- They have played in front of more than 35 million fans in more than 50 countries and still today, after 30 years since their debut, they have kept their rock'n'roll brand unchanged and are back with a new album and a new tour. Here's Bon Jovi, the American band who launched hits such as "Always", "It's My Life", "Livin' on a Prayer" and many more.
Together with a small group of journalists we met frontman Jon Bon Jovi on a visit to Milan to present the single "Because We Can", which anticipates the release of the album in March "What About Now."
What is the secret of their never-ending success? Keeping up with the times and remaining themselves, and maybe writing a song for a movie...
Watched Bon Jovi from the moment they first started. Bought every album. Seen them at Wembley about 30 years ago and I am still crazy about them. (London UK)

Funny thing too, I've met both Jon and Richie and let me just say that Richie is the most fantastic down to earth guy you could ever hope to meet. What you see in interviews is truly how he is. Nothing is too much trouble, always friendly - the consummate professional gentleman. Jon, he could learn a lot from Richie.

85. Granted, I grew up on a farm doing shit that boys should be helping their dad with but I had no siblings. However, I loved it and I loved to play hard. Athletics-anything I could. I've paid a tough price with injuries but wouldn't change a thing. I hope you have no regrets ever or that you can reconcile any regrets.

What I want is for them to go back to their creative roots when they actually did something new and exciting, that's what they did, thats what they used to be good at.
It's one thing to try new things, but it's another to destroy the foundation of everything creative that made you unique and made you who you are. He's become a shadow of what he used to be and it's lamed things down. It's unfortunate - no one more than me wants to buy a new album and love every track like I used to. believe me!

Not necessairily true. Not when you consider the fact that Bon Jovi under the management of Doc Mcghee (Slippery-Jersey era) they produced great albums and sold affordable concert tickets. In 92 Jon fired Doc and took over as manager. We had Faith and then These Days before a five year hiatus and they come back with the first livin' on a prayer rewrite: it's my life. Every album since has a not been of quality standard. Then there's the trend following, football teams, baby prams...
Biased myself lol (singer) and I agree Richie is one of the nicest guys I've Ever met in the music industry. All of the members are even Alec John Such.

Unless they are opening for bigger bands. Jame Hettfield of Metallica said it many years ago and it hold true to today. The They sold out remark is completely stupid becuae once you've signed your name to a contract and put anything down on tape you've instantly sold out technically.
Really wish he didn't go corporate and sell out. I miss when the band actually played and rehearsed new material together instead of just recording generic music separately to a click track. I don't care about his illuminating smile or hair style, I care about the songs that used to sound original and were a great soundtrack to my life - everybody's life. Why this bland middle of the road safe stuff? These Days was their swan song.

As much as I love Richie(especially the Stranger album) his latest record is guilty of the same thing most songs on that record sound like Either Coldplay or The Foo Fighters take your pick the rest sound like songs left off The Circle Album.

He told us and everyone else in the room that he left mostly because he was tired of the constant grind of it all the touring and recording and such and grew tired of the fame. but this was in 2008 years after he began speaking to Jon and Richie again so who knows if he's telling the truth or just covering up for that interview he gave in the mid 90's right before he left

An example of them doing music by numbers is how 'born to follow' almost steals the chorus from born to be my baby, when we were beautiful sounds like Springsteen's gypsy biker, its my life-have a nice day-everyday, work for the working man pretty much stole the bass line from prayer. What happened to the originality? Why is there only maybe one or two ok songs on an album now? This won't matter to the millions of girls who will swoon over a set of bright teeth and a hair flick but come on!
Oops! Seems I've hit a nerve! I know! I know! I'm not arguing with you. Richie's album is his own work like it or not. But when it comes to the band, it's Jon's vehicle, and to this very day the rest of the band are just hired help and not equal members. The direction is solely on his shoulders.
