Kishimoto's writing of Neji vs Kidomaru genuinely feels so inspired by HxH, as well as the other fights in this arc. This is highkey one of the best arcs to mix in a hypothetical with HxH characters.

Just for the record, Kurapika's hatsu-stealing has no restrictions (outside of landing a clean hit with the chain, which people tend to dismiss) because he needs to conjure the dolphin in order to actually use the stolen ability, which requires him to be in Emperor Time, which actively drains his lifespan by the second. He can also only have 1 stolen ability at a time, or 2 if he transfers one to someone else, while Chrollo can keep however many abilities he wants in his book and switch between them at will. So yeah, way more busted in terms of disabling your opponent, way less versatile and easy to use once you've actually stolen the ability.

no one there is part of the Akatsuki. The only ones in the Sound village that even know of the organization are Orochimaru and Kabuto. Also there's a lot of assumptions that would have to be made for Kurapika's nen vow to be for them which again would have no bearing on the retrieval of Sasuke

Part 1 Konoha 12 towards the end were gaining skills of jonin level fighters, but none of them (from that generation only Gaara and most likely final valley Naruto & Sasuke) had the power of a jonin. This was showcased when a prodigy in Neji was quickly blitzed by all the jonin vs. Hinata or similarly another prodigy in Gaara was blitzed by Base Guy when he was up against Lee. Minato and Shisui weren't just Jonin but at the peak of the Jonin tier with Jonin Minato in my opinion during the 3rd war being the strongest shinobi in the world even at that time So kid/early Anbu Kakashi being able to cut a lightning bolt when he wasn't at the peak of the shinobi world should show you the speed level of your average full fledged (not Tokubetsu Jonin although some scale to full jonin) Jonin are. Keep in mind, NO ONE besides Kimimaro, Final Valley Sasuke & Naruto, Gaara and Drunken fist Lee (if you fully go by the interpretation that is kina a gag moment of needing Base Guy and Neji to stop him) are even able to reach the Jonin levels of fighters even at the lowest end. With that being said, only Godspeed Kil, Adult Gon and (I assume) Emperor Time Kurapika would be in that at least jonin speed levels although Gon wouldn't go Adult form and Emperor Time Kurapika wouldn't happen.
Also, late war arc Naruto characters are standing up to DBZ characters, including post-Namek Saga. Granted for post-Namek/Frieza Saga it's only Kaguya and those who scale to her. Boruto era characters are scaling above that but yea I do think it's more of a downplay for the Narutoverse and slight upscale for HxH although we know the high tiers for both Naruto easily clears even in part 1. Like Old Hiruzen or any Sannin (or really even Jonin honestly up to post-rose Meruem) would no diff the Chimera Ants and Meruem

Also, Kakashi is faster than any of these guys. He was able to pack up an elite jonin at 10 years old during Kannabi Bridge. Not a single person in this video is beating him. As far as the idea that they don’t treat his speed as impressive, Minato - the guy KNOWN for his speed - calls him fast, and when Sakura and Ino hear about him cutting a bolt of lighting they think it’s impossible lmao. The scaling I used here is easily the most consistent. You can high ball the Naruto characters to Mach 250-ish, but you can high ball Killua to the speed of lightning (bare minimum Mach 587) even without Godspeed.
