Scrap ends can also be used for gift wrapping. No need for plastic tape, just tie it up with lovely yarn. Another way to be creative.

As a sewist and quilter for almost 50 yrs I can tell you I keep every scrap for another use😅 but sewing has conditioned me to always repair/repurpose my clothing. It’s great to see a new generation of fiber creators prioritizing re-use rather than over consumption. Love your content😊

Love this! I'm a crochet/sewer with massive eco-anxiety;; the last few years I have committed to only purchasing natural fibers for my projects. It gets super expensive, especially when doing large projects like sweaters or throws, but that also makes me so much more mindful about what I'm doing and why, and I know I'm going to have it forever. It's also self-limiting - since I can't afford a lot it forces me to only buy what I need for a project, not load up on extra because it's pretty ad I'll use it "someday" (which is definitely a problem I have had!).

One thing I'm planning on doing is making a floor cushion for my child with all of the clothes he's grown out of as the stuffing! It might get a little lumpy, but he probably wouldn't care, and we can always fluff it back up. I'm going to use all my little balls of leftover yarn to crochet the outside ❤
Thank you so much for putting these videos up about saving the environment while crafting. You are reaching your target audience 🎉

You can always use short scraps to make a wall hanging. Just weave with them, tie bits together to make a long and knotty skein. I currently have one of those in the works- been adding to it for a few years now! Speaking of... I have a bag of scraps to add to it by now. See ya!

I just recently discovered your channel and although I don't crochet much, I do knit everyday. One tip I'll share: I just discovered something called a magic scrap yarn ball (I think that's what it's called) and basically you do a special couple of knots to join all your little scrap bits of yarn and you can then wind it into a ball to use to knit (or crochet) another project! I've been working on mine while I watch tv and it's pretty fun and mindless once you learn the knots. Lots of videos here on TH-cam to learn how. I'm keeping the teeny ends I trim from the knots to use as stuffing like you mentioned in your video.

I haven’t heard of that before, thanks so much for the tip! I’ll check it out, that would be fun to try out during an episode of Love Island! 🏝️

One other tip that makes a huge difference is to not buy new (not second hand) supplies that are not for a project you're starting immediately.
