How to Prepare and Cook A Fish Head.

  • How to cook a Silver Carp or Asian Carp Head. I made it using a Japanese style called nitsuke. It's like teriyaki sauce but more of a soup consistency. So this is more of a Fish head soup. Boiling is the easiest way to bring out the natural flavor of the fish and to also enjoy the broth. Enjoy!

i just want to mentioned that the soy sauce used here 8:59 is a special type of soy sauce that is used to steam fish, and it has some caramel color and chinese yellow wine added to it, so its gonna be a bit different from the usual soy sauce

I watched the fish cooking, the roe , and this one in succession. My grandparents came from Finland early 1900s to Northern Minnesota where I am. Northern Pike heads were used in stews and soups. I was told the medallions aka cheeks had the most flavor so I put the freshly caught fish entirely in an open fire wrapped in foil . Then grossed out my friends by eating out the back of the head and cheeks. It was GOOD! But they weren't convinced.

I love your content man. Most cooking shows on youtube have annoying people who think of themselves as "hosts" who are trying WAY too hard to be a fake personality and are trying way too hard with production quality.
Your videos feel more intimate and chill.
Not to mention you are doing interesting stuff and not the same "BOMB MAC AND CHEESE!!!!" or "CHICKEN SANDWICH MADE BETTER!!!" or some other disposable content.
Thank you for your videos. You are very relaxing and seem like an actual person and a cool person.
Just try to remember this when you get popular haha

The head is the best part hence the name big head carp. In Asia some people only eat the head and use the rest for animal feed. Try steaming the head whole next time, you miss out on a lot of the food stuff if you cut it open and wash it out

There's an abundance of those (Asian Carp) in the Mississippi river near me.... With the coming Food shortages I plan on Learning to Cook n Eat these, I've watched videos where they grind up the meat n make Fish Patties. People in the U.S. say they are Trash Fish, bet they wont be considered that when they are hungry.. I also plan on cooking n eating Fresh Water Drum. The way you cooked that by boiling that in that sauce looks very good to...
