Friend of mine had one of those Grand Prix and everybody said it was a blank blank backwards. Square on front sloping on back. But you know now I appreciate that body style because it has a very retro look to it not just 1970 something but even back farther in the thirties and forties in my mind's eye.

@ 18:28 - Canyon Coral '57 Chevy. @ 22:16 - '57 Pontiac hardtop. @ 24:48 - '67 Chevy convertible. @ 28:06 - Yea, some people want everything for nothing, but also, a lot of sellers think what they have is the last specimen left on Earth and is worth a fortune. It's the same story over and over. So what happens is these car sit instead of making money and we know what all-too-often happens eventually.
Man I wish I had a yard like this. I'd go to town cleaning the place up first of all. I'd load up a truck with stuff that's absolutely junk, like exhaust pipes laying around, mangled body parts, and random junk metal. 1) Cleans the place up and 2) you get money for scrap metal. Then I'd sell whole cars that are restorable. I could watch videos like this all day, now that I no longer have a yard near me to browse. The last one I used to peruse was outside of Reading, PA. I was last there in 2004, but soon after, the owner died and I believe everything was scrapped.

You're right! The old boys die off and there goes the yard made into toasters! Now I looked in the mirror this morning and not as old as some of these guys. But what we all failed to do is keep the interest alive a lot more than what it currently is. After all you're not going to go buy a 1972 cowl induction Chevelle for $500 running and in today's money that might be $5,000. Still ain't going to buy that car. So to get people who did not grow up with these cars interested in spending the money it takes to build one or buy one complete will take quite a bit. Guys who make this type of video online are doing their shared to build interest. But even like one of our fellow commenters on this video that would love to have a 59/60 four door sedan one day etc. Let's see if he responds to my reply. Bought it from the original owner son as it was headed into the salvage yard. After all it's a four-door and it was a 1960 he wanted something like that back then! Thankfully taste of change and we'll see how interested this other guy is. If he responds. Because those cars arrested out so bad there's hardly any left now much less mind that's in the perfect stage to tinker with and drive I just go completely through and refurbished as new. Getting back to what you were right about. In the video it was said a lot of people want something for nothing. On the other side a lot of sellers want a lot of something for a little bit nothing that's left.. I saw parts in this video and we'll see what the prices are. If the other guy did respond to me we'll see if I'm wanting a lot of something in this car is definitely a lot more than nothing but we'll see what the bares.

The chopped up white car you asked about is the 1975+, nova. If im not mistaken its the last RWD nova body style before the FWD nova that came out in the 80s. The early ones came out with round head lights & in the late 70s they used the same body style, they just started putting square hesdlights in them. I had a 74 nova hatchback and it was the same body style. Had you gotten footage of the hesdlights i could tell you if that car body is the early model or a later one. I dont recall when they switched to the square headlights & im also not certain if that body style carried into 1980 or if they stopped making them in the late 70s. (It wouldnt be too difficult to figure it out.)
It kind of reminds me if the caprice/impalas coz they went from round to funky looking square headlights at the same time.
IMHO the models with the round headlights are more desirable. Come to think of it? They did the same thing with the C10, trucks. (used the same body style until they swapped up from round sealed beam healights to the square ones. Which IMHO, all of the round to square headlight swaps looked hideous!
Ive also found that in 1975 the caprice/Impalas had a tendency to come STOCK with the 400sbc. Again, *IMHO* the MOST DESIRABLE old school SBC, engine. Ive never had nor desired an LS engine. I happen to have a second gen LT1 & I dont see a 5.3 holding a candle to my 5.7 LT1.

Dude people have been steeling from junkyards for as long as junkyards have existed. Hell back when I was still a young man a friend got a job as security at a local yard and guess what it was open season. We'd go in there after hours 10-15 of us. Didn't feel bad about it either they were a rip off. Just Incase your wondering why so many cars just sat and rotted or got crushed it's because they'd open a big ass pricing book and act like they had prices of shit when really they were thinking about how much they could squeeze you for. It wasn't uncommon for them to try and charge you more then what something cost new. So called tested engine's and transmissions weren't tested they didn't give a crap if you had to do the work 10 times in a row. Just bring it back we'll give you another one is what they'd say.

Ryan, I would love to spend 5 or 6 days in that place, and still not see everything. Lol and yeah, you got a few years wrong, but who cares. I'd say you are still batting very high. And that tri 5 Pontiac was a 57. My favorite of the tri-5 Pontiacs, as it looks the most like the tri-5 Chevy
