As more cars are electric, the auto body shops and auto repair shops are going to have to have to have staff qualified to prep the cars by removing batteries and moving cables etc out of the way. A completely new level of auto technician will be added and we will pay for it in higher costs. Informative and educational video as always. Thank you.

Nothing for you to worry about, EV owner’s are already paying this themselves in the form of increasing premiums for EV insurance.

Hi Paul, I left a message for you last time but never heard anything. What you need to do is remove the center bolts and keep all the side ones in but loosen them, remove your platform or lower it completely and then lower the car so it just touches the red platform then remove all the side bolts making sure the battery is supported. then jack the car up from the front and back to it highest point and place the axle stand at the front and back then slide the battery out.

I like the technical detail of this so far. However, I’m more turned off with the skills needed for a salvage EV repair.

Did the airbag ECU also have to be repaired?

How annoying that the safety system didn't fire the airbags in the front passenger seat, presumably because nobody was sitting in it, but the seatbelt tensioners are not similarly configured, resulting in 3 bets that tightened for no good reason whatsoever. Bad design, or deliberate corporate greed?

Not sure you have the weight of the battery correct, tesla model 3 battery is 440kg Vw id4 battery is 490kg no way the id3 battery is half of those.
