@@MarvinConnell The M2 Pro and Max does have a noticeable GPU performance leap but yeah HDMI 2.1 is way nicer than HDMI 2.0 and we can use a 4K or higher res monitor at a good refresh rate - which would be nice.
@@danseeli5194 I bought my first 2015 macbook refurbished over 7 years ago, and I'm still using it, typing this comment on it as we speak, all refurbished. Never had an issue with it whatsoever. Just ordered a 2023 refurbished today, finally upgrading, and got it for virtually the same price as the 2015 model. It was over 500 bucks off. Refurbished is the best for Apple products; many people I know have done the same and have not had any issues.
I just purchased the M1 Pro 16" 1TB for £2,255 here in the UK. Felt this was a better deal than the M2 Pro 16" 1TB at £2,899 (a £645 saving). Thanks for the comparison. Its made me feel like I'm not missing out on too much (well not for that price jump at least).

I think these machines are gonna age very well (repairability and upgradability aside) if the diferences on CPU tasks are anything to go buy. I'm really finding these comparison videos helpful. I am curious what the results would be if you compare a 512 SSD with 32gb ram, to a 1tb SSD with 16gb ram because of the swap speed.

This is a great video, as always man!! :) Just a tip though (as someone that produces music on Logic Pro) you set the buffer size to 1024, that actually causes less stress. The lower the buffer size the less lag the program has for things like vocals or instruments, basically live recording, which is more stress. This is the video we all needed! shocking results in Blender! 😮. I think the M2 pro and max will be totally worth it for some people who need it for 3D work. I would be supper happy with either the M1 or M2 but then again I'm currently running the same MB from 2012 I have had for the last 10 years! 😔
That huge 3D rendering gain was very impressive and unexpected. I guess blender does a very good job optimizing for every small improvement apple makes
I think it just really shows the great effort the Blender team with the full support of Apple is bearing fruit. A lot of the "inefficacies" of the M chip really has to do with the lack of support or full compatibility from software companies with the M chip, not weaknesses of the M chip itself. So kudos to Blender for being one of the leaders, early adopters of full M chip support. And it's only bound to get better!
While I concede that the M2 16" MacBook Pro is better in the different tests that you do are better, but as a general user I don't think that is enough better than then the M1. So I'll just stay with my M1 16" MacBook Pro
The new m2 pros look incredible, but I may see if I can get a secondhand m1 14" for a good deal, even with the slight performance bump to m2 pro, the m1 pro seems so compelling still. Thanks for the comparisons!
This so helpful. For me, these reviews are more of a guide than any customer service I can get anywhere. You guys are far and beyond my go-to channel. Keep up the great work
This is a good comparison. I imagine that quite a few people would decide to save money and get the M1 Pro version after seeing this. If I were interested in a 16”, that’s what I would do.
Originally I bought a 2023 15 inch MacBook Air for $1299 to replace my older Mac from 2018 but I noticed even though it was better it wasn’t really a significant difference so I returned it And Went back to Best Buy and i was considering getting a M2 Pro 16 inch they were selling it for $2299 on sale and I went on eBay and seen a M1 Pro 16 inch in the same configuration for $1399 in mint condition so that’s around $900 cheaper for basically the same thing that’s the one I bought i do not need all that power now and the screen is absolutely amazing feel like it’s worth the money.
Great video, thanks for the comparison between the MacBook m2 pro and m1 pro. It was exciting to see the differences in performance and features. I appreciate the detailed breakdown and thorough explanation of each device as well as the tips on where to get great deals! You rock
I just don’t know anymore if I should save more to get the m2 pro instead of buying an m1 pro with the money that I have now. All of this hidden features make me think about it too much 😅
When used in the MBP laptops, this M2 looks to be great on low power mode when compared to the M1. Please may you put these machines through a suite of tests under low power mode...
Thanks for all of these mac videos! As a student who is about to enter university, I really needed something liike this so that I could make the best decision on what computer to pick up and take with me for the upcoming years~
With the SSD issues how much storage do you need to to make sure you at least have the same speeds as the M1 Pro? Is 1 TB enough or do you need to get a 2 TB SSD?
This is definitely my OCD talking, but I really wish Apple made the entire space gray cable the same shade vs. retaining the white female connector (that attaches to the power brick). But I’m definitely loving the braided cables, and it’s great to see companies include OEM cables like this with more products. Perfect for pets that love to chew on our cords! Haha

MaX Tech thank you for your work. But I would like to ask you something. Why don't you talk about the difference of Display Response Times? On one of your videos you said that the ProMotion of MacBook Pro 2021 doesn't seem as fast as on your iPad. The reason of this is the terrible Display Response Times of the screens of these MacBooks Pro. They have only between 40 and 60 milliseconds. The MacBook Pro 2023 has a little better Display Response Time but it is still very slow. If you want to use the advantage of 120 Hz of the screen you have to have Display Response Times 1 millisecond or even less.

Upgraded my Intel MBP to the 16” base M2 max with 64GB, and really am enjoying the extra horsepower of the M2. To bad the M2 Pro didn’t have a higher memory option.
I’m really curious for how long the M1 Pro will be supported by Apple. The performance difference between M1 Pro and M2 Pro doesn’t justify a much longer support for the M2 imo
Great videos - clear picture - the new M2 is overclocked, uses more wattage, makes it more unstable, and uses more power - cancels out the gains. Quality looks impressive, M1 my choice just gotta find one now

This is the video we all needed! shocking results in Blender! 😮. I think the M2 pro and max will be totally worth it for some people who need it for 3D work. I would be supper happy with either the M1 or M2 but then again I'm currently running the same MB from 2012 I have had for the last 10 years! 😔
Running a 2016 MBP with touch bar here. I think the Apple silicon jump for people like us will be phenomenal.
I am watching this video on MBP mid 2012 13 inch. still rock solid lol
@@abhishekshah11 we just about got in there for the Retina glory! Their longevity is amazing, if only all other tech could last as long...
I would like to get one but, but maybe the M1 Pro would be a better option?
While I concede that the M2 16" MacBook Pro is better in the different tests that you do are better, but as a general user I don't think that is enough better than then the M1. So I'll just stay with my M1 16" MacBook Pro
The new m2 pros look incredible, but I may see if I can get a secondhand m1 14" for a good deal, even with the slight performance bump to m2 pro, the m1 pro seems so compelling still.
Thanks for the comparisons!
I went with a used 16" M1 Pro 32GB 2TB SSD for ~$2498 as a replacement for my 2017 MBP. Saving ~$1000 vs. same spec’ed new M2.
I think I’ll live.
As weird as it sounds, I feel that there was not alot of a Gpu upgrade for the low end
The main thing that helped is probably the extra cores.
Perfect testing from a perfect channel 😊
This so helpful. For me, these reviews are more of a guide than any customer service I can get anywhere. You guys are far and beyond my go-to channel. Keep up the great work
I have the M1 MacBook Pro 16. I know that the M2 MacBook Pro me be a little better, but not much! So I'm staying with my M1!
You guys put a lot of work on these reviews, I really appreciate it!!
No youtube channel provides this much detail. Good job
This channel is awesome, showing all the important benchmarks giving the best honest comparison possible. Thanks
This is a good comparison. I imagine that quite a few people would decide to save money and get the M1 Pro version after seeing this.
If I were interested in a 16”, that’s what I would do.
Thanks guys for that
I'm really thankful for the breadth and width of these comparison videos. I hope I can eventually try one out myself
I love all the videos covering M1 and M2 Mac products. Your comparisons and commentary is first class. Thank you
This channel is awesome! It’s not all about benchmarks, but more about real-world differences. Helped me out deciding between Macs. Thanks! 👍
Great video, thanks for the comparison between the MacBook m2 pro and m1 pro. It was exciting to see the differences in performance and features. I appreciate the detailed breakdown and thorough explanation of each device as well as the tips on where to get great deals! You rock
I currently have a 2019 MBP 16" and I use it for web design and photo editing, If I want to upgrade, which one should I buy?
Again its nice to know the tiny details because now i know its not just a spec bump
I just don’t know anymore if I should save more to get the m2 pro instead of buying an m1 pro with the money that I have now. All of this hidden features make me think about it too much 😅
Watching all of your review you are really consistent in reviewing all models of Macs! Great help for most individuals looking for an upgrade!
Love all the data and analysis that Maxtech delivers with new Mac releases. I wait for your reviews rather than watching all the rest.
When used in the MBP laptops, this M2 looks to be great on low power mode when compared to the M1. Please may you put these machines through a suite of tests under low power mode...
great idea!
I appreciate the audio and heat comparisons a lot
Thanks for all of these mac videos! As a student who is about to enter university, I really needed something liike this so that I could make the best decision on what computer to pick up and take with me for the upcoming years~
With the SSD issues how much storage do you need to to make sure you at least have the same speeds as the M1 Pro? Is 1 TB enough or do you need to get a 2 TB SSD?
I love how you know what you’re talking about and make it super easy to understand 👏👏👏
Haha
I just bought a Mac Book Pro 2023 w/16 GB unified memory and 1TB storage...$1000...Is this a great deal and can I do alot with it?
Great video, does you guys know the reason why speaker sounds different?
It appears that there are a few tradeoffs with the M2 Pro Macbook Pros, but if the price is right, it could be worth it. The only reason to upgrade from the M1 to the M2 would be to get the HDMI 2.1 and high refresh rate features. Thus, the older models are now looking like a great deal in comparison to the new full price models. Thank you for this informative video!
Isn't the refresh rate same on both m2 pro and m1 pro?

It appears that there are a few drawbacks with the M2 Pro Macbook Pros, but if the cost is reasonable, it could be worth it. The only incentive to upgrade from the M1 to the M2 would be to get the HDMI 2.1 and high refresh rate features. Consequently, the older models are now looking like an excellent deal in comparison to the new full price models. Thank you for this insightful video! Moreover, it is crucial to take into account the tradeoffs of size, battery life, and performance, so it is essential to do your own research and make a knowledge-based decision.

Super excited to see all the comparisons between the different Macbook configurations Keep up the good work
Oh, cool! I always wanted to have one of macs with modern arm soc's. Fingers crossed!
Amazing amazing video! Very informative! Thank you 🙏 i have a question, what about gaming? Which one will be better? The M1 or M2
I bought a refurbished 2021 16 inch M1 pro with 16gb ram & 1tb SSD for 2.2k euro compared to 3.1k for the M2 model. Did I made the right choice? Don't think it is worth a ~900 euro upgrade..
This is a great comparison of the Mac's. It's very detailed with a lot of useful information for purchasing and understands the upgraded/downgrades from each generation. Your content is one of the best out there and I've been sharing the info with my family. This is a great series and I will be looking forward to other videos that come out from this channel. Thanks again for all the hard work, God bless y'all!
Max Tech and Tech gear talk - my go to!
Your videos helped me make the right decision to knowing exactly what to buy once I am ready
Do you recommend getting M2 macbook air or M1Max 16'' or M2 pro 16'' for someone who does a lot of video editing
Thanks for making this video! Greetings from Ecuador
You guys do really good videos - the editing with the sound comparisons is on point!
Your side-by-side comparisons are always great
I loved this video about the new Macs! You guys are always doing an excellent job in providing accurate and detailed information about the latest tech. I'm very excited to purchase a MacBook based on the amazing reviews you guys do. Thank you!
Great video as always. Apple’s chips are insane. Still loving my M1 Air, and it does all I need it to for now, but the power of these machines is getting insane.
I love these computers... Could you do a video of trying to upgrade the RAM? I know apple says you can't but I've seen many video of other ppl upgrading it
Your side by side comparisons are great
Upgraded my Intel MBP to the 16” base M2 max with 64GB, and really am enjoying the extra horsepower of the M2. To bad the M2 Pro didn’t have a higher memory option.
Your comparison reviews are always so insightful.
I’m really curious for how long the M1 Pro will be supported by Apple. The performance difference between M1 Pro and M2 Pro doesn’t justify a much longer support for the M2 imo
You are right. M1 going to be old 3 years.
Thank you for covering every single inch of the laptop
Great videos - clear picture - the new M2 is overclocked, uses more wattage, makes it more unstable, and uses more power - cancels out the gains. Quality looks impressive, M1 my choice just gotta find one now
hello, I've been watching your videos for 5 years now and even though I can't afford most of the reviewed models, thanks to you I have a much better overview of what bazaar model I'll buy and spend money on in the future... you're doing a great job, thank you for everything... :-)
Your reviews and comparison videos are always so thorough. Nice job
Thank you, guys, for doing all the testing with different machines
Dam this makes me think that there is no need to upgrade from the existing M1 Max / Pro laptops. Thanks guys for the really informative videos.
I’m a super indecisive person having your channel at my disposal is a great way of combating it. Haha thank you!
the level of details and information on each video is amazing. the only video that you'll need to buy the MacBook pro m2 is this one. Great job. Keep it up.

Amazing how the M1’s are holding out a lot better than the M2’s in a lot more areas. Makes me wonder what is Apple’s strategy with these machines
Amazing content 🎉 thanks
Is it worth it to buy M1 Pro MacBook in 2023 as the price is almost half of the M2 pro?
I wonder if this is still the battery king like the 16" M1 Pro. Great video Vidim
