Hi David, really good suggestions, and most of that info can be transferred to other brands too, sure the menu system is a bit different but much of it still applies. AF illumination - that's a good one, on my Nikon's I generally left that on - I used to do a lot of theatre photography and it could help get any form of focus when it was really dark, BUT I really had to remember to turn it off if I was shooting an actual performance, it wasn't really a problem for the performers so using it in the rehearsals was fine, but it was a complete no no if there was an audience in. I really should look to see if there's a customizable function button on the Lumix - you know how it is, you get the camera, you dive in and use it and never touch many of the features!!!!!

Yeah, on most camera I use, as long as I know how to do iso, SS and aperture I'm good, but having access to a quick menu certainly speeds things up when you're shooting run and gun style. Thanks for watching, mate 🖖

@@DavidFlowerOfficial The thing that catches me out on the Lumix occasionally is the touch screen (did I ever mention how much I hate touch screens!!!!) - there's some settings that you can knock while you're walking round, and all of a sudden you've got some crazy while balance or something like that.

@@GrumpyTim My wife's canon 200d has a touch screen and my big nose often screws the settings so I turn it off 😂

Hello could you tell me how to turn on soft skin effect please ?

Honestly I didn’t even know it existed. I sold the camera at the beginning of this year when I switched to Olympus and Lumix cameras, so I can’t even check to find out how, sorry.
