I feel like you should have referenced your jig off of the same side of the material for each side. If your jig was not made exactly centered for your material you will get a little mismatch. Even 1/32" off center will give that mortise 1/16" of mismatch.
Do you try to make your mortises perfect or do you leave room and fine tune with a chisel? I find i get my best results with some chiseling but it definitely takes me longer.
I think it will not work for a hardwood. i tried some of your techniques but i failed And i realized that the wood that you are using is different from the wood that we have in our country.

The knowledge and layout of the joint is the same no matter which way you do it. After you accurately layout the joint you can then decide to take longer and use a chisel or go faster by using power tools (which are juts fast chisels). Power tool or hand tool is just different ways of removing the wood you don’t want.
@@dustylumberco well said. Considering how many different ways I've seen you create a Mortise and tenon, I would wager you have much more experience than most of us doing this type of work. Some layout videos would interest me though

It's an efficient way to remove a majority of the waste, but then you need to square them up. Rounded or squared, always the dilemma these days.

I sometimes finish with a chisel depending on the project, the wood and the tool I originally used.

I like to use mostly reclaimed lumber from here in Western Canada, it's lots of spruce, fir and cedar
How did you figure your offset for the bushing ? Can you recommend reading on the subject ?
Measure ur bushing with calipers and offset by half the difference between bushing and bit.
I measure from the edge of the bushing to the edge of the bit 👍
