There's a dumber npc, the last guy alive in the dwemer ruin who was looking for magic artifacts and accused me of interfering with magic - says he's going to snitch to his imperial magic item hoarding union then turns his back on me to go think about how hard he's going to snitch.
Are you talking about that moronic priest, that confronts you sometime during the College of Winterhokd quest line, where you need to refocus the oculory device thingy or we are thinking different person?…
It’s honestly so strange to me that there’s not an optional quest to kill that guy. He literally is the most killable NPC - rude, evidently poses a threat to the Dragonborn, and never around any witnesses.
@@brianmorton9419 seriously the guy is stuck in a deadly ruin surrounded by pale murderous gremlins, his entire team is dead, suddenly a savior appears not only clearing a path for his survival but also saving his silly experiment by bringing the crystal he needed, not only he cares exclusively about the crystal (doesn't even ask about his coworker that went looking for the crystal in the first place) but also proceeds to be a complete buffoon and threatens the very guy that just saved him, this npc is hilariously petty.

One of the nice things about always carrying an extra bow is that I don't need to talk to him at all. He just gets an arrow to the head before he even reaches the door.
I do the same thing with that bastard in bleak falls Barrow, that guy strung up by the frost bite spider, who has the golden claw. He just gets down and dies, the dragonborn doesn't have time to chase some idiot around a cave. 😂
I think this is one thing Bethesda should work on: how people react to your level/gear. I get that some fights might be unavoidable, but past a certain point, animals or random bandits or lower level foes should learn to either avoid you or there should be some way to talk them out of fighting you by threatening them (in fact there are some rare random encounters where you can do that). Anyone you can one hit should be more careful in attacking you OR they should at least attack you in higher numbers.
You kill a shard of an ancient past, a true overwhelming power the Arch-Mage had to seal away with his friends still inside to make sure it couldnt escape, you then overpower said overwhelming power and he's got the bloody GAUL to talk to you like you're just some blithering moron who cant fight back, the Altmer are truly a remarkable race, they speak like they've the mental capacity of all of Mundus, yet they consistently underestimate and ignore things that are a genuine threat.
I didn't even notice him as I was throwing fireballs everywhere. You gotta get used to the timing if you wanna do trickshots, so I was literally just shooting any and everything and he was just kinda there.
I have a great recording of this where i immediately used the shocks spell (drains enemy mana) so as a result he wasnt able to attack me, and all he could do was scream and run away to a corner
I mean this one at least knows magic, he's overly confident but nowhere near as dumb as all the bandits attacking dragonborn in skins and with iron swords. I actually wish they would make mages use something actually useful like paralyze spells that could fuck up DB. That would make sense and explain their confidence. Destruction magic is too weak considering all the smithing perks that can be applied to your weapons
If NPCs could paralyze you, it would be extremely annoying. Also, bandits just see you randomly in their camp, they don't know who you are. This guy knows who you are and that you just killed a dragon priest for the staff.

Today i was about to be robbed near Riften, lil buddy really tought he had a chance against my lvl79 armored mage... dude's gonna be paralized till i reach lvl3000 lmao
The game probably assumes you're playing the mage questline as, well, a mage. Meaning clothes with zero armor rating and soley relying on the Arcane Arts on Legendary difficulty.
No contest, Delphine is by far the stupidest character in Skyrim. Estormo at least had a reason to think he could defeat the Dragonborn. Delphine on the other hand, only has plot armor to protect her (which is, of course, 100% effective) as she runs her stupid mouth and get's herself repeatedly punted on the mountain for being a stupid grunt.

This game stops being challenging around...oh, Whiterun, maybe. That's why I never finished it. Very quickly you reach an event horizon where you one shot everything.
The game lets you pick up literally every single play style at once. You are subtly encouraged to do so at every turn with skill books, easily advertised stats on every weapon you pick up, descriptions of every combat item in detail, and NPCs who offer training and serve as examples. If you're out here not goobing around in both two handed and magicka skills just for kicks, that's not the game's fault. That's you refusing to engage with the cornucopia before you. Be a picky eater if you like, you aren't forced to _enjoy_ the game, but don't pretend there's no food on the table because of it. And there's a difficulty setting for a reason. Go ahead, make the enemies damage sponges.

Don't want to necessarily agree. Finished the main query yesterday, and after the dragon flew me to the location, died quite a lot to draugr deathlords with their stupid ebony bows. Had to resort to hiding and bowing them... (I was level 65)
