  • Things spiral out of control when a simple engine swap becomes a complete teardown on our 1970 Chevy Nova junkyard rescue project car. Watch us remove the original burnt engine/trans, remove the vinyl top, and put the body on a body cart. Make sure to let me know in the comments what you would do with this car if it was yours.

I didn't know you could remove the whole front end together like that, you got a link/video/explanation on the process?

Unfortunately I don’t. Super easy tho. Only need to undue the two rad support bolts to subframe, and I believe 10 (5 on each side) 9/16 bolts that hold fenders to the cowl. Then with two guys the entire front clip comes off as 1 piece.

new subscriber Back rear pillar pastor side of your roof and appears to be where they seamed the roof together at the factory. Your car except for being rougher than mine looks like mine did back in 1985! Except for mine to 74 hatchback maybe it's 73 I don't remember now. The part you took off is what I took off and trade it for some Ford mustang parts. I build a mustang at the time. I took the engine out and put it in a little bit newer Omega that a friend on here then I put the Nova in the barn. I thought about buying the pieces and at least making it a roller. But I'm into another project or two. So I will watch you and see how it goes with your Novas.

Make some good rust repair videos. Or leave as is. Or junk it. Tough decisions

I definitely won’t junk it but I am still deciding how far I want to go repairing it. Decisions……decisions……
