For the record, i own this with the Gamedac. This does 100 percent work
on xbox one S. As long as the controller has a 3.5mm jack. However, you
must connect the PRO headphones directly to the xbox controller and then
you can speak and hear. Just do not use the DAC. Sound is clear, party
chat is clear and the other people can hear me well.

I haven’t had any issue with it on my PS4, you have to update the software on it to use its own type of “dac “ on console. But I’m sure on PC it works great if you are trying to spend less than 100. But I’d say go for these if you want to pay below 200 or upwards of 100. These will prob be my next purchase for headphones once my hyperx cloud 2 get to old! Hope this helps you in some way!!

I bought this headphones about 3 months ago and LOVE them. This is the best headphones I EVER had. THE DAC is also really cool. Some say you can't get the high volume.. oh YES you can. use the dac and move all on the equalizer to the top.. it so loud you can't stand it! super loud! and I love that on the left headphone, there is the wheel... to turn the volume up or down. On TH-cam I have all volume maxed out......and this way if something is too loud, I just use my wheel. PERFECT. You can't go wrong with these. The lights are cool, you can change them to a few different colors.. red, green, yellow and maybe another. I have mine on green with the mic on red. The headphone quality is very good, the sounds are great. The Dac is VERY VERY VERY COOL! Get it, you won't be sorry. I will never use another headset.. this is for me!

you should make clear that it doesnt matter what your motherboard supports if you plug in usb without dac. Doing that bypasses any onboard sound chip your board may have and uses the headset's own amp, which is rather lackluster. If you plug into analog 3.5mm jack then you do get your motherboards sound chip usage, but then you dont get rgb effects and no DTS HEADPHONE:X V2 is available through 3.5mm. Thats a pretty major difference for both music and games and makes the dac much more worthwile. I had initially listened to your review and got the no dac version. Took me a couple days to figure out what was going on and luckily was able to exchange at microcenter for a dac version without losing money. Its much better and feels like the whole package. At moment both your videos concerning arctis pro non dac are extremely misleading.

For anyone still buying these headphones in 2021, Look up Arctis Pro +
Gamedac breaking just on google. The hinge points where it connects the
ear cup to the band is extremely weak and after going through 3 of these
headsets now they keep constantly breaking in the exact same spot as
those that also saw the same problem. Avoid buying these and buy a

From my research and finding you can use the hi-res with the PS4 and the PS4 pro because you need the digital optical cable option. Most of The PS4 slims do not have an optical port on the back therefore you can’t use hi-res with PS4 slim. However if you do have one of the other options like the PS4 or pro then hi-ReS should work no problem. My artcis pro’a are currently being shipped and I’ve been doing lots of info surfing. I’m not entirely certain if your PS4 is a messed up as it is definitely supposed to work with the optical cable. I will be editing this comment once I get my arctis pro headset with gamedac to give an update on this information.

    • @TheTechne

    • @kilo1933
      @kilo1933 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Ok I have done some testing but it’s not ideal results, my hi-ReS option lights up on PS4... BUT I have to plug it into the optical port on my TV and I sit a bit farther away from my TV when I game. Also In the actual sound tests I’ve done within the past 2 days it’s not completely necessary to use hi-ReS on PS4. Is it a nice feature? OFC it is lol but I don’t have a hard time hearing game sounds such as footsteps on MW and apex and such. It does sound clearer and more crisp with the hi-ReS but I don’t feel it’s detrimental to gameplay without it. I’m not sure if you’ve tried the optical port on your TV or monitor but try that and maybe it might work. Either way I am definitely a happy customer with steelseries and would definitely recommend the arctis pro with DAC for anyone looking to upgrade your gaming experience. I do wish they would work with both the PS4 optical port as well as my TV port but all in all a very good choice of headset.
ALSO it may just be my TV that allows my Hi-ReS setting to work... not entirely sure tbh

Having used all 3 before I dropped the cash there is no way I will ever go back to wired. The high res sound is not enough of an upgrade for me when put up against having no wire at all. Hell after a few days I am not even sure I really heard much of a difference anyway. But I damn sure can tell the difference when I am sitting on the couch watching a movie with no wires to deal with or walking around the house listening to some music as I go about my day. And that is not to even mention bluetooth that lets me take them outside with my phone.

I just received my pair of Wired Arctis Pro's + Gamedac and I do love the audio quality and customization. BUT, one thing I am pretty upset with is the comfortability of the headset. It fits fairly comfortably until about after the first hour of usage I noticed my ear was becoming sore. Figured it was just my ear and kept using them through the weekend and much to my dismay it became apparent that the earpads of the headset were the problem for me. They seem to not create enough space between my ear and the wall of the headset or maybe I just have odd shaped ears for the design of the cup. However, my Corsair Void Pro's never had this problem so this is a bit of a let down. I have ordered new earpads and hopefully when I swap those out this headset will be all that I dreamed of it being if not I'm not sure that I'll end up keeping it unless I can find a solution for this problem.

From watching your video I understood that there is not a difference in sound quality, and that they’re both very good headsets. Regarding my setup, I’m not a huge fan of wires all around the place, so I would much prefer if I could connect the headset straight to my controller. Is that possible with the Arctis Pro? If you haven't got them yet one thing to consider is the volume wheels. I had the artics 7 which is just the 5 but wireless ( which means poorer audio quality) and the two volume wheels are VERY sensitive and made it extremely annoying. Everytime I adjusted the headset the volume would also adjust wildly. I would suggest a pair of gsp 300 from sennheiser or the artics pro. The pro solves the volume wheel problem though. I currently use the gsp 500 and the artic pro wireless and I prefer the sound quality of the 500 but the artics is more comfortable.
