Really nice as always. I just finished my build here about a week ago. I connected the middle dock (with the diner) to the southern dock and built around the sunken boat. Had the same issue where I couldn't put the vendor inside the diner, but I was able to rug glitch a nuka cola machine in there to cover up the brain fungus. I just put the bar counter in front of the diner and built 2 stories high with the greenhouse walls (4 halfwalls so that there wasn't any warehouse bits at the bottom) and made that the restaurant. I still had 2 floor tiles width of room left near the stairs down to the dock so I built some rooms with the barn section and merged the barn roof and walls with the glass sections. Extended that over across the deck I built around the boat, and that's outdoor seating for the diner. All said and done it's a fairly neat looking half-barn half-glass structure which I dubbed: "The Busted Barge Hotel and Diner"
I like the half-tall glass walls but glass is a resource I sort of neglected and now I'm having trouble rebuilding my supplies, since it uses the same amount of glass as teh full height glass with corrugated base, I tend to use that, but would prefer floor to ceiling glass. thanks for checking out the video.
This is hands down my fav settlement location. Its big enough to allow some growth but nuzzled inside of a cliff and water to let you feel nice and safe. I used the preexisting buildings as my main structures and just built right on the piers. It’s my most well stocked and staffed area in the game. I always find myself stopping off there between missions to dump junk and rest up
Wow that's an impressive build, I know you like to go without mods which makes it that much more impressive, if you ever decide to come over to the dark side you should try your hand at designing settlements for Sim Settlements 2, I'm sure with your creativeness you could come up with some great settlement layouts.
I just had the craziest thing happen. I was building up some more at Egret Tours and the dog I bought from the super mutant in far harbor just attacked and killed Phyllis Daily right out of the blue. The other settlers had time to point their guns at her, but it killed her faster than they could pull their guns. It was crazy.
You're so nice to your settlers. In my settlements I tend to either have my 'longhouse' build - a 3x5 two floor building with stores and a bar on the bottom floor and 20 sleeping bags on the top (two per outer square) or, even worse, my dog kennel build - two 5 piece foundations a decent distance from each other with hallway ends attached to the long edges. Two sleeping bags per doghouse. I've been slowly remodelling while watching youtube build videos so my settlers have to be wondering what's gotten into their "Benevolent Leader". (Though to be fair more often than not my efforts end up being 'longhouse, but bigger!' so far.)
a lot of my older builds were similar. I still tended to opt for concrete, but they nearly allways were open berthings, with all beds thrown into a single chamber.
Nice idea putting the power and the water purifier inside the boathouse - it beats my idea of making it a bunkhouse. I would go ahead and put all manner of crafting stations in there too. Thanks for the inspiration - I may have to rework my versions!
THIS again is beyond pure Awesomeness! I love your builds! I wish I could download them into my Fallout 4 on my Xbox Series X! I can't wait for the next one! Great vid, keep up the great work!
Some very good ideas. Though concrete looks so 'spartan' it is the cleanest material the vanilla set has for building. It's a real shame most building materials look as if a couple of kids were slapping up a 'fort' in their backyards. Nice settlement. 😃
Before I found the Egret overhaul mod I never really cared to build here as the boarded up buildings always put me off, but the old western styled building fronts you have going I think are great. Good stuff with the warehouse use as well for power/gym rec.
you can actually scrap those two picture frames in the house, there's a single pixel (on the wall) at the bottom right of the frame that you can click on in workshop mode (at least it worked for me today while I was building there, maybe I got lucky :P ).
_Honestly, having to build _*_around_*_ a Settlement makes the process way more interesting and fun. Less of "Ill build a Medical House there" and more "I can turn this into a Medical House with this room being this and that room being that."_
Interesting fact with Egret. There are two enemy spawn points in the parking lot area and one of them is attached to the Lone Survivors spawn point. So if you make a welcome mat and place it down enemies will spawn there.
Ugh the settler pathing issues are so annoying. I like to build settlements with lots of stairs and places to go, but so often you find them standing around, walking into the walls, or unable to actually get through a door without just warping through it after walking into it for a while. Kind of frustrating.
When I get to the Marina again I am going to try out what you did... I had almost 400 hours into FO4, and then one day I loaded the wrong save...and in my frustration deleted all my saves not realizing I was still on an old save 🤢 So I started over for the third time. The second was the Quantum Stag quest glitched and I had to go all the way back to a save with only 5 hours for it to work. Now I am doing Nuka World and when I get ready I will join the Minute Men and follow your design. I like your builds 👊😊
I would love to know how you got the flooring to snap in the upper area of the warehouse. I have tried every type and nothing ever goes green. I have seen other vids where they seem to be able to get it to work so is there a glitch or mod I need to do this?
no but you do have to resort to some of the trashier looking flooring from the barn/warehouse sets that are less collision sensitive since there's that little section around the collapsed section that rises up and causes problems. you can use glitches but a few creative compromises helped me avoid that here.
What did you do to the owner of the site? Second do you use the mod "scrap all"? How did you get the concrete warehouse floors in, rug glitching does not work, in June of 2023. Love the green house!
Been playing this game since launch but I don’t watch many settlement build videos because most are loaded with emersion breaking, ugly mods. So I was today years old when I accidentally found out you can build on the freeway above Finch Farm and Grey Garden. My mind was blown. Do you have a Finch Farm video that showcases the freeway build?🤣😂
no mod, it's all basic clothing and combat armor and anyone can change their settlers clothing. I think the combat armor is using paint jobs from the creation club but otherwise it's all stuff that can be looted from raiders and gunners.
The walls aren’t there to keep enemies out. They’re there to keep the Sole Survivor in
True

Another fun build guide, much appreciated

Im more of a barrack type
One massive multi level with many beds
One area for eating
One area for trade
One area for farming

Nice! Very cool! Must be dificulty... But worked! I love it! Congrats!

I think I will try to incorporate some of this in my build.
I feel like the housing accommodations need windows or some way to get natural light

Couple of the Slocum joe floor pieces are amazing for clip plugging such as that floor and the roof

"Stupid provisioner" spawn point on that shed's roof! Tehe! Yes, acquainted with that one.
Never stop using concrete it's one of if not the best build sets of all time!!!

Restaurant was spelled incorrectly.
I love watching your stuff and have started modeling much of my stuff like yours only difference is I use mods for the pre war buildings
Awesome build I just started my build here today and I hope my no mod build is half as good as yours

...and then you can thow a rug or floor mat over the unsightly mesh. @Theegreygaming

I usually let her stay. I don't use mods, and stay away from rug glitches or any of the more advanced build techniques.
@@Theegreygaming Thank you.
Bright green power armour. Not even slightly intimidating lol

I do not, they're on my long-term to-do list, but that's going to be a ways off I think.
The armor and clothing of settlers - what mod is this?
no mod, it's all basic clothing and combat armor and anyone can change their settlers clothing. I think the combat armor is using paint jobs from the creation club but otherwise it's all stuff that can be looted from raiders and gunners.
The pauses are kinda awkward. Couldn't Grey just speak as he walks? Overall great build and video though.
Ive got over 550hrs on FO4. I've never known of this settlement.
This would lag so hard on console
Cool!
Can you make a Nuka World Raider build
Get some mods to fix the enemy spawns, clear out that unscrappable crap and this would be 100/10.
It isn’t bad at all, but everything, and I mean everything, feels so… squared. It’s like an AI designed it instead of a human 😕
You spelt restaurant incorrectly lol.
Education isn't the best in the Wasteland.
