    Love my Vitamix and my Instant Pot. I have the silicon ice cube trays but I ended up buying one with lids because I found little bits of freezer "stuff" was getting into the ice cubes when there was no lid.

      Oh yes! Good point! Those ones with the lids are great. 🤩🙌🏼🙌🏼

    It's interesting to see what you use, and I'd agree, these do seem like the most useful kitchen tools. I also use a sandwich press, because it makes nice pita bread chips, and I use a mandolin slicer a lot. I also use stainless steel coffee filters to make homemade milk a bit easier.

      Ooh your other tools are great! Thank you for sharing. I used to have a sandwich press and I loved it!

    A excellent food prep starter kit video Maddie. Definitely recommend the instant pot and I use it most days whether it is for Oatmeal in the morning, soup for lunch and the main meal of the day dinner. The ip has been a game changer. I also have a microwave for reheating leftovers so I haven't used the cooker/ stove top for more than 2 weeks ( it's getting neglected and unloved 😆). Love 🥰 the video.

      SO glad to hear you are loving your Instant Pot, David!! That's wonderful. Hope it's saving you some money without having to use as much electricity too. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Poor stove top. You can give him an affectionate pat instead. 😜😜

      Hahahha honestly, if you're ready for an upgrade it's worth it. They have a 10-year warranty! You won't need to even think about blenders for another 10 years. 😜😜

    Those veggie choppers are the best. My most used and favorite gadget. I will chop a bunch of onions at one and freeze the rest.

      🤩🤩 The lemon press is so underrated! 😛 Oh that’s too bad about the chopper. 😣 Is it worth it to find a replacement?

    I hate to slice and dice by hand! I invested in the Breville sous chef 16 cup peel and dice. This baby gets used a lot and it is wicked fast and strong. I have all of the sizes of dicing blades, an adjustable slicer and a potato peeler device that I use when making a huge batch of creamy potato cauliflower broccoli soup. My under $100 high speed blender is an Oster Texture Select. It is a workhorse too. My extra large slow cooker gets used at least once a week. And my Breville coubtertoo oven gets used at least twice a week. Yes, I bought some appliances and all of them really help me stay eating whole food plant exclusive.

      Great appliance choices! Thank you for sharing what's working for you! 🙌🏻🙌🏻

    I'm coveting the Dynacube but can't justify the cost! I have a generic chopper/dicer that works OK, but for a real workhorse I have the dicer attachment for my kitchen aid mixer.

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dynacube! Haha yes I felt a little happier to hand chop when I saw the price on that one. 😆 And I am looking up that attachment for the kitchen aid right now! Sounds amazing!

    Well I have a cheap chopper and it is great!! I also have the cuisinart food processor which I use to chop onions, celery, carrots etc when the size and shape doesn't matter like in a lentil loaf or impossible meatloaf and finely chopped is actually desirable...HOWEVER, when I want my onions, peppers, or carrots or potatoes to have a consistent, even and tasty cop like in chilies, stews and some soups I use the chopper or if I am prepping onions, peppers, carrots, zucchini etc to freeze in bags I also use the chopper for its consistent dice....and then of course if I am being too lazy to wash equipment...I just use the chefs knife...Lol!!

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh nice! Do you remember what brand your chopper is?? I'm looking for a good one to try out! Totally agree the food processor is great for large quantities or when the shape/size don't matter as much... but having another option sounds good. (Especially if I don't want to lug out as much equipment. 😆) And YES, a good knife is a must as well. 😜🙌🏻🙌🏻 Thanks, Kathleen!

    Love this video.
    My ip and Vitamix are absolutely indispensable in my home.
    If anyone has a tip on getting the self detect cup to work please put it in the comment.

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  ปีที่แล้ว

      So glad you enjoyed, Terry! Yes, I have struggled with the self-detect cups too. 😂🙈 What I've found is that tightening them just a bit more once they're on the base (clockwise) helps the base detect them. So attach to base and then just a slight extra turn to tighten. They taught me that when I was on a call with a Vitamix tech when I first got mine as I was having trouble with them as well! 😜

    Hi all! I'm looking to replace my kitchen knives. We only eat out once a week, so I use my knives a lot, & the ones I have become blunt so quickly. After putting up with them for about 12 years I really want to get some knives that are beautiful to use & stay sharp!! Does anyone have knives that they love to use?
    Thanks for the video Maddie. There's always some nuggets of gold in what you share ❤️.

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aww thank you, Nicole! That is a great question about the knives and I hope you get some good answers. Ours are inherited and they're pretty good, but I know they need to be sharpened. I'll leave it to the community here to hopefully make some good recommendations for you! 🤗🤗

      @@theresavaughn3575 thanks for the recommendation, they look great. I'm happy to build my set gradually with what I want. I bought my current ones as a set. They weren't cheap & I've never really been happy with them.
      Do you have the fluted knife or non fluted?

    • @MSchipper
      @MSchipper ปีที่แล้ว

      I have several knife sharpeners and they all work great. I'd invest in one. I've had my knife set for over 20 years and never felt the need to replace them.

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MSchipper Love this! 🙌🏻 Can you recommend a sharpener or brand that you use? I've used one in the past and it didn't work at all so it put me off getting another and my knives definitely need to be sharpened. 😅
