Kool breeze my friend. Someone actually showed close up shots of what the finished setup and kit looks like. Thanks. Best truthful vid of a longtail i ve seen. Gods Bless !!!
Great video! I’m a little late on it but I have a few question maybe you can answer. 1- what’s the size of the boat? 12’? 2-how much was the kit and where can I get it? 3- how was the instal? 4-how much does the boat weigh without the engine? 5-does the engine overheat? And how easy is it to maneuver? Thanks!
1. Boat 12' 2. I think it was around $500 3. Install very easy 4. Not sure. It's a 1966 sears Lol not much info on it. 5. No. It's air cooled 6. Once you get the scag bent to the right position it maneuvers flawlessly 😎👍
Sir have you tried it with 2 people on the boat, in your vid looks smooth the engine without issues, but with more weight in the bout how does it handle ?
It handles good with two people, I've had 350 lbs of body weight in it, but it only tops out about 12-13mph fully loaded if I remember correctly. As far as the engine goes though everything still runs smooth with two people just slower.
Hey thanks! It was the 6-1/4". Haven't tried the 6-1/2 yet. Keep in mind this boat is only a 1232 and this was an unloaded test. My loaded test I got 15mph and my loaded test with me and my wife in the boat was only 12mph. 😎👍
@@danielrichardsfishing8838 You will get higher speeds with the 6.5" when you have less of a load. When you have a full load, you will probably have to drop down to the 6.25" prop. You shouldn't get less speed with the 6.5" compared to the 6.25". You'll know when the 6.5" is too big when it is hard to handle and/or you notice that your engine isn't reaching its normally high rpm range and is "bogging down"
Yeah man basically ha ha! Its actually a gocart engine soon to be a gocart engine on steroids Lol!. The fact that the longtails are surface piercing props with a scag on it allows it to go through just about anything. Even hop over logs without a problem cause the scag just jumps it so the prop never hits. The shaft is a Thai long tail originally designed in Thailand. My brand is call the Swamp Runner but there are other companies out there.
I'm not sure about the mileage but when i go out on the river I sometimes may have to top it off if I'm out there long. Its basically a gokart engine so I would assume what ever the MPG of a gokart is would be about the same. I can tell you this, I definitely don't regret going this route. Super easy to work on compared to an outboard motor and wont hurt your wallet. Mine still starts on the 1st pull every time so I would definitely recommend a build like this. 👊😁
I will check it out. What brand engine is it? I dont think the small S.R.Kit will fit on a 10 horse power though. May have to have the large S.R. Kit for 8hp and up.
@@danielrichardsfishing8838 it will fit the kit you got. Its just a beefed up 6.5hp. Based on the same block. You will have a higher rpm range and should do really good. www.gopowersports.com/212cc-tillotson-hemi-engine/
@@danielrichardsfishing8838 Dude, the 212cc predator motor is very easy to get 8-10 hp out of. Easiest way is to remove governor, header, intake, $25.00 pz22mm carb, and youre at least 8hp or more. You can find a ton of info on here. Ive built several high performance industrial motors. With a little bit of wrenching skills, you could perform these simple mods in a couple hours, and cost under 100 bucks. Heck just removing the governor, youd probably see closer to 20mph. Keep stock valve springs in, and your valves will float so you wont rev high enough to need a billet flywheel or rod.
You're talking about the Tillerson 212 yeah that thing is nice 10 horsepower out of the factory and you can get it with electric start which is crucial on my opinion
Cool! Thanks for getting back to me so quick! I’m trying to decide if this would be big enough for a 14’ flat bottom for me and my son to get on the River. I might should go to the next size up I think!
@@whyattc yeah I have a casting deck and bow mount trolling motor on this boat but took it off for this test run as it weighs a lot. If I remember correctly with the casting deck and trolling motor on I would get 14-15mph by myself and only 12 with all that plus my wife and I in the boat. There is an 8HP Predator and a 13HP Predator that would probably be better for your boat but will require the "medium Swamp Runner kit". Hope this helps brother. And thanks for stopping by 👊😁
Wow! That’s pretty awesome! I think I’m gonna start with the small kit so I can hopefully move it all by hand. These things are so cool! With the predator 6.5 there’s so much you can do with them to make them perform better and if you were to blow it up your only out $100.
@@whyattc Yes that is definitely a plus with the 6.5hp. So many mods for that particular engine that you can't get for the bigger ones. You could hop it up to a 10hp if you wanted to but make sure you get the billet fly wheel and upgrade all the internals if you want it to last long term 👊😁👍.

What size prop are you running?
Is that at 3600rpm stock wide open, or did you remove governor? 🤔
Yeah it is just stock 👍
I Like That Kit But it really needs a Cav Plate IMHO
Yeah i wonder if that would help. If you add one to yours let me know what you think about it and how it handles. 👊😎
@@danielrichardsfishing8838 it's just going to cause more drag and slow you down
With this type of 2 blade prop you want to be surface piercing.
Some have the plates but I f you trim it right you won’t need it.
How long is the boat?
12'
Was out there Sunday at max speeds of 3 mph on my kayak.

Thank you so much for your support! Got alot more videos in store so stay tuned! 😎👍
Should have got the hemi version of that engine. Zip tie the governor spring and you'll get an extra HP.

All types of upgrade kits. Can make this motor fly.
And of something happens to the block it can be replaced next to nothing vs an outboard motor 😁👍

Little late, but ive got a modified 79cc predator bike running 7k rpm. If im cruising id say i get 80-100mpg, so id so 80+ for near stock 212

Is the governor removed? Seems decently fast
Thanks! No I never removed the governor its just a small boat with no weight in it.
Add a stage one kit on the motor and you will feel a really big differece or get a torque converter
It's a direct drive can't put a torque converter on it lol
Do you have the 85" or 100"shaft
I have the 85" shaft 😎👍
