This was a great video and I hope you keep doing them. I watched you build the 55 with Alex and thought it would be great if you had your own channel.Thank you for sharing this video.
My favorite TH-cam content is long form technical content. I know that may not garner the numbers that the entertainment side does but I’d rather sit through an hour or longer video learning than I would just watch some clickbait type entertainment stuff.
Just be yourself, PLEASE! The best channels are where everyone is just going about their day/work and allowing us the privilege of observing. Naturally the first few videos will be awkward as you settle into the routine of talking to the camera so don't sweat it. The fact is, even though you haven't had a channel of your own, you probably have spent more time being watched on TH-cam than most dedicated content creators already. Keep doing what you have always done and let Meg sort it out in editing later.
Dennis, mom, and Alex all contribute EQUALLY. Dennis is chassis and body, along with mom when it comes to laying carbon fiber, Dennis and Alex build the engines, and Alex does all the wiring and tuning
Dennis had the easy part in making Alex and no mom gets the easy part in a racing family Mrs Taylor is probably a better fabricator and mechanic than most
FINALLY! I've been following you and Alex for years. Always real and honest with no BS. Love the tech and the builds. Whatever you decide to do this channel will be a huge success!
After watching the video, every person who is new to building cars needs to be watching these videos. Seeing you go through the thought process of how you decide to make things the way you do will be gold for anyone who has no idea who to get started in figuring out who to make things work together. There is no other channel that I've come across where people can see not only see the building of the car, but the thought process behind it, step by step from someone with decades of experience building high end cars.
Gotta support the cool guy that makes Alex Taylor look good on the track. The tech guy that contributed to Alex's success in the racing industry. Your the backbone of the operation. Good job cool Father! Please 🥺 keep up with the videos as best you can, they are very appreciated. Great video 📸. Thanks.
Don't bend to what people want. Just do you. With Alex being hit or miss on videos, it'll be nice to have content on your stuff. You're a big reason Alex is who she is.
Wow this is great Dennis. Seems like not long ago you didn't even want Alex filming you let alone speak to the camera!! Debbie, great job with the camera and support as well !!! Congrats Dennis and Debbie, you have have a phenomenal FAMILY.
Now we know where Alex gets her no-nonsense style in front of the camera! You're a natural, Dennis, and so is she! This channel will be a huge hit! I just don't know how you and Alex get so much done! I'll look forward to future episodes. The big green 55 is one sweet car!
This channel is going to consume a lot of my time. Love how informative, and old school you are with your builds. This channel will be huge. Keep up the awesome content.
One word of advice , You just do you ,as you see fit . You are an exception man . What an example you set from a Dad a Husband , I enjoy the way you carry yourself
Finally another good no BS show!!! None of pulling junk behind the shed which is the same every time!! True engineering which even if I don't understand still going to watch and learn. Congrats to the family. Going to enjoy the ride!!!
Congratulations on your own channel! I am now your number one fan! You know me from following you around like a puppy dog at all the Drag and Drive events. You and Nick have always been so gracious to me teaching me how these cars/engines run and how to tune them. The best part of "Riding with Alex Taylor" to me was you building the car. Now it is all about building the car, the engine. I can't get enough of it.
Keep it just as it is. I love watching people building and fabricating, other channels started like this but then endless product promotions have taken over along with just plain messing about. Good luck with the channel.👍
You’re Alex’s Dad!!! I almost quit Motor Trend when Tony Angelo left the Hot Rod Garage. But!!! Alex and Lucky Costa quickly changed my mind. Lucky is a great in the hot rod community but that daughter of yours is something else. The first time I watched Alex install a line lock I was hooked on the show. Besides that, Alex has grown up in a “racing family”, that girl knows the ins and outs of engine/suspension combinations, and it’s great to see that from my perspective. Alex is not “fluff” to watch on a channel. Thank you for raising such a solid human being. I love watching the channel. I always go away learning something.
Thank You for sharing this video, Please allow your wife to say more stuff, even if it ain't HotRod talk, If she's there she should have some say... I really liked the whole family at Bonnieville episodes , Congratulations to everybody at team Taylor...
Dennis you are a very good speaker, providing excellent tutorials. You are great. Just show everything, but keep it honest and informative as you usually do with Alex. BTW, you are also a great DAD,
You’re what every hot rodder wants to be but few make it!! You’re doing what you love with the ones you love!! Absolutely awe inspiring!! Great 1st episode as well!!!
Yay! Glad to see you on the Tube Dennis!!! As far as content goes id say just be you.. everyone will enjoy your projects, your attention to detail and your knowledge of all things Hot Rodding..
Jump in, the waters fine! Glad to have another great '55 Chevy channel with how you do stuff too! Looking forward to learning some stuff along the way. Welcome aboard Dennis!
Welcome Dennis! Top of my head ideas….Car car profiles(55, Nova, cab over, Willy’s, etc.) history of your fiberglass business, fiberglass/carbon fiber best practices, engine builds/tech, fab ideas/considerations, etc. Looking forward to it!
I don't think we're ready for the brain of DT 😁🙌 Seriously!!! Dennis you are a mind of cool fabrication and engineering. Seeing you start the 55 build with Alex was awesome. With you and Debbie all getting busy building cool stuff and Megan filming this with be so good.
Dude rad.. I'm glad you are joining this TH-cam world. There is a HUGE appetite for car stuff, we are mad for cars. Word to the wise to you, please do not get discouraged by the hate. Do not respond to the hate period, if you can do that you will be successful. If you feed into the hate and get your feeling all bunched up, you will flame out. I look forward to your content. Thank you.
Been watching since the day Alex dragged the 55 from behind the shop. I have enjoyed watching you build that car and watching y'all race it. I am so glad you have decided to start your own channel and give us the why and how you do things. I think you are one of the best fabricators I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Don't worry about the length of your videos. I would bet that everyone who subscribes to your channel would like them to be longer no matter how long you make them. Oh, and I would like to see some work on the COE too. Thanks Dennis for the access to the inner workings of your mind.
Thank you for going the extra mile creating a channel where the rest of us can attend your class. Idea: could you fabricate an electric clutch similar to an AC compressor to further automate the switch from methanol to gas, so you don’t have to reinstall the drive belt for street operation. You mentioned switching other things off in the tune programming, so this would work the same way. Thanks for class, professor.
This is AWESOME! , I like the long video and great music that’s just loud enough but not drowning you out while talking, teaching us, it’s really hard to explain just how good your TH-cam channel started off, don’t change anything, smash that like button everyone!
It’s about time you’re the rock of this operation. It’s great to see your work all the time and to see you get the credit for the work you’re awesome dude I look forward to watching more of you for sure. Have a great day and thank you for your content.
As soon as I saw the thumbnail I hit subscribe. I think your one of the best hot rod builders out there and your knowledge and skill set are incredible. I can watch you just talk about stuff for hours.
The 64 dollar question!! 🤣 Your channel is gonna do great Dennis! Make TH-cam Great Again! 💪🏻🇺🇲🦅 I also love seeing Queen Meeka strolling around being shop helper! 🥰🐾 Debbie does such a great job between filming and helping when you need more hands. What a family!
I can't believe that it's 6+ years since Alex's "We're Back!!!" video. I've watched every single video put out by her channel and been amazed by the content. Of course a major part of that output has included family and friends - your contribution has been incalculable and I've always been thoroughly impressed by your skillset. And now you bring us "Hot Rods by Dennis Taylor" - I never thought that such a thing would happen but you have finally breathed life into your own channel and I am beyond delighted. Thank you so much and I truly hope that it takes off in a way that makes it worthwhile for you to carry on with it. Thanks again, Dennis - I look forward to many many adventures! Episode ONE was pretty darn good!
I have been watching you guys back before you started the 55. I've quietly hoping you would do your own thing. I couldnt be happier. Do your own thing, we who love you and your family will follow hands down. Love it love it.
Technical. Fabrication. The how and why. Do and don’t. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It is so good to watch someone work at a calm relaxed pace. You and your family are a pleasure to watch. Watching feels like home.
Dennis, you are by far one of the greatest mechanic I've ever seen. I wish I lived near you I'd work for you for free. Thx for having this channel. Keep'em coming
I thought you would be going to Drag Week because .....Alex IS Hot Rod. Bailey is going and bringing 2.0. Love everything you do, could watch for hours. I don't know anyone else who builds everything like you do. I'm just mesmerized seeing your work.
Remain the man who created a wonderful family with your lovely wife. Furthermore, remain the man who taught his family to love the craft of building and racing cars as much as you do.
I love learning new things from extra smart people, Thank you for taking the time to share this valuable information with us. It's like having a friend in a business.
Dennis as a 68 year old motor head watching you content is interesting and informative. You are a master of all things auto! I have been following Alex and glad to see Father and Daughter + family all in it to win it.
HALLELUJAH!!! You're the blessing many of us have been waiting for! This episode has been just as we are there with you, looking over your shoulder and listening to your comments. Thank you, and also your "main man," who is doing such a fine job filming you. Can't wait to see more!
I am super happy to see that this finally has come together. Watching a father mother daughter work together on projects is what keeps me coming back. When I watch you and Alex race together, I can see in both of you that you are very proud of each other.😊😊
Dennis you're a hot rod ICON. I think you'll have a great channel. Remember, haters hate unfortunately you will get those comments don't let them discourage you. Just be yourself and create some great content.
I've been patiently waiting for you to climb on board Dennis... You have an immense bank of knowledge to share with us. ... Can't wait to see what content you tackle...break a leg!
Dennis, Thanks for taking the time today at US131 dragway during day 3 of your week long drag week event. It was a pleasure meeting you and talking with you. Your channel is awesome . Thanks for sharing with all of us . 217mph 🏁🏁🏁!!! Awesome work by you and Alex, and the rest of the team 😁. Mike
You are a dying breed man. U can just see something and build it. I also love that u probably have the money to buy, but u love making things your way. I have worked as a fabricator and a machinist for several years, and u seem as good as any I have worked with. It's also awesome that ur daughter doesn't just set back and drive. She also gets her hands dirty, that's how it should be.
I've always loved watching you design and fabricate on Alex's channel Dennis. You're great at explaining why you approach something the way you do, right or wrong. I feel that's something sorely missing from many of the big and popular channels. Don't ever assume you're boring us. We (well, me at least) are here for the deep dive explanations (like going into your dual rail setup and reasoning why).
You can find out what people like, but do what you want to do. The best TH-cam channels are ones where the person just does their own thing and they eventually find their own audience. I personally love the deep technical stuff and explanations for why things are done a certain way instead of just saying this is what we're doing because that's the way we've always done it.
Just be yourself ! Your knowledge of machines and how to use that knowledge with those machines is second to none !!! It's so awesome to watch you and Alex together racing together .Thanks for letting us see you journey together on the road of racing !!! I'm sure your channel will take off quickly .
Just be yourself Sir. Dont be afraid to show the ups and downs. The good times and the mistakes. You Sir are why Alex is where She is so to see your side will be great. Thank you and best of luck to You and the Family. Note, What makes You also great is you all do it as a Family. You the Wife and both Daughters. Family is what makes a person really rich in life.
Dennis-you could be a teacher with the way you explain things. Actually, you kinda are and have been for years. PLEASE just be yourself because I really like the no-nonsense approach with Meka the fluffy supervisor keeping an eye on things between naps. Hearing your thought process has always helped me understand what's going on.
Met you, at of all places, an NMRA event in Bowling Green back a couple of years ago. We were in the swap meet and you and Alex walked through. I asked Alex if she realized just how blessed she was to have a father to support her so much. Love that you’re starting a channel. I’m all in and can’t wait for more content.
I like real down to earth hot rodding, don't like to see anything blown up,the people that likes that kind of stuff don't pay for it,I like fabrication, taking something that can't be done then do it,building your own stuff is much more impressive than going out and buying it,anybody can buy a race car but it takes a real gear head to build, set it up and race it,looking forward to watching your channel
Dennis I am glad you have made your own channel and are posting up videos. Love seeing how you build things and the way you explain it all. No need to destroy stuff just for more views.
Hey Dennis, Charlie here. i alwys said as i watched Aliex on the web....."if i ever get a chance to speak to her, im going to brag on her dad." and i did. My son and i were at power tour 2023 and she came up and started talking to us, as we were standing next to her car. So as i said, i began to brag on you and your knowlegde and how you have poured so much of that into her. Shes a cool gal, it turns out that her and my son are about 4 months apart in age. Good to see you have your own show. i really know nothing about this internet stuff but maybe i should start a youtube. good luck with it, i ll do my part in my end to help. God bless.
Like your initial offering. 👍 Other stuff is okay in limited doses. But get my fill of the chatty Kathy girlie stuff pretty quick. Can watch problem solver/fabricators all day. I owned HVAC mechanical company for 40 yrs. So I can relate exactly to problems that arise and satisfaction of overcoming them. Or making a good system even better. Still amazed at the power that can be dialed up and diagnostic info being gathered in seconds. Long way from old points, plugs , rotor tuneups of 60-70s. Anyway keep up good work. Lots of us can relate to you easily.
Thank you. Ive enjoyed every time I've had the opportunity to meet and speak with you. I personally enjoy this over loud and fast paced videos. Good luck and thank you for starting to share your abilities.
I am really looking forward to all the know-how you are going to share with us! That's the biggest reason I watch your daughters channel. You have an amazing family, I love how you are all passionate about the same interests!
I can't believe how patient you are with us; you did a great job of explaining the whys and hows of your various tasks. Thank you and I believe you'll be very successful with your new channel.
I'm glad to see you have your own youtube channel. Watching you do what you do everyday is great. From making stuff to finding problems and then finding solutions to the problems is great. I look forward to the next video.
Folks, this is what it looks like when shit gets done! No fluff, no stupidity. I love it.
the stupidity and fluff drives me away from MOST channels. I want to learn something!
The makings of a solid channel. The lack of bombasity is quite refreshing.
Fabrication and technical explaining why something is done that way Is hands down phenomenal content, channel should kick ass!
Yep
Your voice is very soothing, could you be my Dad?
This was a great video and I hope you keep doing them. I watched you build the 55 with Alex and thought it would be great if you had your own channel.Thank you for sharing this video.

Welcome Dennis! It's so refreshing to see someone use brain power, ingenuity and experience to create a fast car, rather than a checkbook!
👆100%.
Agree just be yourself! We just wanna watch you work.

Thank you Mr Taylor for starting this channel. Thank you magen for filming this for us
My favorite fabricator, he builds everything. He built Alex, and she wins a lot.
Mom helped build alex too 😂

I like seeing the builds ,the racing and fabricating . The complete show in other words .
Hot rods by dennis taylor! YES! been suggesting for a long time. thank you dennis!
This Channel is going to BLOW UP.. AWESOME CONTENT
MUSCLECAR GUYS UNITE
Dennis-you could be a teacher with the way you explain things. Actually, you kinda are and have been for years. PLEASE just be yourself because I really like the no-nonsense approach with Meka the fluffy supervisor keeping an eye on things between naps. Hearing your thought process has always helped me understand what's going on.
Hey Dennis. Glad to see you've got your own channel. 5000 + subscribers in the 1st day, is like a sub 6 second Quarter. All the best.
And you've doubled your subs in 24 hours.
Dennis ?? YOU RULE.. My Favorite Car Builder !!!! BAM... Please .. Keep This Channel Going... Put it this way.. YOU build it ?? I LIKE IT..
OH ( for me ).. NO need to see you blow anything up... SO glad you started this channel
Good to see people that actually know what they are doing on TH-cam.
Finally!!!!!!!!! I love watching the design, prototype, and build work. Then tuning to get the chassis for high torque.
Hi Dennis, this is great, Happy to be here.
I hope you stick with it ! The channel I've wanted and didn't even know !!
1o min into and I'm good , I'm subscribing, now I've got both Alex and dad
God bless.
Welcome Dennis and thanks for creating this channel.
Whatever you are working on and have time to share will be appreciated.
Thanks again.
This is great! What a bright future is see....
23:27 You know you’re good when Meka is mesmerized! I believe she snorted when DT said “I don’t have 3/4 an inch!”
Welcome aboard Mr Taylor! This is going to be special privilege to watch you work. Thank you in advance for doing this!
