I was just rewatching some of your vids yesterday and was thinking "man I wish he would post something soon." The vids never disappoint, keep it up brother!
Thank you for making this video I used it as a reference when building my 18 52 John boat. This is the best video for what I was doing on TH-cam. Much appreciated it saved me money and time and headache.
I live vicariously through this channel. I am separated from my boat by the Atlantic Ocean at the moment, but should be home in time for duck season back in Virginia and look to this channel for ideas. You certainly provide many examples.
Glad i can provide some vicarious living my man! Wait till I put a harley motor on one of these things and go full send.... thats vicarious times a million!
You never disappoint with the videos! 3 in depth mud motor reviews and now 3 different hp test runs. I know this is expensive to do and I appreciate it!
I average around 20mph in my 16x51 polar kraft. 22hp predator bone stock on a mudskipper twister 8.5 inch prop. With a heavy load it drops to around 15mph. Great video man keep it up 👍👍
I'm working on my 1982 Lowe 1436 right now. V2 had wood framing and 3/4 decking, switching to aluminum framing and 1/2 plywood decking. Installing a livewell, a 7 rod locker and going with lithium batteries. Overall I think I'm going to lose about 170lbs. It was fine before but I'm trying to break the 30 mph barrier. It has been a test of abilities and patience. I feel like I'm on the downhill slide now. 70% of the framing is done. Been working on it in the evenings for about 2 weeks. The first week was a LOT of head scratching. I'm running a 20hp tohatsu 4 stroke.
I was surprised at the speed you got with the 13hp. I had a 1448 with a 13hp sps Longtail and never got over 15 with an empty boat. I then put that motor on a surface drive kit and could never get the prop right. It actually idled faster than it went at full throttle. As always great video.
That boat is crazy heavy for a 13hp, but I think with some mods it could get some more speed, but dang if it hasn't been the most reliable motor I have ever owned.
Thanks for the information! I desperately wanted a bigger motor on my boat but it’s 12 ft length prevents it. The added weight would be counterproductive in my case. I ended up building my 212 motor out to get the extra horsepower. Hopefully I’ll be able get a 16 ft in the near future. I appreciate you taking us along on your boat building adventures.
I liked the hater corner part of the video the best! Haha keep up the great work. Also, I saw a video recently where you did a Jon boat pint job with Anthony Jones. It’s great that you both work together sometimes. Your both very talented.
I ran the same setup on my 1654 grizzly and got 27mph alone and 22mph with 3 guys and gear. Stock engine with the governor removed and gutted exhaust, was turning a 9in at 4200 rpms. My boat ran great with that set up. Sold it to buy an 1854 gatortail
@@SendItJonBoats Haven't picked it up yet, placed a custom order for a built Gator tail 1854 extreme with the 40gtr. But there is a 6-9month wait time or new boats now. Hoping to have it by august
Nice video. I got a 1436 flatbottom with a stage 1 420cc and get 20 to 21 mph with me my cooler, tackle, lightweight floor, lightbar, deep cycle battery and a 5 gallon gas tank and my girlfriend. Looking by the end of the season to put a briggs 18hp vtwin on my medium kit and be able to get near 30mph. You should do a boat build with a high rpm motor that would be an awesome mini series
Really enjoy your channel, love those long tails I put a longtail on a surfboard in my last video was pretty quick! Looking forward to see more of your projects!
Good video showing the versatility of the different size mudmotors. 79cc= why does it even exist lol 212cc= solo 10ft to 12ft builds 301cc= double the torque of 212cc and mid grade workhorse for 12 to 14ft builds Might be a rocket on a 10ft not yet tested. 420cc= general workhorse for most 12 to 16ft applications. 670cc= torque monster for anything that can support it from 12 to 14ft vhull to 14ft to 16ft flatbottoms. The best overall workhorse we have found so far is Duromax 18hp 440cc with back up pull starter/electric start #xp18hpe especially staged one. That engine gives you the best value for power and 3yr warranty as well. Best overall engine I can tell for the price and warranty at $429. We did similar speeds with the Duromax #xp18hpe as the 670cc on #2silver2bullet . Keep up the good work my man. SEND IT!!!!!
Love these videos. I am currently working on figuring out how to put a v twin motor on my boat. But my Vtwin is off of a motorcycle. Off of a vn900 custom Kawasaki motorcycle. On the bike it dyno at 51hp. It was a belt drive bike so I am working out the logistics of putting a long tail on that. My son said just build a small paddle wheel and run a belt to it since Im already being stupid lol

What kind of issues were you having with the 22hp to have you change the carb? Im currently troubleshooting some issues with mine as well and I’m thinking it has something to do with the carb
I was actually suprised you were able to get the 6.5 to push that 1648 so fast. I was expecting something along the lines of 5 to 6 mph. Btw, scooter who said .050 is metric didn't bother to check context or realize that we use freedom units here. Technically .050 can be either a metric or standard depending on CONTEXT and WHERE it's being used. You can have a .050 millimeter but I know of no metal supplier or parts manufacturer that sells primarily to the US that uses that small of a measurement in metric, besides that metric size is close to micron scale so either he is an idiot or hasn't a clue. Remember scooter, millimeter is a long word, but a shortttt distance.

Well.... we gotta find out. One day I will get some surface drives for testing.
What kind of issues were you having with the 22hp to have you change the carb? Im currently troubleshooting some issues with mine as well and I’m thinking it has something to do with the carb
you could start a second channel called "Send It Cosplay"
LMAO... I need to start selling pictures of my feet online to afford these boat projects lol.
Was this test done on a short or tall transom? I have a 1648 and can't get the speed you are getting. Thank you
16 inch transom, they work best on low or short transoms
I always recommend going with the most HP your boat can handle. 👍🏻🍺
Yeah I was guessing it was going to be like 5mph with that 6.5. I had to go way down in prop size to get it working but I made it work.
Was that Ryan? If so tell him he needs to be in the dad bod pose on the front 🤣
Yup, that was ol' fireant. I will let him know to pose next time.
Hell I’ll text him. Hell I’m the kid at the convenience store. I know that sumbitch but not sure ww
Where damn it.
I have a 1648 amumacraft with a 420 long tail and my max speed is 13mph. Idk why it’s so slow the boat has nothing done to it. Any thought.s?
Should try the new duramax 999cc engine with a little work it could replace the 670
Did not know they had a 999.... going to check that out!
ive got a 1670 put pods on her going run a 25hp go-devil longtail
Heck yeah, go devils are awesome too!
What exhaust do you have on the 420
Beaver Dam Mud Runners exhaust. I love it.
What's the speed with an older trawerling motor?
No clue.
More than enough.
My 212 with sps on a 1436 did 19-21 down hill.
Nice
G3 1544 , 15hp mercury, 25mph solo 22mph with my family of 5 (small kids)
Nice, that is a good speed on that hull! Keep sending it!!!!

I will be doing a few videos on the bowfishing build. I cant wait.
And I get about 21 with a 1542 crawfish go devil frame,,super short frame,,22hp predator
That 21 is give or take
Sounds about right. I like those 1542 boats. They are good hulls.
@@SendItJonBoats yea I put a deck in front for fishing,,the best for trail riding I think is a 1442 light hull with nothing more that a gas tank and myself and a 22 rifle,,mayb same motor
@@SendItJonBoats what did you use exactly for throttle lever,,I’m still using the cruise control lever, would like to try brake lever gas pedal,,lol
@@clayton203 The long tail kits come with a throttle lever. They may actually sell them separate.
I have a 1548 and im thinking of using a 420cc due to not wanting to spend $1000 dollars on the 22hp. do you think ill be able to get decent speeds?
Yeah a 420 would do pretty good. Proably get around 15-20 with it and some mods.
Directions unclear- Pepe wound up in light socket ⚡️
LMAO.... I dont thnk even directions will help with that.
I got the same year boat
Awesome. they sure don't build em' like they used to!
I need some surface drive info help!!!!
I am not a surface drive guru but I know enough to be dangerous. What ya got?
Would it be a bad idea to run one in a shallow rocky river where most guys use jet outboards
@@andrewhotzman5502 it will be fine, just keep an extra prop on board incase you break one on a rock
Scootin' with scooters
Gotta give them some love... and maybe a high five... in the face... with a chair.
You would be a lot of fun to hang out with
That's right! If the rivets work on a 747 they will work on any metal boat. For gosh sakes... we won WW2 with riveted airplanes.
Even i knew that was in inches. Call you Lamont
LMAO... everybody knew, except scooter apparently! LOL
Lmao, I wanted to take the 2 piece mudskipper longtail and only use 1 of the shaft pieces to make a short tail
Im just going to cut down one of my extra shafts
@@SendItJonBoats I'm hoping to test out my beavertail longtail this weekend
THATS WHERE MY AXE WENT! 🤦♂️
I still got it.
@@SendItJonBoats What about thr cold steel Gladius?😂
1648 weight issue don’t sweat it man I’ve seen six assholes in one of them boats fishing before yeah it was right at the waterline but it didn’t sink
LOL, I couldn't imagine being in my boat with 6 people. 3 is cramped enough!
Weight capacity as long water stays out you are ok.
I got a few leaky rivets to fix, but other than that it floats just fine.
Leaky rivets is fine means it's still floating. Like an oil leak in an airplane means it still got oil good to go
@@omieyouknowme LOL, that is a good way to put it.
Has anyone used an eBay Diesel motor
Not yet but I have had a lot of peopl asking about them. I will have to get one and try it out.
for the beard hater....your mom doesnt mind mine....
LMAO!!!! My Hero big dave in the house!!!!
I've been getting some great tips from your channel man, really helping with my own build and what I want to add. Problem is my wallet seems to have run away (or my wife is hiding it)
Boats stands for Bust Out Another Thousand.... My builds just keep getting more and more expensive and youtube just dont pay me enough to do all the things I want to do.
Send it
Yee Yee. Thanks for watching
Need some bowfishing videos!
Coming soon! I love bow fishing
If it ain't sinkin, then it's not overweight
Bow fishing. I’d like to try that shit
It is fun!
There's an awfull lot of beard real-estate going on around the mouth. Thinking it all traveled down south to Ass-tralia! 🤣😂
difference between a alpaca and a llama is about 150lbs alpacas are smaller
Thanks for setting me straight... I always wondered.
I thought my boat was heavy.
LOL, yeah she is a little heavy, but she is about to get heavier!
New subscriber here. Love the videos. However, it is now my life goal to be in the scooter section of a video, so here it goes.
Your mother was a hamster and you father smelt of elderberries.
We are going to have to work on your insult skills... but I think you have potential scooter! Keep working on it and thanks for the sub!
TH-cam was trying to make me dislike this video. Every time I tapped the thumbs up, the dislike button would get selected. Must have been what happened in 2020 as well……
LMAO.... that is exactly what happened in 2020!!!! You are my hero lol
