FANTABULOUS! I am in Columbus, Ohio; my hubby & I volunteer with our local shelter and kitchen: the Dream Center and our local Ronald McDonald House (associated with nationwide children’s hospital) - lots of craft options! Thank you! 🧡
In South Carolina- Sister Care is a battered women's shelter. Also, Queer Haven Books has a lot for the LGBTQIA community. Thank you so much for this! ❤
A beginning crochet group in my senior building is making scarves to donate here in Chicago where immigrants are being targeted currently. We also have a huge homeless population.
Maryland - BeMoreCaring helps the unhoused and recently housed. Currently they handle north AA County and Baltimore, but are trying to expand to all of Maryland.
In Chesterton Indiana there is a really welcoming fiber store called Three Moons Fiber Works. They have multiple craft circles a month as well as sometimes having classes. In addition to yarn for knitting/crochet and roving for spinning/felting they also habe rentable looms for weaving! In Champaign, IL there is a pet rescue called Hospice Hearts which takes in pets from those no longer able to care for them. They take crafter volunteers to make items for the animals and for fundraising. They dont to my knowledge have a webpage with info of how to do so, but ive seen flyers before as well as posts on their Facebook? Im not sure who in the rescue one woukd need to contact to join
New York: Knit the Rainbow accepts knit and crochet garments to distribute free to homeless LGBTQ+ youth in New York City. It looks like they have drop-off donation locations in various local craft stores around the country.
Indiana and Michigan: Busy Hands of Michiana is a non profit that accepts donations of fabric, yarn, or handmade items to be distributed to locals in need.
This is incredible! If you would like to add the Netherlands, I would be willing to do some research on initiatives here ✨
