      Yes, this works, but its kind of odd and difficult to explain without people having never tried them. I use these on PC and when I switch to my phone, it brings the game audio WAY down while my phone is putting out audio, then it shoots the game audio way back up when it ends. I'm not sure if it's different on console or if there's a setting I'm missing, but its a little goofy when I've tried it

    • @markreninger7231
      @markreninger7231 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @@Hoserzzz if you press down on the volume wheel on the headset it toggles between menus. There's a mixer bar that you can adjust thats one volume click over from the master volume adjuster. It should show a line with a controller on one side and another icon on the other. I totally forget what the other icon is but it adjusts the volume mixer between game volume and phone volume. The game volume being on the right and phone on the left.

    FYI the other headsets iv used in the past were
    -turtle beach px24 (didn’t even last a week the build quality was terrible)
    -PlayStation gold (very good headset for the casual PS4 player, you can also go a bit further and get the platinum if you feel like it. There’s not significant difference between the two)
    -Razer Kraken Pro V1 ( decent sound and mic but very uncomfortable)
    -Razer Kraken Pro V2 ( I would recommend these if you prefer using wired headsets as they were very good in sound and mic and also quite comfy, only problem was the thing that goes around the top of your head would get uncomfortable sometimes)

    I’ve had mine since September 2018, and I love them 😍 replaced my Turtlebeach Elite that I had forever (but they went bad). My boyfriend has the Astro A50 and I tried them but I didn’t like them since I think everything sounds muffled and I like clean and clear sound. When we’re playing together I always hear footsteps/gunshots etc before him. The Steelseries Arctis Pro Wireless is a headset that I can actually listen to music too and enjoy without getting annoyed of muffled/noisy/weirdly balanced audio. So they’ve become my headset that I use for everything when I’m at home. They’re also extremely comfortable, almost feel like they’re floating on my head and I’ve been wearing them for hours and hours on end without feeling any pressure points!

      I’ve had my Astro A40 TR’S for close to 4 years and they’ve been great. However that doesn’t mean they don’t have their problems. Not even 2 days into me having them the mechanism that locks the mic into place broke on both sides meaning my mic would never stay in place. My solution was to tape the mic into place as I was 14 when I got them and didn’t exactly have the money to get a new one. I’m 18 now and I’ve since gotten the X Edition headset and replaced the old one but I’m still using the same Mixamp Pro from 4 years ago. As far as the mixamp goes, it still works like new but that doesn’t mean there aren’t things that annoy me about the headset. Possibly the biggest problem I have with the headset is that even when my mic is muted, some sound still gets through and I can still be heard when muted although it’s very muffled compared to unmuted. This is a problem that I’ve had since I got them 4 years ago. The other thing I notice too is that if I have music or a video playing my friends can hear it almost as if I’m streaming it to them. Finally my last problem is the quality of the microphone, you’d think paying the premium price of $250 for both mixamp and headset would give you a decent sounding mic but it doesn’t. My friends with either Razer Krakens or any headset around that price range have better sounding mics and it’s quite embarking considering the Astro’s are 3-4 times the price. As far as the muffled sound quality that you spoke of in the video, I personally don’t notice it but that is most likely due to the fact that this is the only headset I’ve used for 4 years. This video has definitely made me consider switching to the Arctis Pros just the only bad part is that $300+ price tag.

    It actually works on the Xbox One (quite well too I might add). The Xbox also allows you to download the Dolby or DTS apps to increase the sound quality further. So this, in my opinion, is why the Steelseries arctis pro wireless is the best headset: it's literally compatible with everything (consoles, pc and Bluetooth devices). That's why I think the price is justified. You'd just need the one headset and it will work with all of your devices. Most other gaming headsets (especially wireless ones) won't do that.

    Bought mine before seeing this video. Had the Wired pros for a while, but they broke. Went back to my tried and true A40s. Would have stayed with those until they broke, but wired just became unbearable. Loved the Pros, wanted wireless, and extra battery looked enticing. The price seemed steep, and completely agree with your assessment. If you can scrape up the funds for these you won't regret it. Sound is great, batteries (even though swappable) last long, and current battery/ charging battery level is nice to know.

      Hey man! Thanks a lot for that info! I've just got the Pro Wireless and I was wondering if I could use them with the DAC someday in the future. I don't want to be always attached to a wire but I also want to have the best audio fidelity sometimes. I have two questions if you don't mind. With the Pro Wireless connected to the DAC, can you still use the control volume on the headset or you have to go to the control volume on the DAC? And second, with the Wireless Pro you have a little bit of white noise (that's the wireless handicap always). Does this noise disappear if you connect the headset with the DAC? Or the DAC itself make some noise? Thanks a lot for your time!! Kind regards from Spain

    You think the SteelSeries Arctis Wireless Pro better than HyperX Cloud Orbit S?

    • @NyteStalker89
      @NyteStalker89 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Considering the Orbit S isn't wireless at around the same cost, I'd take AWP. Pretty decent sound and lovely dual wireless ability with the bluetooth built in. The biggest advantage the Orbit S has is that its a rebranded Audeze headset which sounds superior with its Planar Magnetic drivers. Build quality is kinda the same. Orbit feels more solid. Honestly, if you'd opt for a wired headset, save a ton of money and get something like a first gen Vmoda Crossfade wireless with their Boom pro mic making it wired and a DAC/AMP like the shiit Hel. Headset + Mic + dac = roughly the same cost and sounds ten times better in everything. Stereo is better than surround sound for gaming. hands down. Don't waste money on 5.1 or 7.1 headsets. Its software gimmicks that actually destroy audio quality.

Now if you don’t have a 3.5 mm jack on your tv but have optical audio then you will need an optical audio to 3.5 mm converter then just follow the same steps from before.

    I think you're confusing frequency response and sampling rate. In digital audio the 24 bit 96kHz means you have 24 bit depth samples 96,000 times a second. The frequency response 10-40kHz means at the end, after going through the whole system, it can recreate sounds in those frequencies. In fact, in order to create a sound at a given frequency you need 2 samples. This is the Shannon sampling theorem. So 24 bit audio samples 48kHz can recreate up to 24kHz signals.

    Need some opinions here. I recently got the arctis pro wireless and am playing on my ps4. I am an AVID rainbow six player and this was one of my main reasons for going with this specific headset as I wanted the absolute best advantage I could get when playing r6s. So far I am very pleased with the results this headset has yielded as I have been testing it out for the better part of 10 days now. The one thing I’m still trying to figure out is what are the ABSOLUTE best EQ settings for a game specifically like rainbow?? My ears are very aptitude to sounds as I am a musician, so I can pick out different sounds well but even then I’m still struggling to find what the best EQ set up would be. There are 5 EQ settings on this doc, and to my knowledge from left to right you are adjusting 1st EQ being lowest frequency bass sounds - 3rd Eq being mid frequency sounds- and 5th Eq being your highest frequency treble sounds. Each of the 5 eq settings can either be adjusted Up or down +6 or - 6 clicks from the base setting being +-0. What I’m finding is that for a game like rainbow to possibly keep your lower frequency bass sounds at a mid level while keeping the treble sounds at a higher level. My settings currently sit at from left to right I’m at +3,+2,+2,+4,+5. Each digit being a single click on the doc dial. This, to my ears, is allowing me to hear less of these large explosions and deep bass noises and allowing more of the minuscule (FOOTSTEPS) treble noises to be the main sounds I’m hearing. Which ultimately I’m trying to achieve the footsteps and small scale noises to be the dominant sounds coming through my headset. With all of this being said can anyone give their takes on the best +/- EQ settings for the 5Eqs on the steel series arctis pro wireless, mainly for a FPS like R6S? Thank you all for reading I really hope to get some feedback and get the most out of this headset!!!!

    I have P800, basically the older version of this, with rounded earcups and no bluetooth. Has been serving me basically flawlessly since I got it. They cost me 300 euros back in the day and it was worth every cent! If I ever need new ones, the Pro Wireless is my choice.

    I truly "enjoyed" the SS Arctis Pro Wireless for a 4 months period. I would highly recommend anyone considering buying the headset, do a Reddit search on the faulty transmitter and start reading horror stories :-) The customer service is very poor at SS and I wish I had done the Reddit research prior to spending 350 EUR bucks on a "premium" headset. False hopes of a 1-year warranty - can't stop making a comparison to Xbox famous "Red Ring of Death" - if you were one of the "lucky" ones you were literally screwed.

Beats Studio 3, Bose 700 & turtle beach stealth 700 all had problems. I have just purchased the Steel Arctis Pro after seeing you review...fingers crossed. thank you.

    I got my pro wireless about 2 months ago after I had bought the turtle beach 600 gen 2s and thought they were great. My buddy said they were trash. So I bought the steel series arctis 7s which were a great improvement but wasn't satisfied so I sold those and bought a pair of Astro A50s and I had some trouble with the connection so those are sitting ins drawer. Then I bought corsair HS80s and they were by far the best headset so far. But then I had the opportunity to buy the pro wireless for 60 bucks brand new and couldn't pass up the deal. From a place that buys Amazon returns on pallets that's why they were cheap but they were brand new. Since then I don't think I can ever go back to anything else they sound amazing there comfortable and the extra batteries.... But they are the best pair of headphones I've ever owned. I'm lucky I guess but now I have 5 headsets floating around my house that are never going to be used 😐

    the only thing I wish they did better with the pro wireless is Sound isolation to prevent sound leakage, have the headphones are 5% volume and put music on to test out and with the headset cupped over an object like it would your head, you can still hear the audio fairly well when stood away from the headset.

    Just ordered these. I hope they’re worth it! The idea of swappable batteries is inspired - last thing I’d want is to spend this much on a headset just for the battery to go bad after a year or so.

    It is definitely worth it. I just bought it an hour ago and it blew my mind it terms of comfort, build quality etc. it truly is amazing and I do not mind throwing down the extra expense if it’s everything I want but more lol plus I’d rather spend $300 for a headset I’ll love for 3-5 years than spend $100 constantly on shit I’ll hate

    I have had mine for around 1.5 years and I must say also because I can see I am not the only one with this problem. be very carefull with the left cup, it tends to break around where it is connected to the headband bar something. I have in no way shape or form been rough with my headset and it just broke after some time, never even dropped it.

    The only negative point i have with the acrtis wireless pro are the earpads. They're a little on the small side even for normal sized ears. After long gaming sessions you'll start to feel pain on the places where your ear touches the hard inside speakers of the headphones. There is a solution to this problem and that is by buying replacement earpads from wickedcushions or brainwavz. They're around 20-30€ for a pair and are quite a bit larger so the speakers don't make contact with your ears anymore.
    If you spend the money to get this headset i would definitely recommend spending just a little bit more to get new earpads for them. It turns the product from a 9/10 to a 10/10 in my opinion.

    I was hesitent to order the arctis pro wireless for $200 because of how its not high res (16 bit, 48 khz). But now that you siad I wwould hardly notice the difference - I just ordered the headset. I have the nova 7s and they heurt my ears because the cups are too small. I 'm hoping these headphones will be be more comfortable for me. Thanks!

    Really appreciate you reviewing these headset..I, infact, just finished up watching your 'wired' video before watching this one. I sit wearing the Corsair Virtuoso's - I recently purchased these for Black Friday as I've been in the Market for a new set for some time - I'm not too thrilled with the ones i have now because they're not Bluetooth but also I would have thought thee sound would be better. Dont get me wrong, the design is gorgeous, i love the removable mic, the quality is premium but I'm not a fan of the circular or round ear cups, dont like the faux leather which leaves my ears sweaty, and I cannot stand the fact that I cannot connect via blutooth to other devices! Like you, side tone or Mic monitoring, is extremely important for me. I've been hard-pressed in finding a decent set that allows me to adjust the side tone volume. The Corsairs that i have do have mic monitoring but it's so faint you can barely hear yourself and unlike you i would probably enjoy the highest setting of mic monitoring - probably because i love hearing myself talk ;) You mentioned there are three settings on the Arctics - low , med, and hi i presume? I will eventually take these back to exchange because I just can't get past the so-so sound quality, low side tone, no blutooth connection, and/or sweaty ear cups. Not so sure i'll go with the Pro wireless' - if money weren't an option I probably certainly would but my goodness - Those headsets or even more than BOSE Quietcomforts and I cannot abide it!

    Hello! I don't know if you'll be able to see this but I'm actually planning on buying this for gaming and work, so I am curious as how it's performing in the long run? How long have you had it so far and is it still performing well? I'm sorry for the questions but this is really promising. Thank you for the awesome review :>
