of oil from your hair? Shouldn't you just get rid of whatever is dirty, oil isn't inherently dirty. Have you ever tried not using shampoo for a while? Try it yourself, but if you think people will judge you because of it, that's a problem I can't help you with. From my personal experience right now my hair feels great, it's not too oily, it doesn't smell bad. Give me a reason to why I should go back to using shampoo regularly? If you can give good reasons, I can definetely change my mind, but it has to also explain why not shampooing isn't making my hair greasy and itchy and all that bad stuff.

    I had a friend who had horrible acne. She would go on medications and a shit load of skin treatments, as a result, none of that had delivered her any good service. Listening to the billion dollar lies about certain serums, toners, cleansers, sunscreens, facial masks, etc. that supposedly minimizes her breakouts, she grew tired of the whole merry-go-around process of treating her acne. She gave up entirely and stopped her medications and skin regimen. Within a few months of only washing her face with water, her acne miraculously went away. Her skin has never looked better! Thanks for sharing your story. I have recently stopped washing my hair as much because I noticed some hair loss and itching. It's interesting to say that washing it less or not at all has reduced the itching significantly. I know there were times when I washed my hair everyday that I developed dandruff. So there is definitely some science involved in the experiment. Washing your hair and skin too much is definitely not good. On the issue of hand washing... You strip your skin of natural oils and they become dry and itchy. You are definitely on to something and there is definitely a lot of psychological issues involved in the marketing of many products. Again, thanks for your honesty and sharing your experiences.

No, you just did your thing and made it clear in the middle of the whole video: 9:50 (This is rewritten out ouf my head)-> "I dont want you to not shampoo but I want to mention the point that we're all socialy manipulative"

    I support you in your journey here, and yes, it's definitely your own. I cam here as part of trying to learn more about the chemicals in shampoos and conditioners, because I want to make my own for myself. Sadly, my hair gets so greasy and never even-out or whatever, and the itching/flaking gets worse, not better, when I don't shampoo it, that I do need something for myself at least once in awhile. I am really POed about all the harmful chemicals in shampoos (and every other product on this planet, but whichever), and I want something that's chemical free to use to wash my hair, probably about once every week or so. I'm glad you don't have to shampoo your hair! I wish I could say the same for mine. Anyway, I'm just here to learn, so thank you for sharing!

After a while I forgot to do it for over two months and I was totally fine while having an consistent look. Now I only wash them with water, except when I get a haircut every six weeks. Some of my friends also started shampooing their hair less and are happier with how they feel and look!

    I am just joining to share my experience. I was having a lot of problems with greasy hair and just like you stop shampooing and didn't work and I started searching for natural remedies. This is my today's recipe: I put some oil in my hair - whatever works for me at that time(olive; coconut; black cumin...) and then I sit with it. I can stay with it for day or two (the hair kinda consumes it). And when I decide to wash I first put shampoo(but I buy natural one made from natural soap) or just natural soap. It is important first to put the soap and then the water. And then I wash. Usually my hair is shiny and nice after it and I soap it once a week or once every two weeks. Sometimes I get it greasier but it's when I put too much oil or too much on the scalp. When this happens I leave it if I will stay home or put powder ( but I use tapioka flour) and tie it. Basically I have a strategy of washing it once a week. Less is more.

      This video is unfortunately not very informative when it comes to hair care and the science behind it. He is spreading a lot of misinformation. It's like a misinterpreted tip of the iceberg of how hair care should function.

    The thing is, whenever I tell someone I dont shampoo, they almost always have a pretty strong reaction, sometimes to the point of disgust, but if I don't bring it up, I have never heard anyone mention to me that my hair is greasy, dirty, smelly, etc., which really tipped me off to realizing that at least for me, shampoo was really more of a cultural thing than someting I actually needed (I've had a really similar relationship with deoderant, but people tend to find that even more gross so I usually don't bring it up).

    So I'm a hairdresser - in you are kinda right, but not 100%. Shampoos with Sodium Lauryl sulphates (SLS) will strip out the natural oils, as it is basically a detergent. Yes it causes your scalp to become dry .... because it has stripped your natural oils. Your sebaceous glands become dehydrated and to deal with it - produce more oils. So that creates a cycle which isn't healthy for your scalp or hair. I wash my hair every 7 to 10 days ... I use a shampoo, but without the SLS stuff, and recommend it to my customers because it also will not strip out the colour they have paid me to apply ! Conditioners - well a shampoo will open up the outer layer of your hair, and a conditioner closes it back, but with longer hair, it also helps add oils that may be missing, due to the hairs age - and what we do to it. Not all contain silicones - and they are bad for it. The 3 companies you mentioned - yup they have marketed to people and produced an empire from it ... which is based on things that are not fundamentally always the case for people.
    Toothpaste - you don't NEED it, to get your teeth clean, you just need to apply friction - to remove any build up matter - that can be with a toothbrush or those dental sticks etc Toothpaste just makes the experience taste nicer. (I also have 12 years of medical experience, which included some dentistry)
    Good video - I enjoyed it. I personally can't get away without using a shampoo due to a form of dandruff (there are many types), but I do encourage all my customers to wash their hair less often ! It hurts my shampoo sales, but over all - makes for better healthier hair, with colours that last longer (which also costs me money lol)

      important to note that being skeptical in an intelligent way does not mean "reject everything from any source you don't like, without investigating it for yourself" as that would leave a person completely at the mercy of their own current prejudices and unable to change their view of the world. If you assume everything is a lie and stay satisfied with that easy assumption, you're going to be just as lost as someone who assumes everything is true.

      My Mom has been a Hairdresser for over 4 decades. Commercials have never played a part in my or much of my family’s feelings regarding shampoo. My Mom’s education and work on hundreds of clients, however, is absolutely something to which I take heed; in my own life, by day 4-5, my fine, oily hair is so limp, so uncomfortable, so lacking even the ability to look cute in a ponytail or a bun, and not to mention it’s retained various smells if I’ve been outside, it is a absolutely crucial that I wash my hair.
      My hair looks best on day 1 and with a dry shampoo, it’s okay on day 2. I have friends with thick, coarse, wavy or curly hair, and my
      fiancé has hair like that- their hair looks great for up to 5 days, with it looking best on the latter days.
      I just know that I washed my hair Friday night, and it had been 3 days/72 hours. My hair looked like shit. It felt like shit. I could’nt even sleep comfy because it felt so icky. I love my hair slightly stripped of its natural oils and hot curled after a blow out. It’s the only time and only way my fine, silky, straight hair looks and feels bouncy, shiny, cute, and fluffy. I cannot imagine never shampooing again. I’d rather shave my head bald!

    It's definitely over a year for me without touching shampoo. Also, over 6 months without using soap for showering or for my face, only to wash my hands, but I scrub semi-vigorously with warm water and use the sauna at the gym regularly to wash off any excess grease. And I stopped using deodorant 10 years ago. I had chronic dandruff before quitting shampoo; it got worse when I stopped shampooing and got worse for maybe 3 months. After that, though, the dandruff was gone; not 100%, but my scalp is much better now. My scalp also regularly felt itchy when I used shampoo, and the itchiness got worse when I stopped for a couple of months or so, but now it's gone. My scalp rarely feels itchy. My face's skin has already improved.
    We are supposed to clean ourselves and regularly remove excess grease, of course. However, today I firmly believe that we are not supposed to remove almost all the natural fats that the body produces on the skin daily with soap and then re-moisturize with chemical creams! Our natural biochemicals are much healthier. Everything God created is better than anything humans hope to produce.
    Every year, I see more and more evidence, and I LIVE some of the evidence that corporations have lied to us since the beginning of the corporate entity and the Industrial Revolution. And they still are lying for profit. I hope humanity collectively wakes up soon.

      @@PeteQuad I am living proof that what you say is incorrect or inaccurate at best. I have not let soap touch my body for perhaps two years now, or over a year for sure. Nothing got worse in my health, skin, or looks. On the contrary, many health aspects have improved. Again, I emphasize that I shower with warm water regularly and scrub weekly, especially during the sauna. And no, I do not remotely smell bad; this is something I can never tolerate or allow myself to be known for. Family would tell me too if I did.
      I am living the proof that soap is a scam, except for washing my palms with it regularly throughout the day, especially when eating or handling food.

    • @PeteQuad
      @PeteQuad 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ghareeb.muhajir just because you are lucky enough to have not gotten any fungal or bacterial growth yet does not mean you are proof. Clearly you understand that soap does something otherwise you would not use it on your hands. Certainly thoroughly washing with water regularly does help if you don't have soap, and I suppose if you watch your body closely and only use it if necessary you can get away with it.

    • @ghareeb.muhajir
      @ghareeb.muhajir 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PeteQuad I just meant I'm a "modern" living proof that your assumptions are misguided. Humans universally haven't used soap for 99.6% of their history. How do you think they kept doing this for 99.6% of their history if a significant portion of them got fungal or bacterial or other BS growth because they haven't used soap? Just ... ponder that for a while. If there was a need for the chemicals in soap and humans could not survive without applying those chemicals, our ancestors would've found a way to put together equivalent chemicals from plants and nature. Again, think carefully about this, instead of assuming like the average arrogant modern man that we have a monopoly on intelligence and knowledge. You would be doing our ancestors a gross discredit by assuming that they were too ignorant or stupid to collectively and through their generations figure out that some chemicals are needed on the skin to keep it clean and infection-free.
      Secondly, I'm not alone in the world. There are hundreds of thousands of humans across the world who don't use soap on their bodies, including people who live in urban settings and do office work like myself. We can't all be "lucky" as you claim to justify your self-imposed dogmas, which are essentially the result of corporate brainwashing, brainwashing that goes as deep as to be put in academic curricula with biased studies and so on.
      Thirdly, I use soap on the [palms] of my hands, as I mentioned, because the skin of the palms does not secrete the same natural oils that other parts of the body's skin secrete. All skin other than palms and the bottom of the feet secrets oils that fight infections and can even resist some insects. But too much of a good thing can be bad; you probably know this principle already. This is why we need to bathe and clean ourselves, ideally with warm water, regularly, because the accumulation of these oils can be bad, and for reasons other than smell or hygiene. This is also why soap is also bad, because it removes [all] or almost all of these oils. Whereas warm water will remove just the right amount of those oils from the skin while keeping the rest. The rest of the oils that remain on the skin after a soap-free warm shower or bathe is just the right amount to fight infections and resist bacteria and some insects.
      Modern atheistic science will have you believe that we have no Intelligent Designer who created us, designed our blueprint of a DNA and our bodies. Modern atheistic science will also have you believe that only modern scientists have the answers to bacteria and infections. But the truth that humanity knew before the dawn of atheistic science is that God created us with wisdom. He did not make us "perfect," but He created us perfectly. He created us with a balance of strengths and weaknesses, strengths to survive, and weaknesses to humble us and remind us that we need Him and His help. He also wisely created us with dependencies, like how we depend on the oils of our skin to protect us from infections and some insects, but modern atheistic scientists and corporate executives want us dependent on [their] products instead. We're also dependent on regular showers and exercise or movement and exerting effort to stay healthy, and so on. It's all connected with omniscient wisdom.

She brushed her long natural hair 100 strokes every day at least and she didn’t even develop grey hairs until her 70’s. I have more grey hair now than she had ever. I’ve been in the last few years going back to the way she taught me about how to care for my body and guess what? My hair is healthier and growing now much faster and healthier than when I washed every two days. I bought two bottles of shampoo and conditioner (professional product) in 2019 and I still haven’t finished the first bottle set!
