The man blew his knee onstage more than once and kept singing through the pain, so as not to disappoint his fans. He handled all those situations like the professional he is! This is why Bon Jovi has been my favourite band from the first time I ever heard them over 35 years ago!

Not totally true. They use playbacks for the chorus of "living on a prayer" for a long time in concerts, a) for a fuller sound and b) only David reaches the tones - most of the times.
OMG... Didn´t want to confuse/Anger somebody... As far as I know, they only use it for one chorus and even that is no CD.. They use an older live Version where the band really hit the notes very well.. Bon Jovi don´t sing the Chorus for years now, his voice developed and it is too high (listen to some of his "attempts" of the higher notes before the guitar solo. It is very hard for him, but he still tries it every time.
But to be totally honest - and so sorry if i might offend you now: Please do yourself a favour and never search on Wikipedia the term: "Backing_track" - I am afraid, you wouldn´t attend a concert except of a few local guys at the nearest Club... You would be surprised or disgusted or all in between when you read, which and how many bands/singers use "technical help" during Concerts, just to give the fans the pleasure of a nearly perfect concert..

He left because he wanted a bigger slice of the overall pie, like tour/merch profits. JBJ was the only one signed to the label, so he was the boss. Richie felt like he deserved more recognition, as he was an essential ingredient of the band's success.

I love it. It shows that Jon is human, and he's not afraid to laugh at himself. He is a truly genuine man. He's generous, he's not stuck up and he makes mistakes like everyone else. I love him more for it.

Exactly! I’ve seen him in concert 3 times and each time was amazing! He’s been doing this for 30+ years... people need to give him a break! People hold singers/celebrities to a ridiculous high standard... they’re human and make mistakes just like everyone else in the world. The way he handles those mistakes makes him even more lovable. He’s humble and can laugh at himself 😊 He keeps going and has fun with it.

Come on guys. I can't believe people are coming here to post hate comments about him now. He's been singing for almost 40 years, and yes, his voice is declining, but you can't knock him for trying. At home in 2020, when their tour was supposed to happen, his voice still sounded amazing. You can't expect someone to have such a voice for forever. On pretty much all of Bon Jovi's videos, you can find at least a couple recent hate comments about his voice. Just enjoy their previous recordings, and spare Jon and his fans the unneeded hate.

I was fortunate to be one of the privileged people to attend an invite-only, Bon Jovi concert at a very small club in Woodstock, NY. This was a very intimate setting. At some point during the set, the sound went out. Jon handled this very graciously by raising his glass and making a toast to the audience. At another point in the show, he took someone's Giants cap and placed it on his own head, stating that the Giants was his favorite team.
I talked to Tico at the bar after the show and shook Jon's hand backstage.

I wish I had the opportunity to "fail" as much as JBJ!! He's got 300 million reasons in the bank not to give a flying f*ck about what we think in youtubeland. You can tell he had voice coaching lessons a long while back and he shortens his phrasing and clips back his vowel sounds. Singing "me" long and loud hurts the vocal chords but if you sing "mey" it is a more rounded tone and puts less strain on the voice. Listening to Bon Jovi live highlights just how much he doesn't belt out the tunes the way they were recorded. Age comes to us all but he is still a ledge in my book.

Looked like he did the first one on purpose. He knows where to come in there. Probably wasn't happy about havin to lip-sync.
Actually, the playback was the single version of the song, so the intro was shorter than what the band normally plays live. He truly did forget to come in.

It probably was on purpose there are quite a few examples of rock bands making a mockery when asked to lip sync you should check out Iron Maiden when asked to lip sink on German tv they all switch roles in the band. Van Halen, faith no more and, iggy and the stooges have all also purposefully messed up lip syncing.

He’s a piss weak singer, it’s all production in the studio. It becomes apparent when you see him perform live, it’s like a bad cover band singing Bon Jovi songs. Just no power and energy that you get when hearing the albums. I wouldn’t be Cheering him when he forgets the lyrics of his own songs. Remember he is living the millionaire life of your ticket and album sales. Lucky for Richy Sambora he’s the real talent.

Lol. Some of these are funny. Aside from the one where he tore his calf. The first one I think is an example of where the shows producers make all artists lip-sync. You can tell there's none of that in his live performances though.
