Like you Roger, I have been fishing for a very large part of my life and never get tired of learning new things. I have said it before about your videos Roger and that is they are so instructional and you are happy to share rigs, bait and techniques. They are in real time and definitely not like others which seem to lapse into the old….”sit back and watch me catch fish”……thanks for sharing Roger.
Watching from Canada and was beach fishing in NSW last Feb while visiting my son, your bad day catching whitings would have been a fanatastic day for me while i fished. Only caught something around South West Rocks when i fished as we drove up to the Gold Coast and I don't know what they were, not whitings or salmon, We threw them back. Always enjoy your videos. I'm heading back next Feb for another visit and to try fishing again using what I have learned from watching your videos!
Hi Patrick try googling Australian fish species in salt water , should get a picture of your fish to identify , many species im sure your aware of , if your ever back here fishing in Australia you will have better knowledge of what you catch , some fishermen put back in the water very edible fish but they might not like that type of fish , nothing wrong with it just personal taste really to each person in what fish they like to eat.,glad you enjoy your time fishing in ozz , happy fishing. Tight lines as they say here. 👍
@@fishmut I looked up species that we may have caught and one was diamond fish i'm pretty sure about 10 " long and the other was some sort of wrasses with green stripes going from its head horizontal to the gills and then vertically along its body. that one was about 5" long . Then a few small flat ray types. Now after watching these videos I plan to do a better job fishing next trip in feb 25 !
Thanks again Roger. So informative. I'm really enjoying your new technique of highlighting where your cast lands with a white circle on the screen. Many times in past videos I've wondered where you cast has landed but couldn't clearly see,
Thanks Roger for another informative video. Love the addition of showing where your cast lands. Gives a much better perspective. Thanks for taking on the challenge of beach worms vs soft plastic worms. I look forward to the test results.

Thanks for circling the landing spots that's really helpful. If you could also mark the troughs and sandbars that Roger is talking about while he's pointing them out that would be super helpful too!
Hi Rodger Loving the circle, loving the videos . The whiting story is very informative and of great interest I can’t wait for the next chapter with the plastic worm v real worm . My tip is the real worm. Many thanks 👍
I do love that you are showing plastics Vs Live worms it was a question that I thought of this week ! Ha ! Answered. I thought of doing this myself {Yet to @ the mo} on sydney beaches.. great Vid , thank you Roger.
your bream("brim") over here are refered to as natal stuppies, we do have a bream, but it lives in brackish estuary waters, or rivers that are connected to the sea
we also have a worm here we call a moon worm, because it shines in moonlight. you catch it with a wire coat hanger straitend out and a small hook end made on one side or use a sand prawn pump to suck out.

I love this, and all the other videos you have done. Thanks Rogers. As a man who has never lived near water, nor had any real exposure or opportunity to fish - I look forward to move to the coast and start enjoying some fishing when I retire (soonish). Not having anyone at all to teach me about fishing I have enjoyed your mentoring and absorbing the enthusiasm for fishing that you demonstrate in your videos. Thanks Steve, I appreciate your time to communicate with me. you have lots of suggestions and all very relevant. I am planning on doing some of the things that you have suggested. Coming up soon. NOTE - there is heaps of info at my membership website - rogersfishing.com
I watch a lot of your videos Roger. As you show you are on pristine beaches with hardly a person in sight. I fish a lot at Maroubra & get across to Wanda now & then & we have not had many fish there for a good year now. I don’t mind a road trip to a nice beach. It’s not like you are going to get hundreds of fishermen joining you if you tell us the name of the beaches you fish at.
I am very interested in the soft plastic beach worms and how to use them. I got sent some in a mystery package I bought a while back, and I've yet to use them - not really sure how I should go about it! Looking forward to that video!
Another relaxing video Roger. I agree with your comments re the beaches in Sydney. I still fish North Narrabeen. Whilst the fish are still plentiful I do find fewer ppl able to catch worms. Be interested to know where you believe the best beaches in Sydney are for worms.
Exactly. It would be a true comparison. I often thread soft plastics on to a drop shot (basically a pater noster rig). Works well when there's current.
Hi Rodger, love the videos, very helpful and educational. Wonder if you could do one on the way you kill, keep and prepare your catch. I.E. what needs bleeding, how to dispatch quickly and humanely, how do you store the fish you intend to keep while still fishing (ice slurry?), gutting etc. Would be great to see a vid with that info.
Another good video, pity about the wind. It never occurred to me to walk out on a sand spit at the end of a gutter. Thank you!!. I like the circle where the bait lands. I have eye strain trying to see where the cast landed. Well done. Is your move completed. Regarding NSW beaches, Queenslanders talk about their beaches but right from the NSW border south are so many smaller beaches with a headland at each end. One day My wife and I are going to do a tour from Lakes Entrance to the Tweed dropping into many or all of the beaches along the way. I would like to see overseas commenters tell us where they are, just as an interest.
Hello Mr Osborne, the video explains this montage intended for the beach. I fish with pieces of shrimp or squid. Is it better a round hook or a long straight? I always make the mistake I feel.
i kinda wish our beaches looked like this in FNQ at the moment, went fishing at elim thismorning and ti was like glass. no structure for over 150m off the shore. will be trying again tonight abit south
Hi Roger, really enjoy your videos. Why do you walk deeper into the surf when you have a bite on? Can you not tire the fish out using your drag from the sand?
Hi Roger. Couple mates and I have just got into beach fishing. We have been getting some fish off Stockton Beach, puting your tips on how to identify gutters and sand bars and the like into practice. Keep up the good work, we appreciate it!
Love the channel Rodger, keep up the great work! I'd love to see you explain your different rigs (after braid, hook, line & sinker set ups). I have seen you use Carolina type rigs and knocker (I think). Love to get some info from you on these. Fishing from beach in Durban BTW 👍
Another great video Roger. I think all of those holes/gutters you fished in the middle of the day on the turning tide would/should have fired up a bit that evening on the high (some ok structure). To me structure has the biggest impact, even more so than what bait you’re using, on how successful you are. I find that no structure = no, or very few fish, sure if you’re using primo bait like live worms you might pick up the odd stray. Up my way (Ballina) all through 2021-22 and to Mar 23 the beach structure was fantastic, and the beach fishing, phenomenal. Then until January this year the structure was poor (just endless sand and sand backs) correspondingly the fishing was terrible. The beach structure has been on the improve since then and the fishing is improving along with it - happy days 😀 Cheers 👍🏻
Hi Roger. Thanks so much for your videos. I'm only new to fishing even though I've lived on the south coast all my life lol. I've only surfed instead but fishing has been really good for me. I just wanted to ask, after you throw your line out, it looks like you're holding your line. Is that what you're doing? Because I've been letting the line run out and I thought maybe that's wrong. Thanks again.

Also have you ever fished at a super rocky beach where there are more rocks then sand? Im still catching up on all your videos. Not sure where your fishing but I would like to see you fish here in Huntington Beach CA. and rocky beach San Pedro CA. ? Any related videos maybe I haven't seen yet?

It’s what I call stokes beach it’s actually not named on any topographical map I have. I wouldn’t think it’s wairo as that ends at tabourie beach before crampton island but these fish are everywhere up and down the coast line Roger isn’t just locating the one beach with fish on it )
Roger, can you tell me about or talk about keeping fish, I was taught to put my fish on the ice after catching? Can I just bleed the fish and keep it in a bucket and keep on fishing ? I’d like to know more.
If you are fishing for a relatively short time, say an hour or two in the morning or evening when it is not hot, or in winter, in a bucket is fine I often just bleed the fish and keep them in my bucket.
you are casting over the top the whiting. you're probably spooking them as you wade out. just beyond the shore break is where they are. where sand sucks back off the worm beds!
