The part when itachi put his essentially girlfriend in a genjitsu. that had them have the live he wished he could have with her. Was probably the most heartbreaking part of his story.

Itachi for me was one of the most unique characters from the series, he didn't go all out against anyone in his encounters, his calmness, intelligence and battle IQ experience are very underrated and unique in my opinion. ☯️
@@SpaNkeee In my opinion Itachi is one of the most Unique, Authentic and Influential characters from the series. The thing that people underestimate about Itachi fights/encounters, isn't just his power, (it's mainly writters or Kishimoto's fault for making Itachi seem or to look very powerful throughout the series) but how smart and intelligent he is during various situations, he never, ever underestimates his opponents because of his composure and his way of being, the level of thinking he's on honestly dwars most people in the series, with only people like Minato and Shikaku comparable with him. More precisly, Itachi isn't just an ordinary Shinobi also, he pretty much knows and he's also aware that all strong opponents have weaknesses (including himself), and he specializes in finding those "weaknesses" and exploiting them ("*Even the strongest of opponents always has a weakness*" - Uchiha Itachi) because he's that type of character who can exceed almost any expectations. Itachi is very unique and authentic, especially in the factor of facing various encounters approach, his unpredictability in his way of fighting style approach it's his key factor in all of his encounters. Being blind or nearly blind has never slowed him down (especially when he's pretty much serious, but that's the point, he has never go all out against anyone during the series.) Itachi it's that type of character who can exceed almost any expectations. (at least that's what we were shown in the anime by the creator Masashi Kishimoto). Moral of the story, never underestimate Itachi. He did more sick then most healthy ninjas do in their entire life. In my opinion No One should underestimate such an unpredictable Shinobi like Itachi, even Madara (I won't say that Itachi can beat him, but at least he will be pretty much able to put a decent fight that Madara will also be impressed in my opinion). Also how can some of you guys even consider that Totsuka Blade it's slow when no such speed feat has been shown through the Shippuden that state it that it is slow? All of you are assuming it to be slow it may not be the case... Its not that the sword is unavoidable but it clearly has a very long range and is a very long blade. If you look at the manga, Naruto, Bee and Itachi are all relatively small from Nagato's point of view, and you can see the Totsuka Blade extending all the way from Itachi, piercing through Nagato, and still managing to nearly pop out toward the reader out of the page. I would say its fast because Kabuto coudldn't even react to it, and its not like Nagato was completely immobile to the point that he couldn't sidestep the blade. Also, Kabuto controlling people from far away is never stated to inhibit the Edos' reaction speed in any way. Being controlled by someone thousands of miles away didn't stop the Third Raikage from dodging KCM Naruto's Rasenshuriken. And as for Orochimaru, the sword struck him in between syllables of a word during his speech. I think that that is pretty fast. Pair the Totuska Blade with a good feint and its lethal because its ethereal, meaning it can pierce through any object. If the sword didn't live up to its reputation then Orochimaru wouldn't seek it out. People need to stop downplaying Itachi and denying the very clear speed feats of Totsuka. There is no room for interpretations here. The advantage of being an Uchiha, especially for Itachi and Madara, is that during an encounter against them, they always have a counter because of their unpredictable way of fighting factor, they don't run out of options or techniques, they almost always have a counter in their arsenal, even forbidden jutsus seems irrellevant against them, only a few Uchihas know a certain way to approach the situation with a certain and effective technique, that's why is hard/difficult to fight against them in my opinion. ☯️ 🤷♂️ Here are the things that make Itachi so formidable. Tsukuyomi - A genjutsu so powerful that you literally can't escape it unless you have the same blood as Itachi, as stated by Itachi himself and proven later by Sasuke, or you're a jinchuriki. Jinchuriki are supposed to be immune to genjutsu but it hasn't been proven, but when Bee was fighting Edo Nagato and Itachi with Naruto, he said to watch out for Tsukuyomi explicitly. Literally 99% of all opponents fighting Itachi have no way of stopping Tsukuyomi. You could have the power to split the planet in half and it wouldn't matter. (Want to know why? - Kakashi pretty much state it in the actual anime and manga that Tsukuyomi it's such a dangerous Genjutsu Technique because it happen in a instant, even if you realize that you are trapped in the Tsukuyomi, it will be too late, because Itachi could approach you during that time in the real world (or he can use an Explosive Clone to approach you without you even realizing it in time and he can pretty much finish you before you can even realize, - 72 hours in Tsukuyomi realm means 1 second or a couple of seconds in the real world. Tsukuyomi can't be broken, when used to it's fullest.) The Sword of Totsuka and Yata Mirror - The Susanoo itself is a near invincible defense but these two weapons take it to the next step. The Sword of Totsuka can seal "anything" if it even touches it. It's completely OP. It's hard to fight a guy that can seal you away if his sword even touches you. The Yata Mirror is even a bigger deal in my opinion. It doesn't block attacks, it's "negates" them. You could throw an Amaterasu covered Bijuu bomb at Itachi and the Yata mirror will negate it, making it so the Susanoo doesn't even need to take a blow. You could punch the Yata mirror and the force will completely be negated. His biggest strength of all: tactical intelligence - Itachi always outsmarts and plans for everything because the plot demands it. You're physically strong? Itachi is already 2 steps ahead of you knowing exactly what to do. You're extremely fast? Again, 2 steps. You're going to try and outlast Itachi in a fight? Good luck. To add to this, some of the 3 most powerful techniques in the verse are due to his intelligence and planning ability; Izanami, Izanagi, and Kotoamatsukami. Izanami - A forbbiden genjutsu technique that allows you to alter someone's destiny. Impossible to break out of even if you know you're in a genjutsu without complying with the users set destiny for you. Even someone like Bee, a perfect Jinchuriki, can't escape Izanami unless he does what Itachi wants him to. Izanagi - You somehow gained an advantage over Itachi? He makes it so that advantage never happened. Kotoamatsukami - Though Shisui's technique, Itachi has his eye which effectively makes it his weapon. A genjutsu so powerful that the person it's cast on doesn't even know they're under a genjutsu. Like the Tsukuyomi, completely OP. To add to all of this, Itachi is pretty good at hand to hand combat, is great with shuriken, is extremely fast, is great with regular fire techniques, is slippery and unpredictable, and has the extremely dangerous and fast Genjutsu style of fighting approach that can caught you off guard almost at any time. With all of these things considered you've got one dangerous ninja. Lastly but not least Kishimoto made sure that Itachi was seen as someone special and he did an incredible job in establishing that in the story. When Itachi Uchiha awakened his Susano'o, he was seen wielding legendary weapons of the Totsuka Blade and the Yata Mirror. The former allowed Itachi to seal anyone he pierced in a world of genjutsu forever, while the latter gave him the ability to deflect any and all attacks thrown towards him, regardless of whether they were physical or spiritual in nature. According to Zetsu (who was around since the period of Kaguya time era until the present of Naruto) he state it in the anime and also in the manga that these weapons, when combined with his Susano'o, made Itachi Invincible. This is why Kishimoto basically had to give him a handicap: Naruto AIDS. 🤷♂️ ☯️
@@SalmanulFarisi101 What you have to remember, is that even in his battle with Sasuke, he has been fighting to lose. Itachi has always attempted to avoid conflict at all costs. He has to maintain his cover as an Akatsuki member, so he has to make viable excuses to avoid battle. When he says that fighting Jiraiya would have serious consequences, we know that he has an innate desire not to fight anyone at all, let alone a hero of the leaf, and he was a spy protecting Konoha from shadows. He could have killed Kakashi with ease. Kakashi even states that Itachi could have killed him, and wondered why he didn't. Knowing this, it is easy to see the pieces that point to a picture of Itachi that is devastatingly powerful in combat. In his confrontation with Asuma and Kurenai when he enters Konoha, we see him send Kurenai flying a large distance with a simple kick. We also see him deflect chidori, and snap Sasuke's arm like a twig with a single hand. He also sends Sasuke flying clear down the hallway with another kick in this fight. He is obviously a powerful, versatile, unpredictable and underrated taijutsu user. We know that he can kill with a glance using Tsukyoumi or Amaterasu, and become nearly invincible with his Susanoo. We see him use exploding clones, (it's his one of his unpredictability in his fighting way approach) powerful genjutsu not linked to his sharingan, ( with a single point of a one of his fingers) and making hand seals at insane speeds. He kicks the shit out of Kakashi and he barely moves. Tobi also tells us himself that Itachi could have killed him if it weren't for carefully guarded secrets. Orochimaru beats Tsunade and Jiraiya without the use of his arms. Granted, Jiraiya was drugged, but it's still the point. Orochimaru couldn't use seals at all. Itachi obliterated Orochimaru effortlessly. Itachi has been a step above from the beginning. In order for him to keep his cover in Akatsuki, he had to avoid conflict without arousing suspicion, and the best way to do that was to present himself as being much less powerful than he actually is. The one thing we have been able to see in detail, is his intelligence and unpredictability in his fighting way approach. Itachi has been shown to be able to plan events years in advance, to account for possible flaws in his plans with powerful contingencies, and to use every possibility to his advantage. Shikamaru plans a few hours in advance, and we label him a tactical genius. If that is the case, what does one even call Itachi? The only real flaws that Itachi possesses is a smaller chakra reserves, and his own morality which keeps him from gaining Eternal Mangekyo. But even the chakra is arguable. The techniques we see him use are enormously powerful, and would therefor have a huge chakra cost. I'm not going to say he is the most powerful character in the anime, but I am going to say he is definitely very very high on that list, and probably higher than most people seem to give him credit for. Lastly but not least, Kishimoto made sure that Itachi was seen as someone special and he did an incredible job in establishing that in the story. 🤷🏻♂️☯️✌️
I remember back when Naruto was airing and while Itachi was a favorite character among many fans, it was for entirely different reasons than after his history and backstory were revealed. One of the most well written characters in the show, ever!
I also remember not many people really understood itachi until the story in naruto finally explained it. but yeah it feels like just yesterday watching old naruto and seeing itachi
I remember buying his figurine with my pocket money in highschool. Ill never forget when the cashier at Ebay (gamestop for Aus) was like "Itachi? nice choice man". Cartoon network was only up to Itachi fighting Jiraiya.
I find it funny that Itachi finds Obito and goes, "Hey, you're the guy who almost killed me. Wanna help me massacre our clan?" And Obito is just like, "Bet!"
The fact Itachi requires long form videos to truly explain and understand him as a character just goes to show how amazingly well written his character was and the depth of his character. The whole story of Itachi and his influence in the world of Naruto is some of the best writing in anime, and the fact that it has many ties back to Japanese lore/gods makes it even more interesting and deep. Its still a shame that Itachi had to suffer an early death, I think in an alternative Naruto world, its easy to believe Itachi would have become the strongest Shinobi ever and probably a Hokage. Madara and Obito may have been stronger than Itachi in the absolute sense but neither were anywhere near as strong, skilled, wise, and intelligent as Itachi was when they were his age, if he had been able to live as long as Madara had he would have 100% been stronger than him and that goes for Obito too(obviously non 6 paths Obito).
@@Keyboard_warri0or Itachi was only 21 with a terminal illness when he died. Even Obito admitted that Itachi was stronger than him even with that illness. Itachi likely would've been able to form a perfect Susano without his illness. He definitely would've been a pretty good match for Madara. The only advantage madara would've had was his rinnegan, which Itachi could've easily gotten his hands on. He also had Shisui's eye which could've cast a genjutsu onto madara without him even knowing it. These reasons are why he had to be given a terminal illness and die during his battle with Sasuke. Dude was too OP to let him fight Madara in the fourth great ninja war.
6:30 As much as Itachi sees the clan as "selfish" they were completely justified in how they felt and acted. The Uchiha Clan was a founding Clan of the village and instead of being held in equal regard to the Senju Clan they were instead viewed with scorn and suspicion. Hashirama treated them as equals and because of that they abandoned Madara and didn't heed his words. Tobirama on the other hand subjugated them under the Senju and relegated them to be the Police force where they did village's grunt work. Even then, the village government didn't trust them and instead placed the ANBU over their heads. As the years went by, Tobirama's own students inherited his distrust of the clan and went further with it. During the war they minimized Fugaku's contributions to the war and did the same during the Nine Tails attack despite them faithfully following orders and protecting the village. Then the clan was thrown under the bus and forced to move to the outskirts of the village where they were monitored by the villagers. When Fugaku said that this would impede their duties as the police force, Danzo basically told him to shut up as that was the job of the ANBU. This was a massive slap in the face. The village basically gaslit the clan and then conspired to have them eliminated on any pretense they could find. Hiruzen instead of trying to peacefully resolve things, just sat on his hands wishing for things to go away. And when a government ignores its people's grievances and petitions for redress this is what makes a revolution inevitable. Itachi far from being the "noble hero" who saved village was rather an instrument for the corrupt and evil machinations of the village's government.
FINALLY ppl glorify him & he turned his back on his own clan even killing innocent kids & his gf who wasnt even apart of the coup. He’s strong but that’s it.
@@zRedBxll they weren’t part of the coup, but Danzig required they all die except for sasuke, as Itachi asked to spare him. Also Hiruzen couldn’t do anything because they weren’t supposed to know about the coup, so they were trying to act like they didn’t. The clan was blamed for the nine tails attack but they were the only people that were really strong enough to pull something like that off. I mean they had genjutsu for the tailed beasts, the had people strong enough to be hokages, and this was just after they chose Minato over Fugaku so they had more motive.
Tsukuyomi has to be one of the coolest abilities in all of anime. I mean some people think it can be broken out of when sasuke does it but that was itachi making sasuke think he did it by him self. And as said in the video he can simulate someone's entire life in less than a second and make they die of natural causes hard to beat something that badass.
Man you skipped over like the greatest speech from early Itachi. Starting from the top with Appearance and him not being a patient man, but this is an excerpt of it. "The clan! The clan! You overestimate your abilities, with no idea of depth of my own." Obsessed with the organization. Obsessed with the clan, obsessed with our lineage....that whole thing was so fire.
@@thedoomslayer5863 in the Sasuke flashback that happens like two or three times and in the Itachi set of stories. It's when those two police force dudes come and accuse him of killing shisui
@@avian8714 Ah. Figures he'd whip that line out on some no name Uchiha fodder show up trying to intimidate him lol. But I'd love to see him say that line to someone that's also seen as very very strong. Then have Itachi follow through and embarrass them. Naruto needed to do some spin offs about other people and their lives like Itachi and Kakashi or might guy instead of Boruto IMO.
@@thedoomslayer5863 we had those... The light novels? I mean you probably wanted more but still like we basically had mini spins about those people minus Guy.
I'm just thinking about how much effort does this guy puts in these videos and how much do we appreciate it.Not to say if he can make a living out of it,we need this dude for further more content and we must show appreciation for his effort.Keep the videos up we fucking love it
@@NCHammer23 Btw for future video, if you can. can you talk about Izanagi and Izanami, those power are very interesting to me. I watched the filler and I know how they work lol, I remember, one part you need both blood clans to use one of the powers. Man many thanks for your vid and keep up the good work
I’m still convinced that if Itachi didn’t have a plot illness, he would of wrecked everybody, dude was sick/dying and going blind…. And still wrecked just about everybody 🤣
@@thurvokun6571 Itachi died at the age of 21, Madara died at over a hundred years old and obito was several years older than itachi and had been training with madara We are not really sure that itachi could beat obito let alone madara but we're just saying that we haven't seen Itachi at his full potential yet
Itachi and Kuruk (from the avatar series) really remind me of each other (without the whole killing your family) and here is why. They both were obligated to carry someone else’s legacy and framed that way as society. They both lost the people they were closest to (there significant other) which were the only people that would mainly help in there society. Both secretly did missions to not only carry on everyone’s expectations, made sure loved one’s didn’t get involved, protect the whole society, but those same missions drained there mental health while society hated them because they didn’t know what they were actually doing. In the end, they both died looking like villains when they were actually heroes and you don’t know that until you really look at them outside the story.
At around 31:50, when he said "you have to be 13 to be an anbu captain", I realised how fucked up Itachi's life was upto this point. That one hit me like a truck
Itachi, Minato, Shisui, Nagato, Jiraiya & Naruto are the best ninjas in the show. Kabuto & Obito have a great story around them aswell, but they never wanted a peaceful world without fighting.
This confirms or at least further backs my hypothesis that a user’s Susano’o and Mangekyou abilities are a reflection of their will. Obito’s Kamui had the ability to erase his body from the physical world into a new one, much like his plan. Madara’s Susano’o has two faces, one which faces his back, because he states it’s his weakness several times, and how even if he’s a leader, he’ll fail because he hates people standing behind him, yet those running behind him won’t catch up to him, a duality. Sasuke’s Amaterasu was a physical manifestation of his hate, his bond with his brother and his ability to control the flames of Amaterasu is his ability to take control of situations Itachi couldn’t take control of. His ability to take control of everything and see clearly, now that the illusion his brother had cast upon his life is no longer there.
I also think that the sort of mangekyou ability relates to the individual's stress and suffering, but I kinda saw amaterasu and tsukuyomi as the standard abilities. Itachi and shisui had to deceive everyone, so their tsukuyomi was strong, while Sasuke and madara felt too weak, so they were beter with amaterasu. Obito was always late and hurrying to places, so he gained space time ninjutsu with his kamui.
Having grown up watching subbed Naruto from the age of 10, waiting weekly for new eps, I feel like I missed and didn’t understand so much of the story. Now since time has passed, I have forgotten so many plot points and character interactions. Thank you so much for the careful and digestible account of Itachi’s character and also adding in all the information about Japanese mythology ✨
In a worst case scenario, the Uchiha really could have just left the village, instead of waging war with it. Ideally, they should have put their faith in the next generation of Uchiha, and in turn members like Shushui and Itachi would have gotten them the respect they wanted. Both Danzo and Hiruzen liked Itachi and they don't agree on anything. He was pretty much guaranteed to be the next Hokage. Even Fugaku admitted it in the end.
It would probably make matters worst. Because if the leave the village, Konoha would see it as treason especially if other villages adopt them to make them fight against Konoha seeing they already have hatred against the people running the village. They would be easily controlled by other villages into possibly invading Konoha.
Why leave what they rightfully have bled to protect? They were literally being discriminated against. Thats like African Americans fighting for the US in WW2 just to come home and get put in concentration camps. Should they just leave America? Itachi was just a race traitor
Itachi and Shizui could have just put Fugaku and everyone else who hated the village into a genjutsu to make them more understanding. Then they could just work together, and eventually Itachi would likely be a Hokage. That would have saved a lot of conflict, but eliminated half of the plot so I can see why they didn't do that.
Thanks for this wonderful breakdown. I’ve watched Naruto for over 15 years and Itachi and his story will forever be apart of me and this completely solidifies it. One of the greatest characters ever written.
How tf did minato beat him in intelligence when itachi was like 8 and minato was like 12 when he took the exam?? Tf lol. Minato doesnt come close to itachis intelligence.
The one thing he didn’t talk about is how impressive his abilities are because the village leaders noticed how talented itachi was and let him take the chunin test alone and how he became a chunin on his first try
This just make me want to see how powerful Itachi could have been without his sickness. The man was slowly dying over the years and still manage to be one of the strongest shinobi of his time. With clones being a thing in the Narutoverse maybe we could see one made with his DNA in the future (I'd be satisfy with just a filler arc or movie).
Wow, there’s was a lot of little details that I never knew about Itachi. As Itachi and Sasuke being my absolute favorite characters of the entire series, this video was absolutely amazing to watch. Thank you for teaching me more information about Itachi. One of the best videos I’ve seen in a while. Big thumbs up! Definitely subscribing after watching this video. Keep up the good work man!
i have to admit my personal interpretation of orochimaru "looking for the totsuka blade" was always that he was looking for an uchiha with that sword, i mean he was OBSESSED with posessing an uchiha body forever basically so it made sense in my head, i figured he just knew alot more about the uchiha and their 'hidden powers' then he 1. let on to believe 2. then the wider audience knew
Itachi is known for being a smart ninja but Minato got a higher score on the test but Minato is known for being the fastest ninja ever but Itachi beat Minato in the timed part of the exam lol
Thank you for this vid I just got into naruto last year and was going through the worst time of my life. Naruto counselled me and Itachi's story affected me the most.. I even have his Mangekyo Sharingan eye tatted on my left hand with crows. This video was amazing! Made me proud to use the power of Itachi's story to get through mine!
This is absolutely the best definition of the name and person that itachi was. As my favorite character in all of anime I’ve grown a new appreciation of Masashi kishimoto’s art work, story telling and a different outlook on life so I thank you NCHammer deeply ❤
I wasn’t a big fan of itachi before I watched this video, but now I am, since I actually now understand itachi’s way of thinking and mindset. Truly a amazing, pure but tragic character. Thank you for this video!
Also for his Mangeykyo abilities Amaterasu, and Tsukiyomi. They can be represented as emotions basically. For Amaterasu they are practically the burning flames of hatred. In Itachi's case it is Danzo and that Aburame guy that killed Shisui. For Tsukoyomi it is the representation of Itachi's inner pain. Look how it was to Kakashi, intense and long pain just like it was for Itachi.
There is NO ONE on TH-cam that can describe anime as good as this guy! The detail the breakdown the explanations are all simply so amazing it’s no wonder he has over 100k in just a few months. Very big fan keep up the good work!! 🔥🙏🏽💪🏽
The name of Itachi's opponent during the second round of the third part of the Chunin Exams literally means "tired" or "sleepy," and that brings me joy.
I’ve definitely had a phase where I’ve just been looking at some of these older videos since I recently discovered this channel, I’ll download one and listen to it at work. Really put a lot of the story into new context.
You've got yourself a new subscriber I love the way you broke down even the finest details even aside from the manga not many youtubers that explain anime do that or even consider mentioning the books, or even diving into character development and ability origins I'll be sure to check out the hiyuga affair next now that I've watched this video
@36:58 just a reminder that Danzo actually received his sharingan-embedded arm from Orochimaru with Shin as the donor. It was Obito who took all the eyes from the slaughter.
You got a new fan man...ima big itachi fan thought I knew all there is but learned from your video...not usually a fan of TH-cam anime content but you have started 2 change my mind...keep killing it!!
the uchiha may have still been alive if they choose to just make their own village instead of choosing to take over the leaf because then itachi and shisui wouldn't have a reason to turn against them
I think some distant Uchiha sort of did that? From what I read, there was this clan called the Fuma Clan after a while some how they bred out the Sharingan but kept their talent with Shuriken and made their own signature designs of it. By the Boruto era however it seems the clan had returned and one of the members of the Fuma Clan is the current Police Force Captain.
Well the Leaf Village is also responsible like come on they banned the guys due to their abilities even when they really wanted to help thats discrimination
That would've painted an even bigger target on their back. The Uzumaki had their own village as well, and 4 nations conspired together to genocide them, it's clear that the same thing would happen to the Uchiha.
Either way. Danzo had plans even if it were to utilize the Uchiha or not. He wanted power and he would go to great lengths to get it. He wanted be Hokage after all.
Thank you for the video on my favorite character, I'm always happy to revisit this story no matter how many times I read or see it. I'm just glad Itachi was able to come back within the series and get a small peak at the outcome of his convictions. I'm sure even in death he was concerned for Sasuke, but obviously given the way things turned out when he came back, I guess that was rightfully so. There are characters I would love to see make a comeback in one form or another within Boruto, however I feel like Itachi accomplished his goals and that his existence is more torturous than he lets others see due to his outwardly kind nature.
I said this on another video… Sasuke didn’t deserve Itachi, and I stand on that. All of this for Sasuke. It just doesn’t sit well with me. Itachi’s story is like beyond GoT level story telling. Absolute brilliance and tragedy… I know this story well, and would probably pay to see it in an animated movie form. Awesome job on this video, NCHAMMER. Salute.
Sasuke is the best written character naruto and he very much so deserved itachi. You cant sit here and tell me his actions weren't justified. If you justify itachis actions and then there's no reason to not understand sasukes asw. If you don't understand sasuke as a character then just say but to day he didn't deserve itachi is crazy and dumb
I like sasuke way to much tho… Also there would be no naruto without a sasuke You have to ask yourself what other character would have deserved him that would make naruto on the level it is today

Itatchi held the burden of the lives of one thousand men. His soul so pure that is still contained massive amounts of love even at the end when he died. To be tortured like that internally throughout his entire life and still come out a good person is exactly why I love itatchi's character

I really enjoyed your video on Itachi Uchiha. You did a great job of explaining his backstory and motivations, and I learned a lot about him that I didn't know before. I especially appreciated your insights into his relationship with Sasuke, and how his actions were ultimately motivated by love for his brother. I think Itachi is a very complex and tragic character, and I'm glad that you took the time to explore his story in such depth. Your video has definitely made me appreciate him more as a character, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
For the part about Orochimaru seeking the Totsuke Blade, he most likely read up on Uchiha who had those weapons in the past and to his surprise Orochimaru finds out that Itachi was gifted these legendary weapons. Tobirama stated during the Fourth Shinobi War that he's encountered Uchiha with the Amateratsu before when he witnessed Sasuke using his.
I absolutely love your content, explaining things with this much detail to my own friends and others only for it to be shut down because they're biased af almost killed my motivation and love for the Naruto community as a whole. You instantly brought me back with the like-mindedness. Thank you so much! Subbed
Dude, you tell us stuff about Naruto the way an older Bro tell his younger bro about the crazy stories he had in middle school, detailed enough for us to understand and in a cool way that makes it stick in your head. he was forced to choose between two evils. he wasn't strong enough to stop certain things that were already in motion by the time he was forced to make a decision. instead he opted to save the village from another civil war in the hopes it would allow Sasuke to live a better life later on. although it was going to be pretty shit without his family, this would stop Sasuke from having to see real war and potentially death. it basically saved Sasuke, and gave him a noble cause to aspire too, in reclaiming honor and glory by defeating Itachi later. all in all, pretty smart decision in a terrible situation with two horrible potential outcomes.
I love the video, but I was hoping that you would get in depth about Itachi's illness because they don't really explain it well in the anime and it always left me with questions like was Itachi just too powerful that they had to kill him off via an illness
Your work ethic is insane!!! I and many others appreciate the amount of work you put into these!! I hope when you get the recognition you deserve you’re able to spread your love and knowledge on other Manga/Anime besides Naruto. I can tell you have a genuine love of Manga/Anime as a whole. I thoroughly enjoyed your HXH and Demon Slayer vids. Also I really appreciate you consciously making the decision to keep in your mistakes in the vids it helps to make you more relatable.
Itachi's teacher didn't want him to take the training exam because he was jealous of his abilities. And what are your thoughts on Itachi being able to put Aburame insects into a genjutsu? Do you think it's because of the unique relationship between yoji and said insects that made the difference or what ?
We also cant gloss over the fact that he was literally a kid. 13 years old and sure he was supposedly as wise as a hokage at age 7 but that's bs. Being mature and a prodigy does not equate to life experience which is something a hokage should have more of compared to a 7 year old. Both the uchiha and konoha placed so much on his shoulders and he was definitely manipulated to go through the massacre. The "there's no other way", shisui eye-stealing and lowkey blackmailing him with sasuke's life(the whole he'd die if the uchiha went through with the revolution/if itachi took his clan's side) were definitely used to push him to that extreme. He's not a mentally stable 13 year old and he's forced to make a decision that the Third Hokage should have made. Yes, this way the Uchiha name is kept "clean" but we can clearly see how it affected Itachi so much so that he took measures to manipulate his younger brother into hating him by literally almost driving him insane with a genjutsu basically on the spot. Whether that extreme was necessary or not can be put up for debate but the fault still lies in the Third Hokage's inability to make hard choices. Hiruzen knew full well that Danzo was not a saint. Sure he may have done everything with "Konoha in mind" but they all seem to forget that protecting Konoha also means protecting the Uchihas. The council has a shit ton of power that can overule the Hokage whenever because it will always be 3 to 1 and they're all childhood friends. When faced with a potential civil war, Hiruzen should have resolved it diplomatically. That was the perfect time to make amends and fix the mess that started with Tobirama. Integrate the Uchihas into the rest of Konoha. Instead of being a Uchiha only police force, discuss ways to expand and allow others to join. So then shinobi can choose between anbu and police force or jonin and police force. It would be a long, arduous and painstaking process but it would at the very least buy time and if everything worked out somehow, lead to an even stronger Konoha. There are arguments that the Uchiha weren't going to settle for pretty words(most people wouldn't) so Hiruzen had to set an example. None of that "I'm too old for the job" bs. Come on. You've got 6, 7, 8 year olds becoming shinobi but no one's thinking about how they're probably too young for that shit. I could rant for days but basically it was ultimately a decision that should have never fallen onto Itachi's young shoulders in the first place but he went through with what he as an emotionally scarred messed up 13 year old believed to be the path that led to the least amount of suffering for konoha in the long run. Older and more experienced Itachi later recognizes it may not have been the right choice however he had to deal with the consequences (them being sasuke's misguided hatred, trauma, and all his other issues and leaving Konoha weakened since some sharingan and more manpower might've come in handy for the war) ... whoa that was a lot
In my opinion Itachi is one of the most Unique, Authentic and Influential characters from the series. More precisly, Itachi isn't just any ordinary Shinobi also, he pretty much knows and he's also aware that all strong opponents have weaknesses (including himself), and he specializes in finding those "weaknesses" and exploiting them ("*Even the strongest of opponents always has a weakness*" - Uchiha Itachi) because he's that type of character who can exceed almost any expectations. To add to all of this, Itachi is pretty good at hand to hand combat(his Taijutsu it's exceptional and underrated) is great with shuriken, is extremely fast, is great with regular fire techniques, is slippery and unpredictable, and has the extremely dangerous and fast Genjutsu style of fighting approach that can caught you off guard almost at any time. 🤷🏻♂️ ☯️
As much as I love itachi and understand the sacrifice he did for the world, I watched a video that made it clearer that itachi wasn't in control or knowledgeable about everything. He didn't kill the clan as part of a master plan towards peace, he made a decision in the moment that he _thought_ would save the village. A decision I think he regretted everyday after that. I think he the. Took all that regret and poured it into making Sasuke a beacon of light for the rebirth of the Uchiha.
By the way does nobody will question how itachi even got the totsuka blade and yata mirror into his susanoo in the firat place while other susanoo(except kakashi/obito) has normal generic high damaging weapons, i am generally curious about this.
@@ANONYMOUS-wc5fq yes i said that in my comment, i know he has kamui shuriken but the question is why is itachi weapons are both consider to be mythical weapons but also has nothing to do with his mangekyo abilities.
Definitely my favorite character with one of the most f up sad story. I really wish they show his abilities at 100% just to see how powerful he is but damn I did love the fan Manga they did where he fought Nagato. You just earned a sub with this video my man, definitely great informations for those who don't know about Itachi.
@@Lore-gt5rh didn't say he wouldn't or he would because we never saw neither of them at their full power when they are both healthy. I honestly love them both but when it comes to careful calculations on the battlefield I say Itachi out smarts Nagato. Besides he was the one to help Bee and Naruto stop the planetary jutsu after they were reincarnated. It would definitely be one heck of a battle indeed.
A little correction for sure so far, kakashi was never caught in the genjutsu he says specifically “everyone but me was suddenly hit with a genjutsu and it took a while to release them all". Tenma and itachi were never actually friends, tenma still absolutely hated his guts to his death, itachi awoke his sharingan not from his friends death, but from his intense sense of failure of stoping his life from being taken. Also just to clarify for everyone, mikoto attempted to help itachi and sasuke but didn’t know about the debris hurtling at them so itachi throws sasuke into her arms and channels chakra into his fist the same way that tsunade and Sakura do and that’s how it got smashed into pieces. Then his mom goes to congratulate him but he says something along the lines of this isn’t the time or place.
Just as an additional clarification-- the anime modified some events. In the anime, Itachi considered his teammates as his friends before Tenma died. In the novels, this wasn't explicitly said, he just thinks that he was weak so he couldn't stop Obito. Itachi froze in fear in the novel when Obito showed up. The same goes with Izumi's death. The anime implied that Obito killed her. In the novel, she was the first person that Itachi killed in the massacre. Also, I'm assuming it's because of Obito's dialogue in the past of Itachi "killing his lover" but that was literally never stated in the novel (someone also asked Kishi about this 'lover' in the past, and he didn't even remember he wrote that dialogue lol). Itachi knew about Izumi's feelings but wasn't interested, and was bothered whenever Shisui would tease him about it. As a parting gift I guess, Itachi used Tsukuyomi on her to show the life that they could have lived (if Itachi eventually liked her back) and before she died, he thanked her for liking someone like him.
@@haydenself2182 yeah there is more that I'm sure is a bit off probably not because hes full wrong about it but it's possible he just misremembered slightly or whatever, i knew this stuff exactly the way it happened because i just read bright light that same day the video released
@@pearlofivris in the book it implies itachi sees tenma as a bit of a hindrance to the team because of his unwillingness to ever cooperate and how he always rushes ahead and almost screws things up. Also when shisui teases itachi about izumi, itachi thinks about how he feels about her he states hes not quite sure if he feels that way about her but he does feel at the least she is a good friend.
Something I theorized about itachi’s susanoo, you can see his bright yellow susanoo covered by a red armor hiding the brighter color of his susanoo which usually equates to positivity, Theory 1: After the Uchiha massacre and everything that had happened, itachi’s heart had locked away its previous positivity which we can see play out. Theory 2: After the massacre and everything, Those who cared about itachi (aside from the Akatsuki, shisui and danzo ) had felt betrayed due to the Uchiha massacre, They hated itachi which lead to his positivity being outcasted by the hate for everyone he had killed and the people who cared about itachi. Personally I think theory 1 is more likely. It could be that the armor is an aesthetic choice but basically every other single susanoo we’ve ever seen with proper armor, had the same color as it’s usual appearance.
@NCHammer23 Man you are really a great story teller. I’ve watched all of these episodes probably 10 times in the past. You told the story so well it felt like I was learning it all for the first time. Really took me back! Appreciate the hard work you put into your content !
Orochimaru searched for the totsuka blade his entire life, its IMPLIED he was searching specificly for itachis totsuka blade since he even knew the abilities of the sword but not its apearance. its also STATED that both the totsuka blade and yata mirror are ETHERIAL weapons and so there not part of itachis sousano (soul manifistation). itachi must have found them somewere, i beilive their closely tied to the otsutsuki.
i dont agree with this because tostuka blade and yata mirror wouldn't be tied to the otsutsuki not everything is tied to them so id say itachi was given the power just like amaterasu was passed down to sasuke so i think it was passed down
@@WorldsStrongest- passed down lol... What.. Then sasuke would have them goof.... He had to. Have found them..... They didn't just come with his susanoo.... No other susanoo has weapons like that... Except for the generic ones that come with every susanoo
@@TheTonytone77 sasuke has the arrow they all have different weapons depending on who you are no one else has a weapon besides a sword madara only has a sword kakashi had kamui shrinking those people have different weapons depending on the susanno so id say someone passedit down to him not saying sasuke woulda got it I'm saying its just like how sasuke got the black flames
Dude, nobody, including the “hard itachi fan/ stans” understand or know how powerful itachi actually is. I always have to explain all this shit. Thanks to you, i can just link a video and it will be over in a fewy seconds.
My questions has always been...why kill the children though, like they wer the innocent Uchihas. I mean in the peace treaty with the Frost nation he wanted to spare the innocent that werent involved with the killing of the Konoha representatives, however with the Uchiha clan all of that goes out the window?
To me if itachi didn’t have his incurable illness he wouldve been the strongest character just his IQ alone was amazing even after his death he was a menace
This is gonna be my first video to hit 1 million I have to get an itachi tattoo now
Only one like
What's the background music name, please??

You deserve it bro good job
Tsukuyomi activated hehehehe btw you are welcome
The part when itachi put his essentially girlfriend in a genjitsu. that had them have the live he wished he could have with her. Was probably the most heartbreaking part of his story.
That' what the ifinite tsukuyomi does too

Itachi si literally a package of Japanese Gods.
I was stunned when I found out. Kishimoto truly made a masterpiece
So how’d he obtain the ability to use the mirror and sword
My 13year old-self admittedly fell in love with Itachi the first time he appeared in the Manga
I find it funny that Itachi finds Obito and goes, "Hey, you're the guy who almost killed me. Wanna help me massacre our clan?"

And this man obito just picking up eyeballs
Facts and he did all that using his own powers. Can't imagine how op he would be if he had the perfect susano.
Yep Itachi by far THE STRONGEST... apart from Might Guy haha
Lmao only in your dreams itachi can beat madara.Madara is old school has more knowledge than itachi..put the crack pipe down
Itachi would have been the greatest Hokage no doubt

As much as Itachi sees the clan as "selfish" they were completely justified in how they felt and acted.
I was always thinking that. Glad someone thinks similarly
FINALLY ppl glorify him & he turned his back on his own clan even killing innocent kids & his gf who wasnt even apart of the coup. He’s strong but that’s it.
I mean there’s definitely arguments for both sides
Wow now that you put it that way it makes it even more tragic
"The clan! The clan!

Its written to make money for Kishomoto. Edgy cooless fans love Itachi . If you tell me Itachi is your favorite i know you are boring
Obito was always late and hurrying to places, so he gained space time ninjutsu with his kamui.
what about sasuke's crossbow?
Having grown up watching subbed Naruto from the age of 10, waiting weekly for new eps, I feel like I missed and didn’t understand so much of the story. Now since time has passed, I have forgotten so many plot points and character interactions. Thank you so much for the careful and digestible account of Itachi’s character and also adding in all the information about Japanese mythology ✨
Itachi was basically Batman
In a worst case scenario, the Uchiha really could have just left the village, instead of waging war with it. Ideally, they should have put their faith in the next generation of Uchiha, and in turn members like Shushui and Itachi would have gotten them the respect they wanted. Both Danzo and Hiruzen liked Itachi and they don't agree on anything. He was pretty much guaranteed to be the next Hokage. Even Fugaku admitted it in the end.
Leaving is desertion, it would be seen as treason. Also, where would they go? Start their own village and be a rival to the leaf?
It would probably make matters worst. Because if the leave the village, Konoha would see it as treason especially if other villages adopt them to make them fight against Konoha seeing they already have hatred against the people running the village. They would be easily controlled by other villages into possibly invading Konoha.
Why leave what they rightfully have bled to protect? They were literally being discriminated against.
Thats like African Americans fighting for the US in WW2 just to come home and get put in concentration camps. Should they just leave America? Itachi was just a race traitor
Yeah they treat missing-nin well, right?
Itachi and Shizui could have just put Fugaku and everyone else who hated the village into a genjutsu to make them more understanding. Then they could just work together, and eventually Itachi would likely be a Hokage. That would have saved a lot of conflict, but eliminated half of the plot so I can see why they didn't do that.

How about Obito's Kamui, what does that represent? I wanna know because that's an interesting theory. (Could be factual tho)

the uchiha may have still been alive if they choose to just make their own village instead of choosing to take over the leaf because then itachi and shisui wouldn't have a reason to turn against them
I think some distant Uchiha sort of did that?
U do realize the senju and uchiha literally created the village hidden in the leaves madara is the one who even came up with the name for it

Itachi was not to smart in hindsight, he should have took a hint after what they did to Shisui.
he was forced to choose between two evils. he wasn't strong enough to stop certain things that were already in motion by the time he was forced to make a decision. instead he opted to save the village from another civil war in the hopes it would allow Sasuke to live a better life later on. although it was going to be pretty shit without his family, this would stop Sasuke from having to see real war and potentially death. it basically saved Sasuke, and gave him a noble cause to aspire too, in reclaiming honor and glory by defeating Itachi later. all in all, pretty smart decision in a terrible situation with two horrible potential outcomes.

His Weapons are an Unstoppable force and a Immovable object
I literally heard this story more than once already and im still cool with it!
Who knew Fugaku and Minato were so naughty? 🤭
I love people who have fun with their nails and try out something new.
In my opinion Itachi is one of the most Unique, Authentic and Influential characters from the series.
Basically what this video said
By the way does nobody will question how itachi even got the totsuka blade and yata mirror into his susanoo in the firat place while other susanoo(except kakashi/obito) has normal generic high damaging weapons, i am generally curious about this.
Doesn’t Kakashi’s sussano also has kamui shruikern?
@@ANONYMOUS-wc5fq yes i said that in my comment, i know he has kamui shuriken but the question is why is itachi weapons are both consider to be mythical weapons but also has nothing to do with his mangekyo abilities.
My favorite character in all of Anime, I enjoyed every minute of this. Thank you
Itachi: "Hey, Madara. You hate our village and our clan for turning their backs on you.. wanna kill em all?"
Obito-Madara: "bet."
This was beautiful! Really appreciate your efforts and the mind boggling depth of Naruto
Definitely my favorite character with one of the most f up sad story. I really wish they show his abilities at 100% just to see how powerful he is but damn I did love the fan Manga they did where he fought Nagato. You just earned a sub with this video my man, definitely great informations for those who don't know about Itachi.
Nagato would beat his ass😭
@@Lore-gt5rh didn't say he wouldn't or he would because we never saw neither of them at their full power when they are both healthy. I honestly love them both but when it comes to careful calculations on the battlefield I say Itachi out smarts Nagato. Besides he was the one to help Bee and Naruto stop the planetary jutsu after they were reincarnated. It would definitely be one heck of a battle indeed.
@@herdouacheng05 out smarting nagato doesn’t really mean anything. He’s still getting chopped up
@@Lore-gt5rh yes it does matter and no he's not getting chopped. I guess you must have forgotten it was Itachi himself who sealed Nagato away.
@@herdouacheng05 that’s just a way to say he’d lose pretty fast. Itachi sealing nagato is no feat
This actually changes greatly some of the points made in the video and really shows itachi at his most complete self
No mikoto never attempted to break that boulder
We need, “you know nothing about Ton Ton!”
@NCHammer23
Man you are really a great story teller. I’ve watched all of these episodes probably 10 times in the past. You told the story so well it felt like I was learning it all for the first time. Really took me back! Appreciate the hard work you put into your content !
Orochimaru searched for the totsuka blade his entire life, its IMPLIED he was searching specificly for itachis totsuka blade since he even knew the abilities of the sword but not its apearance. its also STATED that both the totsuka blade and yata mirror are ETHERIAL weapons and so there not part of itachis sousano (soul manifistation). itachi must have found them somewere, i beilive their closely tied to the otsutsuki.
i dont agree with this because tostuka blade and yata mirror wouldn't be tied to the otsutsuki not everything is tied to them so id say itachi was given the power just like amaterasu was passed down to sasuke so i think it was passed down
@@WorldsStrongest- my guy i literally just explained why that is not possible.
@@neos5432 but like Amaterasu was transferred so it could be possible
@@WorldsStrongest- passed down lol... What.. Then sasuke would have them goof.... He had to. Have found them..... They didn't just come with his susanoo.... No other susanoo has weapons like that... Except for the generic ones that come with every susanoo

This is the most comprehensive video about Itachi's background
this is the best Itachi video ever explains so much about him, thank you.
Yeah... Finite Tsukuyomi on Izumi
