For anyone else who has Ai 2023: "On July 14, 2021, the Adobe Color themes panel was disabled in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects." Also big shout out to Dan for this free course! For any one who cannot find the arc tool in their toolbar:
1. Click on the ellipse at the bottom of your toolbar
2. You'll see a window containing all your tools
3. You'll find the arc tool there
4. You can drag and drop it to your Shape tools collection for future use

He's GREAT! I've struggled trying to find how to do this and that because I don't want to be a designer just need to sometimes make something easy or edit a file. I ended up frustrated, giving up must of time, and ready to throw my computer. I finally broke down and tood this whole course and it was worth it, even for my limited needs. Plus, he's awesome. I love his personality that comes out in the video.

I study Art too and, yeah, we do not really learn so much technical stuff in class, but we learn to important stuff, means we learn how to come up with good project concepts. The realisation of the Project is important too, but it s usually enough to learn the basics of a Software in class and then ask your teacher for help and Tutorial recommendations, that Help you with special Things, you need for your project.
Of course, I can understand, why people think, you can learn stuff like Software by yourself, but - how I said - learning the Software ist not the hard part, learning the Skill to create good art is what you go to College for.
I Have spent my entire day watching these videos. They are FANTASTIC! I start school in 2 weeks to go for a graphic design degree. Ive watched so many other videos of these adobe apps and have struggled to understand alot of whats going on, but you sir are a great teacher. Already watched the inDesign course as well as this one and i went into the inDesign course not even knowing what the software was used for. Now i feel like i could confidently go into it and create layouts. Great job sir, thank you for your contribution. 👌🏻

started with this course 2 years ago and trust me, not only that this course is absolute gold but the pen tool is the best thing you can have as a designer. it's sometimes even faster than pencil tool and a drawing pad, if you've mastered it enough

Awesome! Followed it all the way through in a couple of days and at ~50% of the video I managed to create my own logo which I had sorta sketched in Photoshop, sort of a custom created font with some graphic parts added. Still watched the rest of the video as well.
For me this course was exactly the right pace with enough clicking on your own to keep interesting as well, all superclear instructions. Loved it. Have experience in Photoshop and Indesign so already quite familiar with the Adobe interfaces.

I made a big mistake placing myself in the a graphic design class with unwelcoming environment, which made me hate designing lesson. It took me 20 years to be frightened by the designed files even just open and look. Thank you Dan, I enjoy my three days learning and practising so much. I already feel missing you with you last piece of sharing. The only challenge, I found was the M logo creation. I could not paint the fill color to one of the rectangulars. Thank you a lot , I thought this tutorial was going to be complicated but it's very comprehensible and very digestible. I feel like I now know how other professional artists do vectors, it's less harder than I thought when you know the basics, even with basic knowledge you can already make popping good illustrations or artwork with AE illustrator tools, it's ridiculous, even if your bad at art AI will help make it look good for you.
On using the white arrow with the curvature tool, the line created with the anchor points is called a tangent. I'm absolutely loving how much math we see in Illustrator!
